    Your story and beliefs reminds me of this song " Naam Gum Jayega" sung by the nightingale of india, Lata Mangeshkar. She sang "Mere aawaz he pehechaan hai" which as you would know, means that my voice is my only identity, not my name or my face but my voice.
    Thank you so much for repeating the parts of history we all need in the 21st century ❤

    I can relate it too. I did loose the vision too. But I was passionate over photography which made depressed at that time. But gladly I have overcomed everything because of my parents being my side for the whole time.

    I have a rare genetic eye disease called BEST. And it impacts my life on so many levels. I think I'm privileged if I say on a basic level like roti kapda makaan but I'm hella underprivileged in other ways. A rare condition with my eyes(which has no cure btw), 5'3, born in a SC family, a messed up father, financial crisis and many many more. But okay such is life. I was wondering who I can sue? If I see "YOUR EYES ONLY DESERVE THE BEST" when a condition named BEST exists.

    Our teacher has heard a story in which a writer goes to a school but he sees that everyone in our school was handicapped, some were blind, some could not walk, some had a broken hand. Seeing all this, the teacher gets scared and tells us to go to school. The principal fights with the principal and tells that they are doing a drama. Our school here teaches Manawata, how such people live their lives.

    Hi Avanti, your story is incredibly inspiring. I had a similar experience growing up in a less privileged family and eventually working for a top MNC in the US. While my journey wasn't as challenging as yours, I can relate to the determination and resilience you've shown. I've never subscribed to anyone before, but your story compelled me to do so.
    You have such a lovely voice, and music is the perfect therapy to help navigate through challenging times.

    How true... Every tough and impossible situation gives us the opportunity to become stronger and know what you really are. I lost my first pregnancy pretty late (6 months) and that shifted the way i viewed life, my goals and my mission and basically my entire being. For sure it made me stronger and showed me ways to cope up with almost an impossible situation.
    Sending love to you and know that you are doing a great job.

  • @ShreyaGanguly-ec5no
    @ShreyaGanguly-ec5no Před měsícem

    Avanti Didi, Thank you for sharing your story of optic neuritis. It was indeed a life-changing experience for you because when we lose one of our senses, albeit temporarily, we begin to exist to a much greater intensity in our other senses. With the loss of vision during your fifteenth year, your sense of sound and hearing became stronger and you were able to use music and the full range of the magic the voice offers. I have always been passionate about writing and as soon as I fell in love with reading and with books and stories, I knew I had to write words of my own and conjure up realms from my imagination. While I have not had to endure anything like what was described in the video, I am neurodivergent, specifically autistic, ADHD, and dyspraxic. My neurodiversity is a gift, but it has also meant that activities involving gross and fine motor skills have taken a lot more time and effort for me to learn confidently like cutting fruits and vegetables, handwriting, and tying shoelaces. I am hypersensitive, which means that loud noises, bright lights, pungent smells, rich tastes, and most non-cotton clothing are uncomfortable and make my head spin, the sensations throbbing against my every nerve. There were two major incidents where I fainted, once at a mall and once at school because of a specific chemical used to clean the rooms and the mention of blood. However, another aspect of my neurodiversity is that there are instances of complete hyperfocus when I spend an entire evening working on something without thinking of anything else. This is how I have been able to finish last-minute assignments or study for school. Outside of literature and writing, my interests include history, particularly nineteenth-century studies, languages, and linguistics, namely in literary translation and comparative literature, philosophy of collective consciousness, liminal spaces, and the unseen. In addition to novels and short stories, I write poetry. I love you

    Hi. Something kind of similar happened with me a few days ago, like i didnt loose my vision but when i woke up from a nap i coulnt see anything clearly . I rubbed my eyes twice and thrice but still everything was blur. It was just frustrating .i got panicked as it was the first time it happened. It just felt like a bad dream but it was not . But thankfully eye drops and some sleep helped me. Also when it happened the first thing i thought of was of your this video
