    My planning system is set up based off of you and Brandy Michelle Plans. It works the best for me and my season of life. I love watching both of you plan, because our brains work very similar. I get so many tips from you both, and I get so much accomplished when I use the system. This is not always the case because you know life happens but it having it in place is easy for me to go back to it and take off. I would love to see you do a series on GTD like Brandy did.

      I think I will do the series. Probably on September after I finish my back to school series because I will fully be using all of my sections.

    This is SO MOTIVATING. I didn’t think I’d watch a 36 min video, but it was chocked full of good, practical advice! Can’t wait to revamp my system!

    Thanks for this tutorial video. Added it to my “Best of” list.
    I appreciated hearing about how Shiny Object Syndrome and Cool Task Manager App Syndrome (even New Planner Syndrome??) can complicate things, and how much more effective it can be to develop a simple, workable planning system.
    And thanks for addressing the long, running “Next Actions” list, and the confusion it can bring when it’s time to DO. That’s me, right there, to the point that I waste a few minutes looking at or scrolling through that monster list, feel the anxiety rising, and quickly sigh and snap my planner shut or phone off, and pick a random task that I may be able to finish in the few moments I have available.
    And because of that, I start to feel like planning is a waste of time...a way to procrastinate, even. ☹️😳😒
    So. I’m inspired. Time to start implementing some of what you’ve shared here.

      This is exactly what I go through ... It feels so very out of control! I have a personal planner, my work digital calendar, 2 work calendars and a running To Do list ...
      This video has definitely inspired me to toss a lot of it out! Simple works best!

    Of course we want to see a GTD series! I’ve got David Allen’s newer book on my shelf and after watching this video I’m itching to read it now. With GTD, I was turned off by how basically everything is a project. I don’t need to over complicate things like that-I can come up with plenty of ways to over complicate things on my own!
    Sorry I don’t recall-have you made any videos dedicated to just how you have tried tracking your migraines and other health issues?

    • @antonishapolitepeoples
      @antonishapolitepeoples  Před 6 lety +2

      I neve made a specific video because I never nailed down a system lol. I ended up just using my monthly or weekly habit trackers. I've been on a great med combo that has all but eliminated them. I had to stop taking my meds because of the pregnancy but I have been lucky in that I haven't really had any. Guess those preggo hormones are paying off in a good way lol.

      So glad you've been feeling better! I hope it continues after baby #3 comes along. I just thought I would ask because I'm working with a new doctor and she wants me to keep a migraine/pain log. I have the HealthMinder wellness journal and really like it...but for reasons I'm not completely sure about, haven't been using it regularly. Obviously, I need to get her better data than a day here and there.

    Thank you so much for doing this video! I'm in the process of revamping my planning system and strategies, and your videos along with Brandy Michelle plans videos are really speaking to how I want to organize my goals and tasks. And you're right about how when you put in that time and effort to process everything, then executing it doesnt have to be as frustrating or complicated :)

    I guess i'm slow but i just can't wrap all this around organizing my apartment hot spots. Stacks of dishes, all my bathroom cosmetics & makeup, boxes of backlog papers binders & desk supplies, tools equipment & materials for converting my van.
    I pretty much have my planner & calender stuff under control but these other areas are driving me crazy .. esp since i'm in the throes of severe back pain & medical appts.

    • @antonishapolitepeoples
      @antonishapolitepeoples  Před 4 lety +1

      You could take all of those organizing projects and tasks and use this system to break them down and get them in your planner and scheduled on your calendar. This is just one of many task and project management systems.

    Thank you for the video! Very detailed and through. Will this type of system work for people that are super busy with tasks ? I would honestly love to be this detailed but my life is so hectic and busy I wouldn’t even have to time in the day to plan this way. Yet there was areas of my life that are so crazy that I could benefit it 😩

    • @antonishapolitepeoples
      @antonishapolitepeoples  Před 5 lety +1

      It definitely would. The initial setup is what takes so long but maintaining the system week to week doesn't take long at all. I've just gone back to work full time on top of all the other crazy busy I had going on so I will be re-doing all of this. Hopefully I'll be back on YT by this summer with updated setups.

    I'm verry happy that you review the system GTD on your big happy plnner. My question is, why you'r not using the weekly on the happy planner but using another system inserts instead?

    • @antonishapolitepeoples
      @antonishapolitepeoples  Před 6 lety

      I really need to time block and the big happy planner does not have any hourly options. I see the hourly half sheets you can add in but I need to see my husband and family's schedule for the entire week to see where I can slot in my projects and tasks. I keep the BHP pages as well as a whole bunch of undated ones so I can always go back to them but in this current season I need hourly lol.

    This video is so informative. I still struggle on what to do next. I have a task to get email to zero. Would that be a next action or a project? I can’t do it in one sitting with over 600 emails. Where would you put that? I can’t wait for your next video that you mentioned in the end because I think that’s where I struggle. Thanks in advance!

    • @antonishapolitepeoples
      @antonishapolitepeoples  Před 6 lety +3

      First, if you have that many emails, know that getting to inbox zero is a PROJECT and not a task. Making that distinction in your mind will have you approach it in a different way. The next step is just like the GTD workflow, process. Create folders in your email for "to read" and "to action." Process your inbox into those 2 folders, deleting anything you know you don't want and acting on anything that can be done in 2 minutes or less. Depending on how much time you have, you may have to do this task a few times. Then schedule time to work on each of those folders. Again, you may have to do it in multiple sittings.

    • @briannab5296
      @briannab5296 Před 4 lety +2

      Oh Cecilia .. i'm late here so i don't know if your question is still relevant .. the quickest way i've found to go thru & delete emails & organize the rest is to click the upper right drop down menu and click on EDIT, then click SORT ALPHBETICALLY.
      Then click the ALL button on upper left side. Now scroll down thru the emails and UNclick the ones you want to read. When you get to the bottom of the emails list click DELETE. Whats left are the ones you want to read. You can create folders for each category of them in case you want to save any of them for any reason.... This method is super quick and ooooh so satisfying when you're done. 😉
