The Desire Driver is the PEAK of Drivers in my opinion. It spins, and it's design emphasises personalisation: YOU decide what it looks like

Highly agree! The belt will always look different depending on which rider’s using it. But it’s still the desire driver at the end of the day.

I don't really like it when all the heroes use the same thing. I prefer each of them using unique stuff because it is cooler that way. To put this in terms of selling stuff: kids get more stuff to play with and the company makes more money because we are selling more than one thing.
I've always held love for the Sengoku Driver from Gaim. The collectible Lock Seeds and custom faceplates to initiate the unique sounds and being able to combine with the core of the Genesis Driver adds even more customization. Plus, the Henshin poses are so fun to do

My personal favorites are the Ziku Driver, Sekien Swordriver, OOO Driver, Build Driver, and Revice Driver
Mostly because I love the jingles that they play as well as the part where you can mix and match their respected items(Ridewatches, Wonderbooks Core Medal, Fullbottles, and Vistamps)
For me it's decade's driver, hundreds of cards with hundreds of sounds, it is overwhelming the amount of rider and attack cards and also that you need to be inserting and taking out every single time ( all drivers are like this), but for some reason with decade's dirver it feels even more

One of the main reasons why I like the Gaber driver, is the fact that this is never out of date, because the sounds come from the gimmick itself, while the belt is just a piece of plastic with a lever, two slots for the gimmicks, and a two-way mirror system, which I think is really cool.
Zero one driver is definitely the peak for me,the design,the function,the jingle and the overall playability that's not too much or too little just strike the perfect balance. It's Also,imo *the* most accurate belt that got translate into toy thus far,not counting csm of course but even then it's still a top contender if we were to count them
My favourite has to be the Desire driver. Yea I know everyone's sayin how great it is but it really is. The customisation is one of the best with how you're able to mix and match raise buckles and that you don't necessarily need two raise buckles for it to function. The revolve function is also faithful to the show. And the fact the ID cores all make the same sound could also mean that you can hypothetically 3D print your own custom ID core with it's own symbol. (Pretty epic)
I also love the final form buckles because it makes it seem like a whole other belt even though its still the desire driver.
The Ziku-Driver is one of my favorite belts. The way it incorperated the time theme of the season as well as being elevated by the Ridewatch gimick and spinning mechanic makes it an overall fun belt to mess around with. My only complaint is that it can look small (despite it being the same length as the Zero-One Driver) even on the actors themselves, though the Suit-Actor version looks normal since they tend to be larger than the DX/Actor versions.
For me, it will be the Desire Driver: the driver only need the id core to already has good looking; I can insert one buckle and it sill make sound , insert two random buckles will still make sound, there is no generic sound at all; and the READY, FIGHT at the end will always sound cool. One thing I don't like is the raise buckles usually is just a piece of plastic with no sound. In case you don't know, Bandai just release 5 Raise buckles: Boost, Magnum, Ninja, Zombie, Beat as memorial edition, and they do make sound on their own.
I honestly wanted to put Desire Driver at least in my honorable mentions, but I think I praise it a lot already 😅 Oh that’s awesome! I’m sure those Memorial editions are even cooler 🤩
@KingZoru_VT the memorial edition is fine: they have better paintings; The buckles like magnum and boost have longer grip for adults, and the magnum roll is not stuck anymore; The buckles also have voice lines for every character, which is cool, but I don't know Japanese, sure, I still can hear some lines, but definitely not a majority of them. I would prefer the buckles to have BGM, but again, my phone can do that job. I still wanna buy the memorial edition, but only just for luxury feelings and some of the additional henshin sound.
I really love the Zero-One Driver. I think something about having to replicate the Authorization motion before inserting just makes it so fun. You can't just insert or you get an error.
Biggest downside to the belt is that EVERYTHING is electronics with it, lol
The demons driver will always be my favorite. The design, sounds and jingles, and the playability are some of the best to me and it marked a big milestone for belt/driver technology.
what about the vision driver?
my favorite belt is easily the Ryuki one. Ik that you need a Visor alongside it to read the cards for the full effect, but it lets you have all the fun of playing with trading cards and who hasnt held their phone to a mirror and practiced a henshin pose like the show after seeing it?

