  • Join me as I take a walk around, review & ride a 2012 Ducati Hypermotard 1100evo SP.
    See the features of the bike, learn about it's history and hear the loud air cooled Ducati 1100evo sound. Then come for a test ride on the Hypermotard on some twisty country roads and see why I love this bike.
    Maybe by the end of the video you think that the 1100evo SP is the best Hypermotard ever made.
    Enjoy the video.

    I own this exact same bike, and is soooo FUN. After reading a lot I expected it to be fun, but damn, riding it is an experience so difficult to describe ! Best bike I've owned so far.

    I have the 1100S from 2008. The best upgrades I've done to it were to the suspension. Front springs were too soft and had those changed out. Using the rear height adjuster I jacked up the rear as far as it will go to give it an aggressive stance and really quick turn in. High speed will feel more unstable, but my steering damper takes care of that. Unless you're doing 120 MPH+ you won't really notice it being twitchy.

    Great review Dude, love the SP! Yours is well sorted! I am shopping for one right now, not a whole lot available. I shoulda bought this bike (looong long time ago, in a galaxy far away) when it came out. I rode my buddy’s a bit ago and I fell in lust with it again.

    I like you honest opinion between the air/water cooled bikes but what about running cost between the two. Having owned a 916sp3 in the past and having take out a mortgage every two years to pay for the service bill has put me right of owning a Ducati again, but I sure do like these hypermotards alot less strain on the wrists.

    • @Drinkyoghurt
      @Drinkyoghurt Před 5 lety

      Depends. If you have a good mechanic it's not super expensive. My 749 was more expensive to maintain and I believe the 916 is just unfeasable to service. The engines are bullet proof and can handle a lot of abuse. Service intervals can be stretched, especially the belts. Belts don't need to be done every 2 years, you can stretch it to 3~4 years. I've had mine on for 5 years now.

    • @matthewmuellner
      @matthewmuellner Před 3 lety

      @@Drinkyoghurt 916 is not unfeasible. If you can do one set of valves & belts, you can do another. Drop the engine & have it on the table in 30-40 min.

    I was told 126 hp but the reality is the fastest I could ever go is 142 but I still have 3000 RPM on the tack I just couldn’t go faster because the front wheel kept coming off the ground.
    I had the same exact model and year however mine is different because I have a two into one exhaust system on the right side.
