There goes my diet! We must try those. They are very different than my Yiayia's and mom's. Their dough we wetter and more of a batter almost. My yiayia used to take a handful and squeeze dollops of it into the hot oil. She must of had asbestos skin! Anyway she would put them in a thick, honey based syrup and sprinkle cinnamon on them. This is the same way they are prepared at Greek Church festivals in the Chicagoland area. But your way looks much easier (and safer)

Oh yes, we have two types of Loukoumades. The ones on the video are ones we traditionally buy from the bakery, usually before we go for a swim or for breakfast if we fancy something sweet. You are right, these are easier to make and in Greece, they are even bigger in size to the ones I made.
The ones that your γιαγιά made (and mine did the same) are equally delicious and probably my favourite of the two ☺️ I will always remember my γιαγιά using the same technique as yours and making them for me when I was a little girl. So many memories I will never forget!
I will do a video of the traditional loukoumades soon. Sending good wishes 👋

@@SofiasGrekaKitchen That makes sense. I don't even think my yiayia would have attempted the other kind first thing in the morning! Be well and stay safe

My milk and yeast mix didn’t rise and waited 30 minutes, also the dough was quite sticky and added quite a lot more flour! Waiting for dough to rise! Sophia what am I doing wrong???

I am so sorry to hear this! I am not sure you are doing anything wrong, as long as the milk is lukewarm, this should help the mixture rise...I think you did the right thing to add more flour if the mixture was sticky. I hope it worked out in the end 🤞

      @@SofiasGrekaKitchen Hi Sophia
Thank you so much for the reply! I think I made the milk too hot and from researching this it can kill the yeast… I will try again! I love your recipes and thank you for replying xx
