  • Today for #WolfeRidgeWednesday we go on the road with the 17VS Vertical Log Splitter. We talk about the ease of towing, split some wood, and save an ugly stump piece for the end of the video.
The 17VS in this video is the standard configuration with added optional LED taillights and overhead LED flood lights. The 17VS is also available with an attached conveyor and upgraded engine - the 17VS-C. Additionally we just released the 17VS-E which is powered by a single phase electric motor.

I spent today, one of the hotter humid days, out splitting with the 17VS. Never had any intentions of even splitting wood today. I ended up filling a stacked basket and was drenched in sweat. Great workout and a blast of a machine to run. Thank you Bob!

@@OneEyeCustoms how is the VS to use on a hot and humid day compared to other splitters you've used?

@@thefirewooddoctor they all suck to run on a hot humid day, but something about the vertical splitters that just makes them more fun to run.

At 23:36 when you let the one log laying down have it about 3 times before it gave in was pretty funny. Have to add that to my repertoire for those twisted ones :-)

:) twist it, flip it, turn it, flop it, spin it, rotate it, - 17vs is WAY more fun than a horizontal. Good vid, Bob! Excellent point at end (not worth it).

Love these videos! I’m very interested in this machine primarily for smokers and fire pits. I’m curious what the process would be for making chunks…split and then take it to a bandsaw or some other saw or start out with smaller rounds?
