Spinning as health therapy, that's the best reason for spinning I have ever heard, Thank you. I am so ready to start spinning again after almost ten years of stress, ha, ha, ha. Lovely filming. Greetings from Australia.

There are so many wonderful things about this film, but most of all I think it is a good lesson that you don't have to have all of the incredibly expensive equipment to make lovely yarn. Never again will I lament the high cost of a hackle or Valkyrie combs because I know that with patience and skill one can get by just fine with a small metal dog comb. There isn't only one way. There are as many ways to solve this problem as there are spinners. So now I shall go back to spinning my fine yarns with my electric eel wheel nano from dreaming robots that cost only $100 US and I will process my fleeces as I see fit. And I won't let anyone shame me for not having thousands of dollars worth of kit. It is about the love of the feeling of the wool in the hand, of making--that's what this is about.

I loved Sue’s comment about spinning being good for getting rid of stress! I returned to University in my early 30’s. Organic chemistry was a particular trial. I’d come home, sit down at my wheel and spin until I got a nice even thread. Then I’d let my dogs loose and make dinner, much more calm and settled.

Sue - thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience, and your love of what you do. I really do feel that our world-wide community of spinners is so special - no matter where we are from we have so much in common and always something to learn from each other. Kindest regards from Tasmania.

Thank you so very much 😊
We bought 3 Shetland sheep this year and I have their fleeces waiting...I now feel completely inspired to go through the process of getting the neck fibres and making some fiiiiine yarn 🧶
I have other breeds of sheep but the curiosity of Shetland sheep has always been there.
They are THE most skittish sheep we have and can jump up to the height of my shoulder when we try to collect them for shearing hoof trimming or medicine 😆
I hope I can do justice to their fibres!

I bought an Ashford Kiwi 3 about a year ago. Not quite spinning yarn I'm happy with and still having problems with tension, so it's not quite an anti-stress reliever yet! I joined a local guild and they are super helpful, so I can see I will be in a stress free zone soon!

Worsted spinning that fine needs that twist or the yarn will break all the time. It is wonderful to see a true craftsman at work.

?Cut the pension, freeze the old, even less people to pay a pension, more money for immigrants. Why can't they put them on boats and ship them back to France? they sent them here.
