  • Sage has some incredible 6wt mid-priced rods, but how do you know which is the right rod for you? 6wts are great for Sea Run Cutthroat Trout in Puget Sound, bass in local lakes, small bonefish in the Caribbean, smaller salmon like pinks and coho, and larger trout like Alaska rainbows/Montana Browns/etc.

Ok, so if I was looking for a rod for fall Coho which of these would you recommend? Also 8 or 9 weight? Thanks for the entertaining videos.

Hi Shane, for fishing puget sound, I’d personally go with a 9’ 7wt sonic.

What do you think about the Igniter??

The Igniter is definitely fast action. Faster than any of these 3 I reviewed. And, it's one of their high end rods, in the category of the X and Salt HD. For what I do, I like the X much better. In fact, the X is one of my favorite rods of all time!
