See how you sweep left then rights . Would it be the same on right hand side drive or swipe right then left ? Cheers
yes
Thank U very informative. I did a replavemnt wirhout registering the battery by replacinf it while the car is on. No warning lights. No change to my GPS etc. Could this create problems. Down the road. Also i put a 105 ah 950 A instead of 90 ah 900.
Thank you for your feedback, much apprecated!
Very helpful. Thanks
Paulo Teles anytime, cheers
What does that symbol on the bottom left under neath mean ? Look like a timer ? Can you tell me what does that mean ?
Sorry for the late reply! did you find a solution?
Great video. I had a problem after following your video tho. I completed all steps as you did. I came to the last step to connect the negative cable and I got Sparks. I am not sure what the problem is but I shouldn't be getting Sparks right. Any suggestions?
Sparks not normal but do happen when connect the terminal to battery. By sparks I'm just talking about little tiny sparks. Is car starting and behaving normal?
Hey the same thing happened to me any advice shawn
I was told when you put the same battery back in the car a agm you don't have to have it programmed only when you get like an autozone battery.
Yes, as long you use the same exact battery you don't need to get it programmed but it is recommended as the vehicle will age the battery. _Randomfix
I replaced it with an autozone battery and i got no error codes, just had to set the time.
Gracias. Como se registra la bateria? Atraves del código QR, o conectar la máquina! Saludos
Sorry for the late reply! did you find a solution?
Hi got a question, could a low battery trigger the ccc to shut down causing all the warning lights on the dash to turn on?
hey man i know this was a while ago but did you ever end up finding out what caused your ccc and dash light issues? i’m experiencing the same things and the battery is low i’m hoping once i change it all issues resolve?
Sorry for the late reply! did you find a solution?
Informative video, good info. Cheers!
Glad it was helpful!
I believe you also need to register the new battery so the car charges it at the right amps. My car 535d lci 2008
I appreciate your feedback Sorry for the late reply, did you get this handled?
Question: Whenever I go to connect my new battery I connect the positive first and when I try to connect the negative it sparks. Works the same way the other way around. What may I be doing wrong
This is normal, connect the positive first and try to turn off all possible device before connecting. You want to avoid putting on a big load when connecting.
If I am replacing a like for like Autozone H8-AGM battery do I still need to reprogram?
I would get the exact same battery with the same specs or you will have to Reprogram it. I would not use autozone or napa, etc.. try find the same battery most likely you will find a Bosch replacement.
Are you saying dont buy a battery from autozone?
528i 2008
Got into a small accident.. My red bst position terminal deployed as well as airbag ... Where can I get the exact wire you have .....
Sorry for the late reply! did you find a solution?
You should at what size battery you used because i have the wxact same car but need to find the right battery lol
Thank you for feedback, noted
How do you program the battery? I found a battery with the same specs. Is programming needed?
Yeah, you need to let the computer know when a new battery is installed regardless of what type of battery. The car will tell the alternator to charge the battery more over time as the battery gets older and retains less charge, so sticking in a brand new battery without registering it in the DME can cause overcharging of the new battery. I realize this comment is pretty late, but hope this helps someone in the future!
Kevin Chung How do you program the battery?
@@brookeelle6879 google auto repair shops in your area and try to narrow down the list with the shops that specialize in European vehicles
Sorry for the late reply! did you find a solution?
though you always have to take the BMW to dealership for changing batteries?
You don't have to do any programming if you use the same exact battery.
Do I have to buy the battery from the Dealership or can I get the exact model from somewhere else?
Most likely the dealer hpw i would search equal quality Bosch battery as you maybe able to find an exact match as per the specs.
Excellent but you forgot to mention one very, very important thing...DONT CLOSE THE TRUNK!!! I did that absent mindedly with the doors locked and now I'm totally screwed.
No you’re not. There are jump points under the hood for this exact situation. You can jump them with a jump box or another car, and use the physical key inside the fob to open the doors
I appreciate your constructive comments, thank you for the feedback!
