Maybe the greatest singular performance in rock history. Led Zeppelin were full blown rock gods that night 50 years ago.
The double necked guitar is both a 12 string, for most of the performance and a 6 string for THE guitar solo by Jimmy Page.
John Bonham, the drummer, was the best drummer of all time. The band broke up when Bonham died from choking on his own vomit during a drinking binge.
The shirt Robert is wearing is supposedly a blouse from his girlfriend.

It's called a double entendre Dan...come on Man. I made sure my Mom never heard this song in my groovy quadrophinic stereo system. She enjoyed some of the others tho including Stairway to Heaven. Dan, I know u r not that naive.
You can play this band at any bar today and ppl will know the music and groove to it. 54 years ago and still holds up. not many bands have that power. plus Robert Plant is one of the most captivating front men i’ve ever seen. you simply can’t look away. (his music w bluegrass songstress Alison Krauss is also incredible)

They were definitely cutting edge and I consider them the very foundation of metal as we know it. Saw Black Sabbath in 1971. They headlined a show that started with Yes❣️ then came Alice Cooper? Literally mind blowing and honestly, Black Sabbath just couldn't top those opening acts. It was a very memorable night and a weird combination. Lol I don't remember much of black sabbath but that probably wasn't their fault.🥴☮️
