    Old Dutch ketchup chips are the best version of ketchup chips you can get in Canada because lays and the other brands don't have enough ketchup flavour on them.

    You did have that exact brand of ketchup chips in one of your previous Canadian snack videos. Old Dutch make fantastic chips. Really. They're probably my favourite brand.

    Salt and vinegar crisps (chips) are very popular here in the UK. We also used to have tomato ketchup flavour crisps, but I think they stopped being made here in the 1990s because I haven't seen any in the shops since then. The nearest flavour to ketchup crisps is prawn cocktail, which have a tomatoey tang to them.

      Do they? I live in the North East and I've not seen them in the shops for several years, so I naturally assumed they weren't being made anymore. I'll have to have a closer look next time I'm out shopping. Thanks for the heads up :)

    I'm always surprised that people from other countries don't have ketchup chips or salt and vinegar. Also, I'm not sure Bud Lime is really all that Canadian. Budweiser is an American company and I'm pretty sure that's a flavor you can get in America.

    • @secretdiaryofafoodie
      @secretdiaryofafoodie Před 7 lety

      JosephJamesScott I agree it does feel strange! Here in Sydney Australia we don't have ketchup chips (we don't often even have 'ketchup', we usually use 'tomato sauce'), yet most people smother their hot chips with ketchup or similar. Conversely, salt and vinegar chips are probably our most popular and most common flavour, yet it is rare to find vinegar as an option for hot chips!! 😂

    • @JosephJamesScott
      @JosephJamesScott Před 7 lety

      Secret Diary of a Foodie, I'd say salt and vinegar is pretty uncommon here due to the prevalence of fast food joints, like McDonald's or Burger King, that sometimes don't even give the option. Thankfully we have chip trucks, usually selling fish and chips in my area that always have salt and vinegar as an option with the usual ketchup.

    I’ve been living in Canada 🇨🇦 for over 25yrs and I haven’t tried so many of those yet!! 🤭🤷🏻‍♂️ Well, except I will never try dog food... 😆 But I’m going to buy that chocolate with cranberry and blood orange flavour now!! I’m not a chip person for health reason BUT ☝🏽 I might try that ketchup flavoured chips sometime. The Breton’s veggie crackers are my favourite as well but I try not to eat them either because I think they use either margarine or shortening for baking and they are hydrogenated vegetable oils which is bad for blood streams and health in general so it sucks because I do really like the taste and the “Sakutto”. And Tim Hortons coffee is not bad. When I order a cup of coffee at Tim Hortons, I always ask them to add an extra espresso shot ($0.80 extra?) for additional full rich coffee aroma & taste. ☕️👍🏽✨
    I’ve never tried those powder hot chocolate mixture so maybe I’ll also give a try sometime. I’m now hungry and better eat before I faint! Bye! 👋🏽 🙋🏻‍♂️🤗😘
    P.S: I went back to watch the video again to check about those hot chocolate powder mix and it’s by Nestlé.😣😩 I thought it was also by Tim Hortons...I’m personally boycotting Nestlé because of unethical business around the world so I can’t try...but I can drink whole a lot other ones by different companies and I believe they are better ones...hehehe...😅😁 Jya, mata atode ne~! 🙋🏻‍♂️✨🤗

    I'm a little sad that they sent you what is widely considered the lowest quality Canadian beer we produce, but I hope you still enjoyed it =)
    Oh no, and then they sent you Tim Hortons. My Canadian pride... it hurts...

    The wafers said "Artificially Flavoured" because Canada has a law stating the manufacturer must state that clearly on the package so the buyer doesn't assume it was naturally flavoured.
    Of course, anyone who thinks Voortman wafer biscuits could be naturally flavoured is pretty dumb. :)

      Artificial flavoring isn't necessarily completely artificial anyway, it probably has extracts from natural sources, so it's not like you're getting anything toxic.

      Well of course not. It's to keep the consumer from assuming "Orange Cream" Voortman wafer have any real orange or cream in them.