What happens if i dont reprogram the battery? (if its not the same type as the previous one)
Your new battery might not last long.
Disconnect the positive before the negaitive. Just like every other negative ground spplication.
Can you explain? I'm not following. _randomfix
@@RANDOMFIX When you remove the energy from an electrical circuit (like removing a battery), you ALWAYS remove the power source before the ground. If you remove the ground first, the circuit is still energized, and you run the risk of arcing because of that stored energy. If you're lucky, you don't notice it. If you're not, you get to see the arc. If you're really unlucky, you get to fix a zorched piece of electrical equipment.
By removing the energy source first, you allow the electrical charge to escape to ground before you start work. A negative ground system (like all cars today) the power is supplied to the positive, and the negative goes to ground.
It's the same with any system. If you're working with a spring, you unload the spring. If you're working with pneumatics or hydraulics, you depressurize the system before you do anything. If you're dealing with electricity, you turn off the power.
Be safe. And MARK that you did something, just in case someone else comes around and surprises you. Lock-out, tag-out around the house still works.
Hi, Can I put a regular wool blanket on my bmw battery in the winter?
Sure any insulation can help.
any automotive store you can get a plug in battery blanket for cheap ..... used ones at Auto Wreckers
Thank for sharing.
Great video, thumbs up!I have a question,a friend disconected the battery and then connected it again. Now the only thing turning on is the engine and the headlights. The dashboard is dead and the infotanment system also dead, do you have any tips about that?
Marinos, I would need to know a lot more to give better advice but to start.
First make sure you a properly charged battery, make sure you have clean battery terminals and a good GROUND.
2nd check to see if you are getting power in any of the other systems ( do the power windows/dome lights/ or headlights work?)
3rd check all the fuses (check if the fusebox/distribution box is getting power)
Tell a little more about your issue and I can give you better ideas on possible solutions. Best of lucks. _RandomFix
RANDOMFIX Actualy i don't know much , that's all he told me. Today i will go at his place check. Thanks for the answer :) .
Did u u get it figured out?
Marinos Marinoss what fixed the issue
@@marinoss1000
Did you get it fixed
I'm having the same problem after they put me an used battery..
Car starts...power windows ok..headlights...no radio and the display that you need to see the main menu is black..
Do I need a new battery from the dealer because I don't know what kind of battery the BMW had before...I just bought this 2004 BMW 530i
Exact replacement battery is 95R-DLG and that’s an AutoZone battery
Hovamike, IF the specs are the same I won't about reprogramming it. However, if the previous owner installed the 95r-DLR and did program it then you may experience a shorten battery life. Does that help? Also, can I get your help? CHECK OUT MY OTHER CHANNEL and subscriber if you like it. THANK YOU ▶️ czcams.com/channels/-wuhWwzZnFOWK-GMsP6Ejw.html _Randomfix
Do you have to reprogram the battery
I didn't see your commeent before, do you still need help?
Why does everyone get rid of the ground wire first
Force of habit. Just like jumping a vehicle always disconnect the ground first.
Can I jump start from the back? My battery is dead and the front door lock is broken so I cant get into the car to open bonnet but can open the boot with the key.
Sorry for the late reply, yes, the battery is trunk.
You're supposed to put the car to sleep before disconnecting the battery or you risk damage to the computers in the car
Stan, Thanks for the feedback, I will keep your feedback in mind. _Randomfix
Stan Pittman how do you put it to sleep? Thanks
@@Artchred Really how to do that?
how to do it
You tell us to put the car to sleep & then don't tell us how to ...
wrong. when you fit a new battery always register it on the car because the alternator will charge a new battery at a lower rate than an old battery and over time the car will charge the battery more. by not registering the new battery it will try to over charge the new battery killing it in about 12 months.
Okay, thank you for sharing! I didn't experience that, as long it's same ah and chemistry (identical battery replacement!)
Please explain, thx
How do you register it?
