I have questions:
What would have happened if Jack met himself? What happened when Sarah met herself? Did they both go insane and kill each other? And why did Anthony not simply cover the hole rather than try to fill it in? Why did Jack not go back down the hole to his own dimension? Does the hole represent an unresolved issue in Anthony's psyche? Is it a literal "memory hole" down which he drops his problems? Were his wife and daughter going to leave him? If so, did Anthony "dispose" of them?

very unique coverage of unresolved infidelity resentment… the anthony character was portrayed so well, not just his acting, but the very presentation of the typical cowardly dependent beta who are always the ones you need to be wary of. they are the most vulnerable to committing exactly these kinda crimes. well done👍🏻

As for your comment, I would agree that technically you are correct, BUT when writing I tried to add some dialogue that serves as to the reason why he can't stay. The obvious one being at the end saying that he can't risk him running into himself, but also when they are outside arguing. Anthony says some key things out there.

This was strange. He couldn't allow his friend to run into himself. When his wife ran into herself...he said it was bad. He never mentions the daughter, except at the beginning when he said his wife and daughter have been in the hole for three months. That painting on the wall was odd...it looked like a man falling inside a hole.

Good short with rough sound mixing. The music could do with being quieter or the dialogue louder, especially near the end where the music drowns the dialogue out.
That’s a fair criticism. Small budget filmmaking comes with its challenges. I did add subtitles to help though! Over all glad to hear you liked it over all! Appreciate you taking the time to watch 🙂

Wow! This is Jackie. OmG 😳 omg that f*cked my brain hole! What the h*ll!?! I loved it! I felt all those emotions it was messed up wow. That was dark and emotional. Kinda creepy. That really made me feel emotion and add to that it’s your faces I’m looking at. It was hilarious and horrible a tragedy ugh! I love you guys so much thank you so much for the workshops it made everything in my life better. I’m so grateful I need to come to improv jams in the spring and summer. I feel grateful you both did good work. I like this art hehe. Make more you guys work well together. The ending felt traumatic it messed with my emotions. It was scary. It was clever and scary anyway I could keep going. I want to act too! It looks fun 😇🖖🏻🪬🙏🏻 oh I’ve been doing karaoke every Friday in Putnam Valley lately thanks to you recommending I do karaoke. I’m getting better too I nailed jewel and Alana’s morissette songs men got emotional it worked! Thanks for musical improv I feel like it saved my life. Yes.. 😅 lol actually no. The home that we filmed in for the most part was left untouched except for the large headless painting, the table setting at dinner and adding the family photograph. BUT that being said, the circular decorations is something that I myself haven't even noticed until you pointed it out. Sometimes in filmmaking you just get lucky and things work in your favor. So cool that you noticed that detail. Thank you for watching the film and I'm so happy you enjoyed it!
I think Ant is crazy and had this idea of some alternative hole (he had it planned on his notebook)... Then he tryed the hole with the kid, who died... and then the mother went to the hole to try to save the kid, and she returned angry about him killing the kid... and Ant killed the wife. And now he invited Jack to show him the hole...
I think Ant has dual personality and jack is his other one. They are the same person. And Ant want jack to desappear... but he comes back ...
Did I get it right?
Like when jack tried to reach Ant and couldn't... they said WE have responsabilities now...
Jack was having an affair with his wife… he planned Jack coming there for a reason!

