    Best review on the L3 , you actually took the time to test the range not just quote the manufacturer blurb , 45 miles is my best so far on my L3 pulling a loaded Burley travoy trailer on less than ideal paths with some good hills , the bike would have carried on but even with that amazing seat my back side said enough lol , the L3 rocks and just like my previous bike the fiido D1 draws people to it to ask about it.

    After two years of active use of this electric bicycle, I can share my opinion: the battery range exceeded my expectations; at a weight of 95 kg, it comfortably carried me for about a hundred kilometers in normal, windless weather. The maximum speed (when unlocked) reaches up to 39 km/h on a fresh charge. The only downside is the very sensitive handling, especially when trying to steer with one hand

    I have an l2 and the thing is a beast. At first I thought it was a clown mobile but I quickly got used to it. My favorite bike at this point for running around town and even from one town to another town and back. With a large plywood load deck replacing the rear deck seat on mine it can carry a LOT OF CARGO too and tow a trailer when needed ( I hitch the trailer to the back of the plywood load deck).

      It would. When you go from 15.5 miles per hour to 22 plus. You are burning about 33% more energy. At 15.5 mph the L3 gives me just under 76 miles. Unlocked for a top speed of 23mph. It gives me just under 51 miles. I weigh 171lbs. So if you are getting 60 miles odd weighing 200. You would get at least 80 if you were averaging 15 to 16 mph.

    Interesting video. Why do you think they opted to go with lots of range but little power? Easily looks like a bigger voltage motor would work. It does have little tires, so you do have to be careful. But such a huge battery! Whew!

    • @fender1000100
      @fender1000100 Před 2 lety

      They didnt its capable of 24mph when unlocked. The chinese bike companies are obligated to abide by the European ebike rules. Which have a speed limit of 15.5 mph. Most ebikes can be unlocked to produce their true speed. Which is usually 35 to 40kph. The L3 will do 37 to 39kph when unlocked. Or 23 to 24mph. So American purchasers. Simply have to learn to unlock the bike. As I think your speed limit for an ebike is 26mph.
      And that's more than enough speed for a bike with 14 inch wheels believe me. The look on the guys face on a racing bike when I caught him the other day was priceless.
      This little monster is POWERFUL. It shocks alot of people.

      I advise anyone unlocking the L3 to first master the bike. And wear a helmet. 24mph on this bike is FAST.
      And you must treat it like a little motorbike. Make sure you have full confidence and control over the bike. The sweet spot for this bike is a round 20mph. That's the best speed.

      Nope he meant miles. I weigh 172lbs and got 75 miles on a single charge doing a similar test. I got just over 50 miles when I unlocked it. Averaging 21mph. With a top speed of 24mph.
      Remember he did the test on his cell phones GPS tracker. The L3 has no odometer. Or trip calculator. You have to link a cell phone if you want to do a range test.

    I wonder what range you can get with a 100 lb rider? Seems like a waste of battery to put it in such a puny bike.

    • @fender1000100
      @fender1000100 Před 2 lety

      The bikes not puny I can assure you. It's a little monster. When unlocked it will give you 24mph for over 50 miles on a single charge. I weigh 172lbs at 5 8" tall.
      Nothing touches this bike in its price bracket. Absolutely nothing. I had an ebike before this that was only $150 cheaper. And it could barely give me 18 miles pure throttle and 18mph.
      The L3 is incredible. Used to take me about one hour and 15 minutes to get to work. 11 miles. Now it takes me 35 to 40 minutes. A 22 mile round trip. I used to have to peddle at least 4 miles myself to make the trip.
      With the L3 I can do it two days in a row. And still have some juice left. With no peddling. If I want some exercise. I simply turn off the power and do 3 or 4 miles.
      But it's now a CHOICE not a necessity. Love this bike.

    • @fender1000100

      Theres no need. That's the beauty of the L3. It's basically a moped scooter with pedals. And when unlocked will go 23 to 24 mph. It's an amazing little bike for the money. I had another ebike before I got the L3. And it was only 150 dollars less expensive. And it couldnt even give me 18 miles on pure throttle. And had a top speed of 18 miles an hour. That's how you have to look at it.
      What Fiido have delivered here for less than £800 euro is incredible.

      Nobody cares as long as you arent tearing up the road at 30 plus miles an hour. It's a stupid law. Even road bike riders with no motor can cruise at 20 plus miles an hour. They just dont like the fact that you can get long range and decent speed without having to pay road tax, fuel expense and insurance. Its ALWAYS about MONEY.

    That seat is still not good enough because it's nor wide enough . A seat has to be as wide as 6 inches minumn to span my 2 hip bones that attached to my pelvis . That seat tongue is useless as far as I can tell . A wood board 4 inches by 8 inches would be more comfortable that a bicycle seat .

    An interesting test would be to take a more powerful bike, but limit yourself to 15 mph (throttle only) like the L3 and see how far you could go. I know that is going to suck, but would be interesting.

When I unlocked it for a top speed of 23mph. I got just over 50 miles. For range this little monster is on it's own its AWESOME. I crossed london and back yesterday on my l3.
