    Watching Tales of the Empire I don’t think Obi Wan season 2 is coming back until they can tie Ahsoka, Barris and Bo Katan with the underground movement that he saw in season 1.
    I love the way it’s coming together. Star Wars fans want a sprint to the finish but Dave like George is a story teller and I’m here for all the interconnectivity!

    • @baki484
      @baki484 Před měsícem +3

      That underground movement is called the hidden path and it was spearheaded by former jedi Cere Junda and master Eno Cordova on the planet Jedha who was later killed by Vader after Bode Akuna sold them out and the anchorites that served them are scattered.
      Jedi survivor is where you'll find the rest of the information. Ahsoka and Bo Katan are not part of the hidden Path.

      I liked the story too, but the first Obi-Wan should have been about he and Luke, not Leia. Reva shouldn't have had such a major role either, specially opening up about her. In my view, that did set the stage that it's more about her than Obi-Wan. I would also like to see another series/movie without K. Kennedy's butchering it up. The timing for each week did decrease as the series continued. That should not have happened and it from what I read, was due to K. Kennedy. She really must go if Star Wars is to be restored! She's too much of the political propagnda machine along with L. Hedlund. Get rid of them already!

    i may be an outlier, I saw Star Wars [A New Hope] in the theater at about 3-4 years old. Every since then i was a huge fan. My childhood was star wars. I enjoyed Kenobi a bunch. Could it have been better? Absolutely! But i really enjoyed what they did telling his story. I wish they would have focused more on the exact things you mentioned. Being older now, digging deeper into his PTSD, his loss, and him finding hope and connecting with the force again are points I wanted to see more of.

    I think the show had potential and I have no problem with the idea of an Obi-Wan, who had some mental problems after episode 3 and needs a bit to find his way back to himself. My problems with this show are, that Reva and Leia seemed to stay more in the focus than Kenobi - the guy after the show was named. And there were some really stupid moments like the trenchcoat scene. Of course there was a bit of nice fan service like the Vader fights. But because of the stupid moments and the point that Obi-Wan fealt not like the real focus of his own show, doesn't make me think of this show so positive.

    The Obi Wan show in itself wasn't fundamentally bad. The story makes sense and is pretty interesting in itself. I think what really toned down the appreciation of the show for many many people were some few scenes and mistakes that were so absurd, it effectively reduced the overall credibility and immersion of the show.
    For example, the chase scene where bounty hunters miserably fail to kidnap Leia or the two characters surviving being stabbed by a lightsaber like it never happened. It's small details but it affects the whole show. The show felt overall a lot more childish than other recent Star Wars productions, and I think that may be why George Lucas liked it beyond the fact that it expanded on his original characters. George always tried to make Star Wars both serious but also childish, he wanted little kids to be able to watch it, and he probably found that in the Kenobi show. On the other hand, we didn't like it as much because most of us, who were kids during the OT or PT - have now grown up and we prefer more serious / mature Star Wars content now, like Andor.

    • @fallen4life080
      @fallen4life080 Před 26 dny

      Those small scenes, imo don't affect the show anywhere near as much as fans think it does. To me they're the equivalent of how bad storm troopers shot in the OT or the bad choreography in RotJ's fight scenes in the desert. People still LOVED the OT, the problem is people nowadays are pickier and more biased and have a universal dislike of Disney that anything small is exaggerated.

Perhaps some of the Clone Rebellion can pass through Tatooween with Rex and Cody getting help, strategies and something about Obi-wan with Rex, Echo, and Cody (and perhaps Crosshair or Hunter) teaching clones there is a reason to live beyond being soldiers. Remember the scene with Master Yoda in the cave with the Clones in Ep 1 of Clone Wars explaining that each one of them is unique and has his own interaction with the Force. The era between Luke & Leia's birth during Order 66 and their coming of age at the start of A New Hope was for me a big question mark on how Luke became the man he was. I loved how Kenobi filled in some history with Obi-won and Leia, I wanted more. I wanted much more of life on Tatooine. Showing a scene at Obi-won's job wasn't enough to make Tatooine more tangible. The scenes they showed of Owen & Obi-won in town were too short and never made us feel like we're there in the streets of Tatooine. Shouldn't there have been a few bounty hunters come through town looking for stray Jedi? There is so much thee. I look forward to anything GL would like to do in this era.

    i think conceptually, the show had potential and the story was definitely there. but i think the biggest let down has to do with the budget and execution. for a star wars project, it didn't look all that great and i think that it suffered as a result. that my reasoning for why lucas likes the show, not because it was great overall but great in concept and he loved what they tried to do.

    I quite enjoyed Obi Wan. I grew up on the original trilogy, too young to remember seeing Star Wars in the cinema back in ‘77 but remember taking the bus with my brother to go see Empire at the movie theater after that May snow storm in Denver.
    It may be a controversial opinion, but I love it when a Star Wars property subverts my expectations. 💜

    Tony Gilroy gets Star Wars. A story about overcoming hate and fear and fighting fascism.
    Sprinkle in aliens, mythology, space battles, mix of melee and ranged combat.

    He was consulted yes, and I found the Obi Wan story was very well done showing the consequences of the Jedi order fallen, the inquisitors looking for Jedi left to kill, the meeting with the clone soldier begging for help, him leaving hidden .
    Everything was sad just as it had to be after all the events happened.
    But there are parts of the story creaking , no need to say where.

    I think there was wiggle rooom for Vader and Kenobinto have mey between episodes 3 and 4. "When I left you" isn't really saying "when we last met". It could be saying "when I left your tutelage".

    I understand George if he feels that the prequels are his favorit. I love the original trilogy and it will probably always be my favorit star wars. But for me the sequels in a way describes the events leading up to the OT perfectly.
    Then I know Jar-Jar and some dialogue that didn't work, but that aside, the prequels was great.
    For George to achieve that with all new technology and stuff. He must be pleased with them
    Then for his sequels I think Leia would have had a more prominent role and I would have loved if George got to do his version Like a what if series or just a animated special just to honor his work and what his created to get closure.

  • @ChynaFearsBuckwheat2001

    If George Lucas would’ve made the Kenobi series, Luke would’ve been skipping around yelling “Yippieee!!” and the rest of the scenes would be Bail Organa having Senate meetings discussing politics for hours and hours.

    I have liked the Obi Wan Kenobi series from the beginning. It added depth of character to the Star Wars world. Sometimes Star Wars is a little shallow. Strength of character and character depth in the stories improves the whole storyline.

    Vader said "when I left you", not "when we last met". It's simply not the same thing and it baffles me that this is an issue for some people.
    The moment I left my ex-spouse is not necessarily the moment I last saw them.

    Fans forget George Lucas said in 1977 that the main target audience for Star Wars was children and teenagers. The theme of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series included children. In general, when I see a Disney children's movie that I find unwatchable, I am reminded that it was meant for children not adults. As an adult that loves melodrama and charisma, I love Rogue One and the Andor series like an adult would love a soap opera that children can't stand. The Obi-Wan Kenobi series was ok. I hope children and teens liked it.
