  • It’s now been over 5 years that I’ve been self-employed and I want to share some essential finance basics you must know before you monetise your side hustles and start being self employed 👀
I am by no means a financial expert or advisor but have definitely experienced self employment in many formats - from working freelance but full time for a start up to doing part-time freelance work in the dance world to juggling both full time employment and self employment now as a dancer. From speaking to people in my life I know that when you’re about to start earning from your side hustle it can be quite a challenge to know what exactly you need to do, especially if what you’re used to is the pay-as-you-earn system as an employee. In this video I cover the beginner information you need to know and things to consider before you make your first money from a self employed side hustle.
If you’re a fellow self employed hustler let me know your tips in the comments and if you’re about to start - do you have any questions i can help with? 💬

I believe so! There is no blanket restriction on having a limited company of your own while being employed as far as I’m aware. But what you have to do in my firm for any other income streams is declare them which then triggers a conflict check from the quality & risk management team. So while you’re technically allowed to set one up there will be some exceptions if it creates conflict of interest for your current job. Have you had any experience with this yourself/ any insights you might want to share? 🙂
