I see a couple of our Fijian boys on both sides and as a Fijian myself Im proud of their contribution to the British Army in both War and sports. Totoka na qito.
Absolutely agree I’m fully British but I’ve always hd the upmost respect for Fijians that join the British army
100%, my friend. The contribution made by Commonwealth soldiers is immense. Fijians, West Indians, Nepalese to name a few. Compare their contribution to that of non-Brits living here. Was proud to serve with a couple of lads from overseas territories when I served.
Always had mad respect for the Fijians, top class blokes every one I’ve met

As an Irish fan, I never even knew there was a British army v navy rugby competition. Have to say the rugby was top notch and even more exciting than the professional semi finals played this weekend. Very impressive !

At first I thought this was Army/Navy in the US. Then I saw there were actually people in the stands and was quickly clued in.

Depends. Current laws make mauls a legalized obstruction instrument. Before hand, the "spearhead" of the maul was the ball carrier and was pushed forward by his/her teammates biding on from behind. The maul would have to stop before the ball could be shuttled back, usually to the half back or an acting half, or the ball carrier would break away from the maul with a few binding behind in support, as if indeed rolling away from the original pack in the maul in one direction or the other, left or right.

My first watch (CZcams stream). Never seen so many points in a match come from rolling mauls. I thought it was game over after 20 mins. I’m ex-Army. Felt a bit gutted. But what a game. Navy were always in it. At times it seemed as though the Army had blown it. You never know. Credit to both service sides for a cracking match. 🗡️ ⚓️

Not quite sure why the ref penalised him to be honest, the tackler didn't release and didn't have hands on the ball, so I don't understand how he was deemed to be holding on so quickly?

Went to the game for the first time in 8 years. Used to go most years. Such a pity the atmosphere has been killed off in the car parks and around the ground! It’s sterile compared to how it used to be! Seems like the fun police have sucked the life out of this event as well 😢

I don't see the penalty that set up the final try by Army. It was a rather quick whistle after the tackle was made on the Navy ball carrier.

Well, Fiji was a Crown colony until 1970 when they gained their independence...they even have the Union Jack still in the top left side of their flag so it makes sense that some would want to enlist.

Great match. Before kick off note there was an Army band that played. Take note RFU for international matches and have the same for National Anthems like all other countries do in 6 Nations. Some screeching woman freezing to death in a strapless dress is awful.