I love the Zero-One Driver *and* the Shotriser so much. Their playability is addicting and the standby loop for the Shotriser is lwk a bop!

it's kinda hard for me to choose which belt is my favorite, all of them have it's own unique gimmick that fit with the rider themselves. If i must choose one, maybe the Arcle, because i feel like it's an evolution of the Typhoon, it's simple but not like Typhoon simple, with Arcle have a carving here and there, giving it ancient look, especially on it's rock mode. it's really an evolution from Typhoon, fitting for Kuuga as the first rider of the new era. The same thing can be said for Zero-One Driver, not just an evolution but also a "modernize" take of the classic henshin belt, it even have a big circle window in the middle of it
for me my favorite belt has to be OOOs belt from OOOs because of the coin aspect from the show with the ability to mix the coins around like shown in the show so it gives a sense of creativity when you look at it just from the coins alone although granted you could lose the coins but i digress
I love the OOOs Driver too! I’m not sure if it was just my belt, but there were times where it just wouldn’t register all the medals and initiate the henshin- it got so frustrating 😭 but as a concept it was great!!

and about driver top is DESIRE DRIVER, like each diffrent buckle makes it looks like a brand new driver, especially twin ones, ALSO ITS OC FRIENDLY! and have many feature like revolve on and others lol, at least its not boring other than henshin/finisher
second probably build driver since the steampunk esque look and man those moving gears are FIRE, i just hope they add LED in the bottle too lol

That was quite a good video, and you really put a lot of thought into what you were saying.
As a long time collector and reviewer of these belts, it’s too hard for me to pick a favorite, but I will absolutely defend the Seiken SworDriver.
While it was impossible for them to translate the form and proportions of it, what DID translate well was the concept behind the belt.
The belt itself acts as a shelf or table that the Wonder Ride Books are placed upon, then by drawing the Seiken, the books are opened up. After that, in a twist on “the pen is mightier than the sword” the sword is the pen that writes the stories, and by adding or changing books, that changes the story that is told, as reflected by how the books connect images
Thank you! And I will definitely agree with you- while the proportions were questionable, its ability to execute its theme and concept were pretty spot on! So while I criticize it, I also still think it’s a pretty cool belt ☺️
As we get closer to the Super Bowl, I keep thinking about when the NFL used to have its own Tokusatsu cartoon 10 years ago called NFL Rush Zone. I first knew about it because the first episode I saw featured the head coaches of the Ravens and 49ers who were actually playing in the Super Bowl that week. Possible future topic about Tokus in other media?

The Gotchardriver is quickly becoming my favorite. I’m a sucker for card gimmicks lol.
I also really like how the Gotchardriver has handled its various upgrade units so far.
You say they've stuck to belts for henshin devices but Hibiki doesn't really rely on the belt but the tuning fork that hangs on the belt.
Also, there's non-belt henshin items in Kabuto. ZaBee has the wrist device, Drake has a gun, Zasword has, well, a _sword..._

