  • Explaining why Wheelies may or may not be ILLEGAL. KTM 500 EXC Supermoto. This is true for Sweden. Disclaimer: You should always practice wheelies in safe environments. When riding in traffic/on the street you want to ride with safety margins (less than 80% of your limit). You don't want to have an intimate sudden relationship with a tree or a car... lol

In Finland it's a bit controversial with mopeds and bikers doing stunting. It is a thing that you can get your license and plates taken away because of a video but it's kinda rare. Usually if you are a respectable rider and you have everything sorted out on your bike and license you don't get stopped by police unless you do something completely reckless. Often police target those bikers with bikes and mopeds that are not properly maintained and are barely legal. People usually complain about these not legal bikes and that's why you hear the stories of police harassing bikers in Finland. Also there are people too young to have a moped license (under 15 years) which show up to meets and rides with motocross bikes and cause a reason for the police to show up and take actions.

In my country it actually says that both wheels need to be in the ground all time, so if they see you popping a wheelie you can get in trouble regardless of the place. But so far from personal and friends experience they don't care as long it isn't in the streets, places with car movement, or that has cars parked nearby. The most they ever did to me was telling me to go home, even though they caught me red-handed in a street that has (though rarely) cars using it, like how they were passing by.
Edit: I'm from Portugal, but after sharing and talking with friends, the ones that got the license recently said they never heard about this law, just that doing wheelies is considered "reckless driving that endangers others and yourself". So they either changed it recently or when I was taking the license they said that just as a way to scare us from doing them. Doesn't change much in the end though.

The good about Brazil (my country): lane filtering/splitting is legal. Most bikers do this on a regular basis.
The bad: highest tier of the traffic offences. It gives you an almost 3000 BRL ticket (the current federal minimum wage is 1,1k/month, for reference), your license is suspended for a period to be determined by the traffic regulators, and, finally, your bike is retained till someone else can legally ride it away. Big of a PITA.

In the UK wheelies are regarded as dangerous driving and the least you will get is several points and a big fine. If you are the lead rider in a meet or you carry out a wheelie in a busy urban area you can go to jail. However compared to Sweden England is a densely populated country especially in the south so realistically there aren't many places that you could safely wheelie on the public road.

But what i have found is that the better you plan a video it is easier and takes less time to edit. compared to just having a gopro record a random ride and you need to "make up" a story in post. Måste komma på ett format som funkar med enduron. Har kört ett dussin gånger både bana och freeride men det är inte alltid "Wow Wow"-körning utan bara att jag jobbar på små-teknik.. men kanske hade varit najs med motovlog-style på skogskörning?

If you wheelie in Denmark your bike will be confiscated and sold and the state gets the money (unless you have a loan on the bike, then the money goes to the loan) AND you lose your license. It fucking sucks as i just got myself a smc r - But i put a loan on it, so all i can loose is my license, cus tbh, i cant stop doing wheelies!

In the Netherlands the Cops can take your license. There isn't a rule specifically for wheelies. But they'll say it's reckless driving and that's illigal...
However, I spoke to a hot girl who does wheelies. She has been caught twice while doing a wheelie. She got fines (really expensive ones) and had to do a course. But her license wasn't taken. Probably bc she's really hot hahaha
