HAIR COLOUR:
I dye my own hair at home using L'oreal casting creme gloss 360 (black cherry). Please bear in mind that this is a semi permanent dye and I don't use it regularly, when freshly applied it is BLACK!! If my hair is lighter it is extremely faded and i'm probably due a colour so what you're then seeing is mainly my natural hair colour which is a reddish medium brown.
SKIN TYPE/COLOUR
I'm 36 and my skin is normal with a slightly oily t zone and early signs of aging like fine lines as well as some sun damage and REDNESS!
I DO NOT use fake tan, I get very tan naturally in the summer as I have olive skin. My face is often a LOT lighter than my body because I keep my face very well protected to keep my melasma under control and signs of aging at bay!

Hi guys, little update that I tried this powder this morning as a setting powder, on top of foundation but before my cheek products and i MUCH prefer it this way...didn't dull my cheek products but I benefitted from the smoothing effect. So that would be my recommendation for the powder if you want to keep your luminosity! X
I'm going to try it that way as well. We have similar skin tones. Hope it makes my skin look as good as yours does.

I think this is the ambient lighting palette that has the 3 shades in it mixed together. A lot of people use that by running their brush across all 3 shades anyway so this is basically that in 1 pan. If you look at how much product is in that palette this is actually cheaper being $14US less and having around only 0.4 grams less product. The palettes ($64) have 9.9 grams of product total so they are around $6.40 per gram whereas this ($50) at 9.5 grams is more like $5.30 per gram so if you already use the ambient lighting palette all together this is a more economical product. If you don't mix them or like that palette then it's probably not your jam. I have fair normal to dry skin and sit in a room full of fluorescent lights at work so this level of luminescence speaks to me. I hope they introduce shades for darker skin tones, you'd think it would be easy enough to do given they already have the shades amongst the various compacts and limited edition palettes. I think this is essentially designed as an all in one for people already using the ambient lighting palette which is also for light/med skin tones and could also do with an updated extra couple of versions for deeper skin.
I’m so happy you posted this! I almost purchased when it was released but emailed hourglass customer service and the shades that are in this powder are dim light (permanent), diffused light (permanent) , and hypnotic strobe light (limited edition previous shade and not the metallic version).

I think it makes your skin look fabulous. I love Hourglass Ambient powders I have dim light, diffused and mood light and have some of their palettes also. I love using their ambient powders as a last step. I think this would be great on my skin as I am fair/light skin and have combination skin. It defo makes your skin look great tho and think it makes your skin look better than before. It has actually made me interested in buying it Lol x

If they don't take heed to the consumer outcry over their lack of shade inclusion they will lose a lot of support! I hope they release 3 palettes at Christmas, one specifically for deeper skin. It's long overdue!

Ooo, 'one melange', sounds posh 😚! It makes you skin look lovely btw. I have the Ambient Lighting palette which I love and always gives my skin a lovely finish. But only one shade isn't on. There really should be deeper shades as well.

Yes, it took some of the oily look away, but replaced it with a beautiful blurred luminous look. It literally looks like there's a filter on one side of your face.
I would totally use it to set the foundation and then go in with blush and highlighter.

It definitely lightened you up and I was also expecting to see more of a lumi-glow. After you added the Chantacaille it looked nicer, not so flat. Secondly, I have been telling myself I don’t need that Natasha bronze palette, but your eye look today is pulling me back in! It’s just simple but impactful, and looks gorgeous on you. Time will tell if I can fight the temptation! LOL

I mix the Luminous Light and Radiant Light to get the perfect finishing powder. I love the soft natural satin coverage while looking in natural light it's so beautiful. I would LOVE purchase the powder when Sephora carries it in the US. So glad its a satin finish and not so Luminous.

It is very pretty but I was expecting it to be more like their finishing powder with added glow. The only thing I can think of is that they don’t have a pressed matte powder (as far as I know) so maybe they were trying to address that gap... When I remember to do Mel’s buffing technique, I use that lightest shade in the Unlocked palette mixed with the Strobe Lighting Powder from that palette and that is a nice effect. I believe Mel herself uses an Urban Decay powder so I might check that out. By the way, your eyeshadow is absolutely gorgeous and I was very pleased to see it’s the ND Bronze palette because I wanted to have a play with that this weekend! 😊Have a great weekend Charlotte! xxx 💋

Iam a Hourglass girl! This powder looks very pretty on you and I love the bluring effekt but microglitters... Idk how much I would like. I will stick to my very large Hourglass collection for now - maybe we will get that new formula in a christmas palette.

On my monitor, the powder gave you a very pretty soft focus effect. This color would work for me but in time companies should no better than to release ONE color of anything. It leaves an entire section of the population out which is BS. I believe I'm rather irked at Hourglass. Thank you for getting this up so quickly and giving us your thoughts. You look beautiful!

