I like how he forges them thin, that's my biggest complaint with kukuris. I bet his handles stay on better too with the blade not weighing so much. Good design!

depends on what you use them for, the thicker blades will tolerate more abuse than a thinner knife, but weight for a knife is a personal thing

His skin condition is called Vitiligo. Its when your immune system attacks the skin pigment. It can be caused by numerous reasons...a cut, skin burn, sun burn, chemical exposure...etc.
Eventually he may lose all his pigment. The unfortunate side, he'll be very prone to severe sun burn. There has no definitive cause other than heredity. But, it can happen to anyone.

Adrian Pimentel, actually presence of a particular pigment called melanin is responsible for the colour of our iris, skin and hair colours. Our Liver is responsible for the presence of the pigment. While due to any malfunction of the Liver if the production of melanin is stopped or retarded, vitiligo such manifestation may aoccur in people with darker skin shades. Usually it is not distinguishable in people with already white skin. The excess secration may lead to the reverse syndromes. And as far as study goes it's not certain whether it is hereditary. If detected early, with proper treatment either it can be healed altogether or the spreading can be stopped easily. Lastly it's absolutely a harmless disease not at all contiguous, even less harmful than Influenza.

My dad, grandmother and a couple of my uncle's have it. My dad eventually lost all of his pigment. His started from scratch on his shin. When it healed, it was white then progressively grew to the point he lost all his pigment on his right leg. It eventually migrated through out his entire body until he no more pigment. My dad was as tan as the gentleman in the video. Now he has to be careful in the sun. He's completely healthy, with no underlying issues.

Indeed a special man, he lives in a small village in Sikkim, North-East India. I shows us that money and status is not what necessarily makes a man happy. Being good in heart, live with connection with nature, work out your body- all these are more important to happiness.
