Sage Sonic vs Payload vs Maverick - Choosing a mid-price Sage 6wt

Sage has some incredible 6wt mid-priced rods, but how do you know which is the right rod for you? 6wts are great for Sea Run Cutthroat Trout in Puget Sound, bass in local lakes, small bonefish in the Caribbean, smaller salmon like pinks and coho, and larger trout like Alaska rainbows/Montana Browns/etc.

Hi Shane, for fishing puget sound, I’d personally go with a 9’ 7wt sonic.

The Igniter is definitely fast action. Faster than any of these 3 I reviewed. And, it's one of their high end rods, in the category of the X and Salt HD. For what I do, I like the X much better. In fact, the X is one of my favorite rods of all time!