Thanks for this great review of this new Infinity powder, can you please let me know how the Infinity compares to the other existing powders such as Dim Light, Diffused light etc from a perfecting and blurring aspect... does it blur and perfect the skin better that the other ones or is the effect the same? Trying to decide if I need to try this one, since I have so many of the older ones... thx 😘

The color very much has my attention. I’m a neutral base skin tone. I saw some gray or a neutral color mixed in and I think it’s calling my name!
Review was on pont. Perfect.❤ But the powder itself sounds kind of disappointing; hourglass has created a benchmark for everyone & itself so frigging high that a mediocre product is just not acceptable..needless to say the shade range is a bummer.
Brilliant video Charlotte. That powder looks nice but they should’ve included more shades to make it more inclusive and added more luminosity to it. It looks gorgeous on your skin though and it’ll look even better on your winter skin as it’ll not lighten your foundation. It’s definitely still wearable though but they defo should’ve thought about darker skin and really fair skin as I don’t see this working on really fair skin to be honest. 💖💖

I enjoyed your video ! I searched this product and ur the only video!! I did indeed order this product. I appreciate your video and I did subscribe. However, I do categorize your skin as Dark. I think it will perform differently on my skin which it fair. I guess I dont expect finishing powders to be shimmery. The laura mercier candleglow is baked and has 6 or so shades I think ud enjoy. I have heard good things about the Lancome absolu powder as well.
Interesting, I just saw Tara Lyn use it and it was too luminous on her, to the point that it did look like a highlighter and it accentuated all her pores and wrinkles (per her comment). It looks completely different on you.

I originally was going to pass because I’m slightly oily and don’t need luminosity, but if this isn’t luminous, I don’t really understand the point - it’s just like one of their regular ambient powders. I have two already, plus the Veil powder and several palettes including the strobe one, so this is a pass. Oh! Did you pick up their new mascara?
Yes agreed, IMO it is just one of their regular ambient powders in a new shade. No I didn't, it didn't have any volume and I NEED the volume X
When I reviewed an email from Hourglass about this launch I was so stoked. I’m very grateful that you reviewed it because I thought it would be a lot more illuminating. Since I already have one of their palettes I think this will be a pass for me. A while ago they had released some 3 pan palettes (ambient lighting edit palettes) and one contained their ethereal powder. I was all in to purchase but it still hasn’t come to the US and it has been quite a while. Have you heard anything about these?

I saw TrendMood's Instagram about the trio in January and around April I emailed Hourglass, they aren't coming to the US, they were an Asia (Malaysia) based release. Which sucks, because I would have purchased them ALL!
If that helps they are available in German, french and polish Sephora online. :)
They are all available in Sephora Poland! There are 5 different palettes.
I wish this would work on my oily skin! Maybe it would work as a natural looking highlight...

You look gorgeous. If I’m Using an hourglass finishing powder from one of the ambient palette I use that over the foundation and then use bronzer and highlight over the top. Have you tried it that way with bronzer & Blusher over the new powder 💕💕🥰🥰

Hi Charlotte! I was definitely expecting more. It's not even halfway between Metallic Strobe and Ambient. It's kind of......nothing.😐 I prefer a matte finish, but I wouldn't invest in this. I think on super fair skin it would look muddy. Nope!

I have the Hourglass bronzer in diffused light, but it is not what I expected. It is spotty and does not blend well. The reviews are good; am I the only one who finds it disappointing?

Great review as always! I'm super irritated that they won't tell us the damn shade names, which three? TELL US! I think it looks pretty on your complexion, but I can see how someone darker than you would look dull and grey, which isn't what anyone goes for, hopefully they have more shades coming out and this was the first to release? I think this may be just fine for my super pale skin, but I own SO many Hourglass powders already that I'm sure I have the ones in this pretty little package to mix all on my own and save $50USD.

I know Lancôme carries a luminous powder. It’s really good.
It's definitely not particularly illuminating but boy has it perfected your skin, it looks fantastic! If they'd marketed it as a blurring setting powder with a satin finish you'd probably be chuffed to bits with it but it's definitely not what it "says on the tin".
Just add more highlighter if you want more shine. You look very nice

Okay, I’m done with hourglass. They have repeatedly failed to include black women. If this one shade was due to lockdown issues, they should have had the sense to explain in their launch. They are clearly not interested in being inclusive. I will not be supporting them.

They have not done one ☝️ powder for dark and deep skin , , it’s all for ligth and tan skin , it’s only foundation and concealer that they do all shades

I love the edit palettes but only coming in one shade is unacceptable!!! I’m technically Caucasian and half Portuguese so I’m about a medium skin tone and they’re too light for me never mind the HUGE amount of darker skinned people!!!! It’s like they it’s don’t care 🤷🏻♀️
