  • How do you go about pricing your art?
    Set your pricing too high and you will likely have no sales. Set your pricing too low and you will miss out on potential earnings.
    In this video I give you a proven system to estimate how the public values your art and how to use that to set your prices so that your work will sell.

    Hi Tim, this is one of the best art videos I have seen. I signed up for the free webinar, but it doesn't seem to be loading or playing. Otherwise, really enjoy your content. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. You now have a new subscriber. Cheers from Florida!

      You don’t have to sell it, just hoard it all in your basement, where it will rot away and then be thrown out after your passing. Great idea!

    What if we have been improving our skill set over the years, including with college courses, as a second major now, and never really pushed to sell since scary of course but are at a great level of skill and need to know how to price it right?

    • @ELENAOttawa
      @ELENAOttawa Před měsícem

      Formal education sadly does not add ANY value to your art, only real skills. Which most artists learn on their own, of course! Because their chances to make even $1000 from art in their lifetime is close to zero, so they’d never recover their cash, unwisely invested into studying a HOBBY of art.

    • @timpackerfinearts

      You can set whatever price you want... but it all comes down to how much the public VALUES the work😉

    What if you create a piece of art that is so unique that appraisers can't put a price on because they have nothing to compare it to? It can be photographed but the way it was created you can never be able to reproduce it. Five appraisers and three art galleries all said it is a once in a lifetime piece and needs to be displayed and all galleries wanted to display it but I don't want to do that. Any advice on this one?

    • @timpackerfinearts
      @timpackerfinearts  Před 4 měsíci

      Why and how is this piece of art so original that nothing like it has ever been created and sold?

    • @RachelMorgan-ij9dj
      @RachelMorgan-ij9dj Před 4 měsíci

      @@timpackerfinearts Thank you for getting back to me. The piece is two paintings the top painting is a dirty pour using 4 colors and when you put a light behind the canvas that is where the real art piece shines. It tells a story with figures and objects without using a brush stroke. To show it in a gallery you would see an abstract piece hanging on the wall then turn out the lights and turn on the backlighting on the painting you have a bold strong piece that keeps you engaged looking at the objects. Would love to show it to you then you might understand why they don't know how to appraise it.

    • @ELENAOttawa
      @ELENAOttawa Před měsícem

      If it can’t be priced, the price is flat zero, dear. Too unique = zero sales.

    • @RachelMorgan-ij9dj
      @RachelMorgan-ij9dj Před měsícem

      @@ELENAOttawa I have to say you're wrong. That one piece sold to a buyer that flew from Canada, inspected it then bought it and commissioned me to do 4 more. Buyer knows the subject will be whatever the painting wants it to be as long as it has a underlying painting within the painting. I have two galleries wanting 15 pieces for an exhibit one in Atlanta Ga and the other in New York. It is something that people hasn't seen before so I bypassed the original way of doing things in the art world to accomplish my goal.

      @@RachelMorgan-ij9djto that i would say to price at whatever you think in all honesty. times like this you should maybe consider price of resources (although i usually wouldnt) or look at many online galleries im sure you might find something that relates

    Career length ! That is misleading. I have seen art from artists who have painted for over thirty years, and I have seen work far superior form artists who took up the brush only a few years ago ! Innate talent is something you either have, or you don't.

      but its how you cope with your strengths and weaknesses, thats what makes a great artist. talent is completely subjective just like art itself, more about work ethic and freedom for trying new things
