The first time the world heard Angelina sing. The world has waited for every new song she releases ever since. To say she is special doesn't go close to describing the effect she has on us every time she sings.

Thank you Mert for reacting to our mini jazz queen here, we have all watched this performance and the other 3 on this show hundreds and hundreds of time it never gets old and it's always a joy to watch others discover her, she is anchored in our hearts forever she is completely unique and such a beautiful soul , her family are also amazing you will discover more and more, she goes on to sing in multiple styles and genre's although Jazz Blues and R&B are in her vein's she is impossible to predict always a surprise she can sing anything and Angelinarise it.. Exactly: you see plenty of young singers who can warble like an opera singer, but I have never seen or heard anything remotely similar to Angelina... a prodigy like no other. And yes, she won the entire competition - with about 46% of the total vote in the final against about 8 other acts...

And so I really hope that you will delve deep into her catalogue. She turned 18 on January 10th, and I have considered her to be the best female singer in the world a few years already. I am one of those who watched this performance when it aired, and I have never left her side ever since. And she did indeed win the contest, as the youngest ever to do so. She went up against 9 other finalists and won with a whopping 46% of the total votes. Keep reacting to her and learn that among the 200+ covers and originals, there isn't a single performance that you'd ever be tempted to call sub par. She's any reactor's dream in that respect, even though a common thing to hear is that people feel like they only repeat themselves, and that they don't have the vocabulary to describe what they feel. I guess the same will happen for you as well, but you shouldn't let it bother you. And you sound very well-spoken, so I think you'll do just fine 🙂 Before moving on to newer stuff, feel absolutely free to build your Angelina even stronger. Angelina’s voice is so beautiful and so unique. She can sing every genre of music and she sounds amazing. There are well over 100 videos of Angelina on CZcams. She won the competition. There were 10 finalists, and she got 46% of the votes! Us norwegians knows talent when we see it! There are about 5,5 million people in all of Norway. And to get 46% of the votes at just turning 8 is incredible!
Here is a quote from Angelina (7y) from an interview with TV2 after her Auditions NTG 2014. "The reason I chose this song is completely random. I love jazz, but" Gloomy Sunday "was random. It was a night I could not sleep and my mother was stressed that I was awake long after midnight. Then I borrowed my mom's iPad where I wanted to listen to jazz on CZcams before I fell asleep. Then came a picture of a beautiful lady screaming at the sky and with her eyes closed. I heard the song "Gloomy Sunday" that night and then I had to hear it every day. I love the melody. I understood well what the text was about because I know English well. Every time I sang it I felt something special about it, it's hard to explain in words. When I sang it for mom, she said that this song is nice, but that it was incredibly sad song. " ♥👣👸🏻🎷

There are three more songs she sings on the Show and you can actually hear her voice mature more after each one of the songs (she turned 8 during the Show). She has already touched your heart and the feeling you have is something you cannot describe because you've never felt like this before in your life. English is her third language of 4! Her family has been everything to Angelina. Her Grand Mother, Mery Zamani, born in Iran, a well-known poet and artist exposed Angelina to Music, especially Jazz at a very age, about 1 1/2 to 3. She asked to be entered in Norway's Got Talent at 5, but the requirement was 7. She had already been in the recording studio at 6. All 4 of her performances went viral here on CZcams. When she won, she was declared a National Treasure in Norway. She still is today at 18. She won the competition with 46% of the vote. Her Uncle Michael became her Manager and Agent. The family hired a full-time band for her as well.

