Behind the project "Cybotron" stands none other than "Detroit Legends" "Juan Atkins beside Richards Davies.
produced back in 1983 samples of this track have been used by many many hip hop artists like "Missy Elliot", "Poison Clan" and so on. But Cybotron - Clear" is also known as a tune pioneering the electronic scene.
A Groundbreaking record without any doubt...
Of Course we do not own any rights but thought it is a good idea to share our roots and so support their / our music... - Zábava
I’m 57 years old and was that kid break dancing to this. Still playing this tune regularly. Peace and love always. Kg
I'm 57 years old also and yes this was the Shiznit in '83.
😎
I can remember kids in front of supermarkets breakdancing to this song back in the 1980s. Timeless beauty. Greetings from Düsseldorf.
You're from Germany this is classic hip hop remix
Nice. I bet since it remixes Kraftwerk - Trans-Europe Express it was very popular in Düsseldorf!

DEEEEEEEEETROIT Stand UPPP!!!
Shout out to all the battle dancers who would pop lock, head spin and all of that old school breakdancing! This song was a MUST on your mix tape!
I was age 22 back then Sparring with Michael Watson, Steve Collins, Nigel Benn, and more. I was in my prime of fitness. I remember this track in the clubs and use to bust some serious dance move to this. This Track is legendary like Paul Trouble Anderson. RIP Paul Trouble Anderson. I really miss those times
Nigel benn has always bin my fav boxer straight brawler mate.
I remember when my buddy DJ Skil was scratching over this in the Early 1990's. Carlo, hope you're still out there scratching it up
Summer in Detroit as a kid 🎉❤
I miss instrumentals on te radio! Salute Juan Atkins!
Heard this on an advert today. Who'd have thought you'd hear this on an advert 39 years later. Absolutely fucking amazing, should hopefully introduce a new generation to some classic electro.
Its the Motorway Dealers advert. But that's in fact the 2005 Missy Elliott song Lose Control which uses a big sample from this one.
@@harryedwards4080 thanks for that 👍
It's how I got here as well. Thanks Motorway! Actually I have been looking for that arpeggiator line for AGES, as I've heard it sampled in a few tracks since and wondered where it originated.

I'm 55 and were those the days or what? I love music in general and always have, but this sucked me up and blew me away from the beginning and still does.. never fails to bring me back and feel like I'm actually there again

Roller skating to this Jam in Philadelphia. Dancing skates skating rink. 80s❤❤❤❤
Philly, here, yeah
Any amount of anxiety or fear will not change your situation. Clear your mind.
4:47 isn’t long enough. I could listen to this for an eternity. ❤❤
Ah yes! Clear. A Cybotron/Juan Atkins masterpiece. I remember when the Wizard would take this joint to even higher heights with amazing cutting and scratching on FM 98 WJLB and clubs around metro Detroit.
This was a great record for flashing cutting and mixing
This was major back in my DJ days in Germany you could get a major mix going off this and all the Tommy Boy music that was out there, but freakazoid and requestline was my go to mix if they was jumpin
Masterpiece.
Timeless ❤
I can only imagine how hard people must have been breakdancing to this... man this came out 9 years before i was even born but damn ...
We were breakdancing really hard! LOL!
This brings back so many memories. I remember this kid that lived in my neighborhood named Duran, he and his girlfriend were a breakdancing dynamic duo. This was back when there were actual breakdancing battles mind you. Whenever this song came on you knew what was about to go down.

Parties in LA | Inglewood California were sick! Unreal how hard we body rocked to this track!
And here I am at 20 discovering it for the first time
This song will still get the party rockin💯💯
Music makes you lose control!
Miami skating rink music in the 80’s
I remember few people break dancing and pop locking to this song also remember a lot DJ’s mixing like crazy when they play this
I remember roller skating to this and watching the break dance battles in the middle of the rink shout out to HOMEWOOD COLISEUM PITTSBURGH
Those feet vibrated forward like he was from cybotron. They moved not just to the beat, but that out of this world rhythm met out of this world feet.
"clear out the space, clear your behind" I think most people miss the dystopian theme, Detroit was and still is a pretty apocalyptic landscape
They used the main synth elements from Kraftwerk's "The Hall of Mirrors" in such a funky way, so far centred from the original, that was sombre and dark.
Total genius!!!
Clear 2024
i love this song
It sound.good then and it still sound.good now❤❤❤
Boy boy but back in the days still got it somewhat LOL we used to have fun block parties oh my goodness girl had original parts original parts still got that boom boom

Yes yes, GTA Vice City brought me here... I grew up listening to this and I never realized that this song exists back the day when electronic musics were difficult to produce. Reading all the comments made me respect thi music even more. Can't wait to listen to this again in the Remastered version.

Back when Hip Hop Culture was Hip Hop Culture . . . Back in my days it was outcast music , now it's the thing or normal . . . What a nostalgic era in time . . . Wish i could turn back the hands of time and keep there . . . No hoods or gays or lesbos or wack ass wannabe rappers . 🤔
Glorious

This statis of creativity the sound of(incredibility
How the hell did they make this song without the music software they have now (fruitloops, etc.)?
experience, wisdom, ingenuity, talent, spirituality
@@McWit0 they actually used drum machines and synthesizers
@@lazerbwoi1212 Yeah, drum machines, synthesizers, samplers and sequencing hardware
Actually the "instruments" used to make these (Kraftwerk, Africa Bambataa, Twilight 22, Cybotron, Egyptian Lover, Jonzen Crew,..) songs are electronic to the max. And as far as I know Kraftwerk are the Forefathers of this music.
Most of the classic electronic music used very specific, heavy, often expensive hardware to make every single sound. Many of the editing techniques available today were nearly impossible to do back then, so you can hear that the songs are constructed in more classic manner, without rapid cuts, and tracks play out longer. Analog synthesizers were very capable, and skilled programmers knew how to use them well to make lots of sounds. No secret about any of this.
This is from the year 4044