Out of all the church friends I last last summer, I kept two of them and I sent them this because it’s interesting and one rebuked me and said she rebukes the devil in me. I’m so glad I don’t go there anymore! Omg I was so brain washed by those people. I won’t details but them that run it are monsters and the women are brain washed. Thank God!! She rebuked me for sending this. I feel so proud of myself! I really liked this I had to play student because I see you both as my teachers (I’m talking to the actors here) comedy is way better than any other subject I ever studied. I know this is horror but it still makes me laugh not the bad scene I can’t laugh there but I’ll say I feel like Jack every single day pretty much every where I go. It’s like I’m just normal then someone goes nuts and I’m like well now what do I do, don’t get cork screwed. That’s what I’m trying to avoid. I can relate to Jack. Oh it’s Jackie btw. This is my second and last comment on here most likely. I liked sharing this with my friends oh my sister likes it lol. The church lady rebuked me though well Satan in me she said. It made me so happy. I can’t believe I was that brain washed by that church and I knew they were bad the first time I went there but my boyfriend lied to me so much who brought me it was like I was under mind control. It was awful! It was like The Hole the controlling and abusive people there and others I’ve met in the past made no sense at all. Hurting people is pointless. Chris is good at playing bad I’ve seen creepy expressions like that a lot. He kinda scares me all the time. I know he’s nice though. Anyway I just got rebuked by a church lady for sharing this. I feel kinda proud actually. I went from Jehovah’s Witness to non denominational to rebuked lol. I’m actually happy thank you God thank you Jesus. I don’t need church anymore, I can just read the Bible on my own follow Matt Fraser I read his books! Anyway I’m officially no longer friends with a ton of church people now. It feels lonely but better. I feel like a stronger smarter person. No longer being manipulated or lied. I was so lied to and I just played along because deep inside I knew at the time it could be worse. I don’t want to live in denial ever again. Ever. I want real people around people who love unconditionally and are not brain washed people who aren’t wolves or sheep something better. I’d rather be rebuked by sheep being led by wolves than be a sheep again being lied to every single day it mental and spiritual warfare to lies to so much. I hate lying, pretending for fun is how I like to play when everyone knows it’s pretend. Truth is paramount. Anyway… I hope we all have a Disney ending. I’m working on manifesting a mansion in the hills and Lamborghini 😉 I’ll have to play the lotto or something can’t hurt to try lol.

It sounds to me like you just weren’t with the right people. Not all people that go to church are hurtful in ANY way. But I’ve definitely had my share of not going because another girl in the congregation was bullying me, so I understand.

I’m not even halfway through and I’ve lost interest. Scientists want us to believe there are other universes, but none of them can explain how come other versions of us haven’t already crossed over into our universe. I think it’s nonsense; there’s only one version of each human being and our world is all we have.
So how come Anthony doesn't lower a camera or send a drone down the hole? 🤔

A lot of the questions you are asking do have answers that are placed throughout the film through the dialogue. As for if the hole is a metaphor, yes. At least to some degree. Of course there is an actual physical hole that is shown in the film but simultaneously it does have a metaphorical meaning. What that meaning is, I will not tell just yet.
As for the rest of your questions, like I said, a lot of them can be answered through listening to what the characters are saying. I would recommend maybe giving it another watch to see if you can catch some of the small comments and strange things that Anthony says to Jack.

You've created a good mood...but I'm afraid I dont get it...there are too many plot holes (sorry) for me to be invested. The cinematography is good and the actor playing Jack is top notch. Screenplay could use some re-writes. Look forward to your next short. Good luck on the next project.

@@frank__theodore You're welcome, and I realise you are still learning! Not everyone will love your work and like I said, there were many things to like about the film. For a first film it is very good. The main thing is the story itself (screenplay) it needs re-writes and maybe finding someone who can help in that regard would get it to the point where it is bulletproof. The main thing you've got is a pretty good sense of pacing and editing...and you've got the actor who played Jack, which elevates everything. My advice would be to find folks who are at his level. The other actor (although not bad) is not near the same level, and the unfortunate truth is that that brings the whole piece down slightly. Again, not putting it down just giving you my two cents. The same thing happened to me on one of my shorts and it was a lesson learned. Casting is key. Anyway, thanks for the response and I look forward to your future work.

Because Sarah came back, he let her stay, and it was bad. Your imagination gets to run down the rabbit hole and THAT is a great part of the movie.
@@user-su3tq2ro9b As far as I understand, Sarah did not return. Hole was the passage for mirror world. Whatever happens in real world also happen in the mirror world. Instead of killing him, he could have told his friend to return back to his world.
Sarah was missing in both the world. That's only the mistery.
Thanks so much for watching the film and I am so happy it is causing a dialogue. I wont go into too many details as that would ruin the fun. I will say that it is not so much of a mirror world, but more of a "Alternate Timeline". The idea is that at some point, when Jess went down the hole and came out of it. She is now no longer in her timeline. So Now, there would be two Jess's walking around. And then the same thing for Sarah. Obviously Anthony tried for both of the Sarah's to stay in the one time line together but as he said "They saw each other and it was really, really bad" So yea its supposed to let your imagination run wild on what exactly happened there. So when Jack comes, he can't rink him running into himself and he can't send him back where he came from. So that only leaves one option. I would recommend maybe watching it again. There are a few pieces of key dialogue that don't just outright tell you but give you some more context as to what is going on.