If you contrast this with BANG BANG same competition you see her already adapting her sound for what for me is the definitive version of the song because of the synchronicity of a tiny girl dressed in white with flowers in her hair singing " I were 5 and he were 6 we wore horses made of sticks"
She won Norways Got Talent. Her parents refused to sign contracts with many labels including Disney. They only signed with Republic Records when she was 14 under the proviso she not be pushed out till she finished school and exams. Which is why she was able to put out an EP OLD ENOUGH last year at 17. She was accelerated. Non of her family are musiciansvor singers but grandma MERI ZAMANI was zlso a famous child prodigy poet and paInter. This is what gave the family insight how-to protect and nurture a genius.
She ended up invited to talk shows in the US, I remember her singing "Fly me to the moon" on The View in like... 2014? (quick search, yep, in 2014.) and everyone praises her singing...
Forgetting they're interviewing an 8 or 9 year old Norwegian girl in English, I find it impressive to be bilingual at least at such a young age, it took me a few years of school before I learned English, well at least to a level where I can make myself understood, how correct it might be... is another story. :P (though I did know bits and pieces prior to school, kinda needed to for playing video games, had to write commands in MS DOS to go between folders and finding the file to start the game, and then the games were in English as well)
Mert, thanks for your reaction to this incredible performance by 7 year old Angelina Jordan. Her mother held her back from auditioning on this show. Angelina believed she was ready at age 5, but her mom was able to wait until she was almost 8 years old. Since so many singers passed their auditions, the next round was a Judges Cut round, performed only for the 4 judges and contestants were required to sing a cappella, unless they also played a instrument. Thank you Mert for this beautiful reaction. This was the first time I heard this little princess sing, 10 years ago and I have been absolutely fascinated ever since. In all these years I have heard it thousands of times in hundreds of splendid interpretations and yet every time I see this first performance of his at the age of 7, it still moves me, as the first time, with that wonderful concentration of humility, simplicity, candor, sympathy and talent. This girl is something unique and is so immersed in her singing that she manages to convey it to our soul. For me it is an angelic song that is renewed every time. 💛🧡❤

Oh, she won the competition all right, with 46% of the votes cast for all the ten finalists! You really should react to the three further songs she sang on this show. I'm a Fool to Want You, Bang Bang, and the final song, Summertime. You can see her blossom in to a real star. Do remember to use the version with subtitles and follow what the judges say. I have never seen Got Talent judges so genuinely impressed.

Angelina Jordan Astar, born on January 10, 2006, in Oslo, Norway, showed a passion for singing at an incredibly young age. At just one and a half years old, she sang in her crib, inspired by Whitney Houston's performances on CZcams, and by the age of three, she was already listening to jazz and classic legends on her iPad. While her grandmother, artist and poet Mery Zamani, was the greatest influence of her early musical tastes, it was Angelina who ultimately decided to pursue a career in music, with great support from her family.
At the age of six and seven, Angelina had her very first studio performances, singing "Rolling in the Deep" and "I Who Have Nothing." However, it was at the age of eight that she gained viral fame by winning Norway's Got Talent. Singing old-time classics from artists like Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and Ella Fitzgerald, she became one of the youngest vocalists ever to win an international Got Talent show. Her rendition of Screamin Jay Hawkins' "I Put a Spell on You" at the age of nine is considered one of the best performances by a vocalist of that age. She is truly a prodigy.
By the time Angelina was eleven, she recorded her album "It's Magic," which consistently charted as one of the top 10 best-selling jazz albums. Why does Angelina perform barefoot? It all stems from a promise she made to herself at the age of six. While traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, they encountered a young orphan girl who had no shoes and had scarred feet. This girl weighed people with scales to earn money. Angelina gave her own favorite shoes to the girl, and when asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, the girl said she wanted to be a doctor but couldn't because she had to take care of her siblings. When Angelina was asked the same question, she said she wanted to sing for the world. The young girl promised to pray for Angelina. Since that day, Angelina has performed barefoot as a reminder of those less fortunate. At the age of nine, she even wrote a book about this experience titled "Between Two Hearts," becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway.
Aside from her music, Angelina is known for her charitable nature. She has helped raise millions for children and environmental causes, mostly from performances at fundraising events. At the age of eight, she even pledged to donate her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to children in need. She has performed for heads of state in various countries to raise money for charity and during the pandemic, she was seen buying meals for the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. Throughout her career, she has continued to prioritize helping those in need.
Now that Angelina has recently turned eighteen, her activities with Republic Records have multiplied. She released her original song "Love Don't Let Me Go" on May 5th, 2023, followed by her EP "Old Enough" in July, featuring five new original tracks. Narges is an activist for women's rights who is currently on a hunger strike while imprisoned in Iran. OK, now that you're about to exit the baby AJ era, I'd really like to see from you a bit more emotional resonance to the song itself as she sings it. This may be 4 or 5 or 10 videos from now (depending on how thorough you are with watching her early stuff). Don't get me wrong, it's lovely watching you react naturally, but I just want to ask for more b/c I think you have it in you based on how musically perceptive you've been so far. When you get to her 10-12 years old, remember to listen to it as music for yourself, not just as witnessing a prodigy. That's my advice, take it or leave it.
