Most the overhead makes sense. Those things DO cost the company money, but.. it's hard for a person like me to know how much that should cost.
I love the transparency! Excellent video!!
Save yourselves the headaches. Buy the best tankless waterheater you can afford and keep it in ECO mode or factory settings. Very reliable. I have a Rennai tankless and I keep it at 120 degrees. It's Problem free and Ive never touched it. 😊 I bought my mom a Rheem performance and she has to call the warranty people every year and a half with failed thermostats. Pricing here is very Accurate 👌🏾.
same tank as the professional labeled one other than the plastic drain valve which I would strongly recommend people upgrade immediately. nothing wrong with it otherwise
The flexible B vent you invariably wind up needing when the new heater is a different size starts at $80 for the shortest possible length.
I’ve never seen flexible b vent. Most professionals will use single wall venting not b vent. B vent is used when penetrating combustible material. That part is usually already in the wall.
Professionals don't use flexible vent pipe. Some janky builders will use it but other than that it's not used.
How much if they wanna buy the tank no supplies if they wanna buy the supplies
Go to the Home Depot website and check pricing in your area. Or go to a plumbing supply house and check contractor pricing.
It's in the video. There should be a slide at the end that has a breakdown.
Why is everybody using the flexible stuff? I’ve always seen it with the black pipe and the copper going directly to the unit.
Also, just had a 40 gallon gas hot water heater installed on my home from Home Depot. They use the subcontractor it was $2500. I honestly feel I got ripped off.
Was it in California? That's cheap. In another state that is a rip off.
@@brandonbaril7867 No, Michigan, they had to update a lot of stuff to bring it up to code, replace some copper and fittings and fix the way my dryer line was piped in to the hot water heater piping, 2 new gas shut offs, 4 inch vent and pan under tank.
Needless to say it was spaghetti together, but now it looks good with disconnects so I could probably change the hot water heater myself next time .
i think i got taken, they company i called today to replace a 50 gal electric water heater in my garage wanted 3,700, dropped it down to 3,500.
i asked what would be the lowest, they said 3K total with city permit. (permit is like 150$)
BUT to get to 3K, they reused the ball valves, reused aluminum drain pan, said NO warranty on the water heater they supplied besides the 180 days (rheem professional 50 gal..)
they provided 50 gal rheem pro clasic electirc water heater, 2 gal expansion tank, brass fittings, 3 stainless steel supply line. (3 technicians)
i personally drained the tank, they hauled it off...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
although they did provide me with option 2 of them changing out the water heater for 1,500$ but i would need to get my own water heater from home depot or Lowes...