I'm suprised I have not seen the Swordriver on the comments, I guess I'll my take here too.
I have a love-hate relationship my Saber but the thing I really love is their henshin belt. I guess it hits different for me compared to the others. While other gimmicks would just say the name of the item, Wonder Ride Books have a story to it. And not to mention the rider jingles, a bit long but it does not diminish the epicness of it.
The Desire Driver is literally Build-A-Driver and I love it for that. Any given combination of Raise Buckles makes it basically a whole new Driver.
Demons driver and vail/destream driver is one of my favorites
The Arcle Belt From Kamen Rider Kuuga Is A Classic
I have a idea that you can make a series of videos about transformation systems in different shows like sentai, rider and metal heroes.
i need to get the build driver eventually... it looks so sick and the bottles are such a cute yet simple collectable
I like the classic KR Black belt. It doesn't have much in gimmicks, personalization, custom, etc. but I like it because of nostalgic moment with, Black introduced me to the world of Kamen Rider when I was a kid, and often find myself imitating the henshin pose more times that I could count, so that's my reason for picking classic Black's belt.
I really hope that they make a motiff involving keys soon, like the driver having two or more slots for keys and the main rider inserts them into the hole and turning it up to transform, and the other key holes are used for the upgrades and new forms
The one I've always loved is Agitos Alter ring. It's so elegant and mystical and the lore in the show adds to the appreciation.
I like how the Ghost Driver's eye always follows you regardless of which angle you look at it
Gotta say, I do really wish they had given us a repeating loop for the Build Driver. I really dislike that the toy only cycles through the crank sound once. Wish it had been played as long as you turn the crank, finishing the appropriate loop after you stop cranking.
Alternatively, just let it cycle through again; it’s just too short. 😔
Partial to Kamen Rider Black's Kingstone! We adored it here in the Philippines 😂
My top 4 Rider belts of ALL time so far have to be the Altering, Henshin Arcle, Kabuto Zecter, & the Seiken Swordriver for sure 👌🔥
I actually always liked the Ryuki belt the best, because it's gimmcik wasn't too intrusive within the show, and it didn't look like an uncomfortable oversized hunk of plastic that would be uncomfortable for the rider. It was a bit more immersive. Definitely fits with Ryuki's general tone as well
For me, i usually look at drivers for their practically and ease of use. Be it in the actual product or in lores. So belts that came with everything you would need would always on top of my list.
Decade. One belt, all the cards. No extra stuff aside from Kei touch.
Faiz driver. The amount of thing I can do with the phone alone is hella fun.
Kabuto belt. Sleek and stylish enough that you can wear it everyday and call the Zecters when needed.
Honorable mentions: Kuuga, Agito and Gills. All are bonded to body so no carrying stuff and Agito CSM belt is just hella awesome.
My personal favorites are the DecaDriver, the WizarDriver, and the Game Driver. All 3 really allow for a bunch of gimmick use but are also pretty screen accurate imo which allow for a ton of fun.
Everytime a CSM is announced. I keep hoping it's for the WizarDriver. It just makes sense imo and would be an instant purchase for me.
For a while, there was a numerical theme for kamen riders.
W = 2 usb keys
OOO = 3 coins
Fourze = 4 switches
Wizard = using the hand when transforming. 5 fingers in a hand.
Surprised they used 6 for Kamen rider Beast. He used a 6 sided die when attacking
For me, it's gotta be the Gatack Zecter, with a close second being the Kabuto/hyper Zecter. There's just something so cool with the concept if just hitting a button on the side to initiate the clock up, and choosing the timing of charging up for the rider kicks. I've always found the voice for the Gatack announcer to be so cool, and the cherry on top is opening/closing the horns to finally perform the finisher, just pure perfection as a toy and set piece in my opinion.
Two Sidriver one of my favorites. A belt and weapon pack in one. Also has two modes for there respective Rider, Gun for Live and Blade for Evil.
I think their's an interesting thing to be said, or at least thought about, with those Main Rider belts shared by some/all Riders of a season, and those personal to them alone, and thinking about why, both in-story and real-world.
The buggle driver is the best one in my opinion because it is also a weapon

Saber, W, ghost, hibiki, kuuga, zero one and revice are my personal favorite overall and driver wise. (Hibiki did great with breaking the mold with its changers)
Ain't no way I was today years old when I find out the gaia memory tips are different for Shotaro and Philip. I only differentiate them by elemental (Philip's) and physical (Shotaro's) aspects. As in, Philip's memories are the fuel and Shotaro's are the engines that provide means to process that fuel into attacks
I am so into the era of kuga - decade ‘s belt/driver designs because there are so many good reasons compared to the era of W to Zio . One of my personal reasons is drivers from kuga to decade have voice like AI . It makes the drivers unique and u can feel like oh kamen riders drivers are programmed. It’s so amazing . For example , kamen rider faiz , kabuto , blade . Every time they henshin , their drivers make futuristic voices like standing by… , cast off /rider kick , turn up / absorb Queen ,etc. even if they don’t have voice, they have cool sounds like kuga ‘s driver , agito’s driver , den-o ‘s driver ,etc. And every time they henshin , they are just standing in public in this real world , unlike kamen rider saber’s henshin sequence ( u know what i mean ? ) . Nowadays when modern kamen riders henshin , their backgrounds are way too much changing like they are in some realm like wtf . I’m not watching power rangers .
One of my reason I don’t like the era of W to zio is their drivers say too much lines 🤣 so fking annoying. They are literally becoming toys .
And plus my favorite drivers are kabuto’s , faiz’s , geats’ , zero one ‘s .
Accel Driver used to be one of my fav but it was too simple. But then Desire Driver came with the Boost Buckle along with many other interactive buckles. So, Desire Driver number 1 for me.
I'll always be a fan of the Arcle and Altering. Their designs do so well to emphasize Kuuga's ancient origins and Agito's mystical powers. As the franchise goes on, I find myself less interested in jingles and speeches compared to the whirring of Showa/Kuuga/Agito, though this is recognizably me being biased. I guess for me it's how the Arcle specifically has writing on it consistent with the script present on Kuuga's body, really tying the whole concept together!
Also, I miss when belts were called something other than a _____ Driver.
FINALLY, another Kuuga & Agito fan just like myself!! 🔥😤
imo the best belts are the ones which have mechanical operations that require or lead into cool hand motions.
Faiz raising his arm straight up then inserting the phone down is a good example. A heroic pose that's also sensical for the henshin sequence.
Another example is Blade. The way the first extended arm pulls back and activates the belt to "Turn Up" is my favourite example of a good balance between showa "arm waving" and heisei "belt interaction".
Drive is an example of a belt losing points because of unnecessary arm flailing to activate the shift car wrist lever.
Low on the list is Den-O because the only real interaction is the button press.
I Liked Deltas Belt And Decades Belt
The thing about kamen rider is it's not just for kids, it's basically japanese marvel or a straight ip action series. The plot goes from funny game virus to literally battle royale to grant the wish of the last one standing

