I think that Maria is a remarkable woman. I read her book twice and thought it excellent. I have read snarky comments from people who resent Maria for writing that book, but I admire her for her honesty. Her mother was, after all, only human and, despite her beauty and talent, she was far from perfect.

I don’t feel bad for her because I don’t think she would want us to pity her. She has had a remarkable life, with a career and a wonderful, devoted husband and children. She’s a survivor.

Great artists are great because they're abnormal. They see the world in intense and original ways. It's unfair to judge them because their everyday behaviors and relationships are often a mess.

Actually Marlenen's film "The Devil Is A Woman" is one of the least of her movies that I like. Her character is so flipant, selfish Cruel and self centered. Why would Dietrich want to emulate this character of all of the wonderful films that she has made !

@Driver 8 🏳️🌈 This is not true . In the first chapters she said that she admired her mother , they had so much fun together and Marlene cared for her very much when she was little girl. Later the behaviour of Marlene changed , detiriorated and this is simply the truth!
