- Fellow Legends, welcome! Today we have an excellent video by Charlie going over some of the shenanigans going on within the AAA games industry. Namely, we go over some of the decisions made by Microsoft and Xbox right off the heels of Sony and their Helldivers 2 and Ghosts of Tsushima actions that left the gaming community reeling. Charlie saying Xbox releases exclusives is patently incorrect. Xbox hasn't released an exclusive since 2016. All their games are on at least 2 platforms (making them multiplatform, not exclusive).

Console exclusives don't mean shit Sony is only now realizing pc is the way which is why Most of their former "exclusives" are on steam rn

I still don’t know wtf is happening with the gaming industry like first Tarkov with the 250$ Unheard edition (pretty on the nose that title) Sony PSN Network account to play helldivers and now Ghost of Tsushima directors cut (although i think thats more for the mp) and now Microsoft just shooting themselves in the foot and closing down studios
@23:00 people work on that to safe money, but even it fails the tools can pre-create assets they can use in game.
A AI voice generator is a thing I wait a long time to come to games since Volcaloids that can save money just for voice actors worldwide.

@11:40 the same happend to the developer of the gollumn game. they were 2d point and click adventure developer and very good at it but no make a ***what ever golumn should have been*** game way out of the compfort zone of the devs... happend ~5 times the last years that a studio was forced to make a game they are not used to do then close the studio...
games should be released released on their own and then at bare minimum given to game pass after 2 years or at least after announcement that there won't be any additional content (including entire library of decades old games)
that way it would be profitable for everyone and praised as game preservation system

If things continue down this path, all the big companies will be replaced by new ones that rise from the the indie game sphere
Tbh I love games pass because I'll be real. Theirs no way in hell I'm Ever spending 30+ dollars for a game. The only one I did was Ac6 With my own money, and my only paycheck because im still a 19 year old depressed kid who can't live alone yet.
Game pass let's me play games I couldn't otherwise, which for some games Might entice me to pay for it, Like Sd Gundam Battle Alliance.

18:10 I always wonder why... make something that's supposed to be an escape from reality LOOK MORE REALISTIC?! Yeah, Sims are fine because they are SUPPOSED to be a simulation of real life, not fiction. Reality is crappy as is, don't make games more realistic than they should be.

I QA'd a few games way back when.. one everyone loved, it was great and then was cut from proper release, another one was so bad everyone hated it and said they wouldn't buy it, but got a full release and major advertising push.. makes no sense

Say that to the 147 Countries that can't legally make a PSN account yet still being sold the game that they can't now play LEGALLY. Not to mention Sony has a dogshit data security and not everyone is willing to take that risk.