Personally I love the ooo or deca driver( preferable neo) because of the coins and over unders of combos for ooo and just the nice cards and simple use for the deca driver
My favorite kamen rider driver(s) is Zero-One series. I own all the drivers and most of all the progrise keys. I love that series so much I cosplay as Zero-One (The suits i own for now is Shinning Assault, Metal Cluster, and Zero-Two. That's me in my profile picture.)
Den O has always been my favorite series because how goofy it is.

The Build Driver will of be my favorite driver the Fullbottles are awesome and fun to collect I have a Total of 55 so far and their actually kinda cute ☺️ especially the Organic ones all the animals and daft part is some the best match’s but what I love about the driver is the level of Flexibility and adaptability it’s the most Swiss Army knife like belt you’ll ever come across but some of the sounds from some or in my case 2 Full bottles sound a tad bit Evil rather than silly but the the one bottle that gives me giggles the most has to be the Octopus seriously that just hit my funny bone every time 😂 and it my first ever Driver I bought so I always keep it dust free gotta keep my equipment in tip top shape incase a Smash just pops out of nowhere 😉😉.

While Ex-Aid is probably my favorite season, my favorite driver would be the Bugivisor II instead of the Gamer Driver, because it serves not only as a driver belt, but a dual-function weapon, without being large and obnoxious like certain other items (EG: Valvara's wrench-sword thing). The Shotriser is a close second tho, because _gun belt._
DecaDriver will always be my #1
When it comes to my favorite belts, I have to separate them through the generations. For Showa, it would have to be the KingStone Driver from Kamen Rider Black. Hesei I would have to go with Faiz Driver from Kamen Rider 555. And to be honest the Zero One Driver from Kamen Rider 0-1 has also become a favorite of mine.
Ziku Driver is my go to
while I love every last driver if I had to choose my top five it would be 1. ooo (I just really like the three abilities at a time and the sound of scanning) 2. W (the actual show and how they look in show also dino guy was so cool) 3. kiva (vampire rider) 4. Wizard (I'm a nerd when it comes to magic and I really liked how it looks in show) 5. geats (I can't get over that fox look and it was so fun to watch I'm a simple man lol)
Any rider belt that has a “mix-and-match“ function to it, I will pick it up almost immediately, regardless of the design of said belt.

As confusing as hibiki was for me (next to decade) I do its unique take of henshin than other kamen riders. But the belt is the core of Kamen rider as a whole

