  • SWW patron, Wilma Malcolmson makes colour blending look effortless - as is evident in her beautiful knitwear designs and the Wool Week Crofter’s and Katie’s Kep.
From her studio, Wilma explains how she takes colour inspiration from her surroundings, be it nature, a picture or a piece of crockery, and how she’s always on the lookout for the small touches to help bring her Fair Isle patterns alive.

Thank you for making this video. The color combinations are all so beautiful. I especially fancy the seaweed at the seashore motif. It seems colors and their combinations go on forever.

My first introduction to your work was Katie’s Kep, and I fell in love with it. You were so generous with your praise and encouragement to all of us; it was such a thrill when I read your comment on my own work. A million thanks.

I loved learning about the Vermeer cushion. I have been incorporating natural colors lately and your suggestions for how to place the colors was really helpful.