If you look at Kamen Rider decades deca driver which is basically simple in it’s design where you just slide the rider card into the driver and transform this is basically known as the single item driver transformation. In other words you only need one item to Henshin into the said Rider. Example of this is Decade himself, diend, Zi-o, Geiz, Ryuko, Faiz, Blade, Hikibi, Kabuto, Agito, Kuuga, Den-O, Wizard, Ex-Aid, Gaim, Drive, Ghost, Zero-One, Saber, Revice and Legend.
Now during the Neo- Heisei and Reiwa riders they have transformation devices known as the duo drivers A.k.a. using two items or more to Henshin into their Rider forms. Example of this is Double, OOO, Fourze, Build, Geats and Gotchard. Now if I had to pick which driver is my personal favorite I would have to say Kamen Rider decade’s Neo Deca driver, and here’s why I would choose that one over all the other ones the reason behind it is cause again just like his previous one where he could change it to any Rider that he chooses. He can also do the same thing with the current or new generation of Rider so no matter what new Rider Is born he could easily change into that form, now for my second one I would definitely say it’s the desired driver where the concept of it is the same as the build driver we can use two items to combine into.
Okay, there's something that I REALLY wanna talk about judging from your list here.
First of all, you picked both Double Driver and Build Driver as one of your favorites here. I'd say that's interesting bc both of them are Rider belts that employed the mix & match gimmick, which I assume is also the reason why you liked them.
Speaking of mix & match, Kamen Rider has done this with 4 unique, varying methods so far:
- Double Driver requires 2 people to transform and the form's mix & match gimmick don't exactly have a 'Best Match', so the combination could be randomized to a certain extent since there are 6 Gaia Memories, 7 if you count Fang into the mix. If you look closely, the suit's 'border' is vertical, here.
- Build Driver only requires 1 person to transform, but it has a wide range of Fullbottle collection, which could employ random mix & match as Trial Forms as well as the first to have the Best Match combination.
The suit's border is diagonal, which makes the suit seemed uneven on both sides.
- Geats' Desire Driver can form random combos with its Raise Buckles, from smaller to main ones, and they can also be used individually. It also employs the Best Match combo system, but it's limited to the main Buckles that are paired with the Boost Buckle as it would activate new sounds.
Not to mention, the belt's simplicity enables bigger, more unique Buckles to take the place of its slots and make it look like brand new belts.
The Revolve On gimmick also gives the user more versatility as it changes the position of upper and lower armor parts, hence why the suit's border is horizontal and makes it look like the Rider suit is wearing a 'shirt' and a pair of 'pants', interestingly enough.
- GotcharDriver requires 2 Chemy Cards to transform, and can ONLY access Best Match Combos unlike its predecessors. However, the number of Chemy Cards and their combinations more than makes up for it.
The belt's Best Match requirements are available in the cards themselves from the card types and the level numbers that need to add up into 10. Not to mention there are also RepliChemy and Daybreak variants of those Chemy Cards, and who knows what else there'd be in the future.
However, there are some unique cases of this matter i.e. astronomy and mythology type cards are exclusively matched especially for Majade and Valvared being able to use vehicle and occult cards with matching levels.
Secondly, I LOVE crossover gimmicks/forms and Gotchard also has crossover forms that fuse 2 different Rider forms. I believe this could set a precedent for Reiwa's 10th Anniversary Rider to employ fusion crossover forms like this one, if I'm right on money.
Not to mention, the Ghost Driver and Gamer Driver on your list are also rich of crossover gimmicks as they're part of KR's 45th Anniversary project, especially since they cover all Heisei Riders up to their own including Ichigo. I'd like to see them do it again and better in the future.
That being said, I believe you should try covering the crossover gimmicks some time later! There's like, a LOT I could talk about from it. 😁😁😁

@@KingZoru_VT You're welcome! One more thing btw, what makes Gotchard more unique than his mix & match predecessors is that his suit doesn't have any 'border' that separates his form components. Instead, his suit completely mixed both components into one singular, unified mold.
Not only that, it was said that Gotchard's 'Wild Form' armor parts are actually his very own body that had been transmuted by the alchemical process, and that the main suit is actually a doll that Gotchard latches himself into.
Interestingly enough, both Gotchard's Wild and Rider modes have been used as an elaborate setup to speedrun his numerous form debuts, hence why some of his forms are only seen in either Wild or Rider modes on-screen and that his concept forms are mostly showcased in the Chemy Card app game.
This is why I'm interested to see if the 10th Reiwa Rider would employ the similar mix & match method. Then again, Gotchard's crossover forms mostly reused armor parts from previous suits, so I'd like to see if this 10th Reiwa Rider would be made with newer ideas, more different combo and suit molds in mind. 🤔

you might think i'm a Kamen boomer but i still think the original is the best though Black is a close contender for me since I've always thought that Black is one of the coolest design Rider (not RX though)
unfortunately for me majority of the post showa rider belts felt more like a gimmicky toys rather then a henshin device, because IMO it's the imagination that we can henshin that gave it's charm but by adding gimmicks to it you just made a ranger but without the giant mech
that said the belts of ryuki, OOO, and W got to be some of the better henshin belts created for the newer generation, the gimmicks are simple, functional and give the imagination of choosing the right form for the job (which lets the company sell more products)
on the other hand build could be a considered if it wasn't for the crank, if it was something like a scroll wheel it would be cool but having it as a crank just makes you look silly as a henshin
as for the ex aid belt the belt concept is great but the whole design is just awful, who ever in the design team that thought bright neon colours or the rider design looks cool should get slap in the face. hell i feel sorry for the generation of kids that think ex aid riders are cool, something i don't even consider for those that think decade, ghost or fourze is cool.

Yes, technically Hibiki doesn’t transform with his belt! I think the other ones that don’t use belts are like, the other Hibiki and Kabuto riders at least!

I just really dislike the Swordriver. It's AGGRESSIVELY barebones. Even with the books it's whatever. Even the V-Buckle is preferable.
Ex-Aid belt is hideous but fun.
Kabuto's belts are all great, as is the OOO belt.

to be honest the belt this year was shitty..too bulky.its like their cheaping out and also the suit design,,has become too much...i wish they hire a new belt and suit designer..a fan in instagram create a better custom belt than the one in the show..
