Great video! I'm setting up my own authority and am about to launch at the end of this month. It's been a journey already but i'm pretty excited to get going.
How's your journey coming along so far? Curious because I'm looking to start myself...
T.i.a
@@getrightentertainment9564 As in all things, getting started is the most time consuming and difficult part of the journey. However, once set up it's great. The earning potential is unlimited. I encourage you to start and wish you luck in your journey. It's very rewarding running your own business.
@@johnrex18 appreciate your response!
Fire ass video bro!!! We got the best setups hands down!
Hell yeah bro!! 💪🏽💯💯 appreciate the love man!
Cool. I have the 1975 Chevy Silverado C30 1 tone Dually crew cab Camper special. It is rated at the 10,000 GVWR due to it coming with the tow package set-up straight from the factory.
I am starting my own hotshot trucking.. and honestly this helps a lot. I now understand what I wasn't on my set up. You guys gave a thorough look at what is needed and in doing so I can now set up an effective spreadsheet showing the parts going on and get accurate estimates for set up. I honestly can not thank you enough. Tangible information is key and this gave real informationw without gatekeeping.
Man glad this was helpful and appreciate your feedback. This is exactly why we did this 🫡💯
Update?
@HotshotMacc VERY HELPFUL!! quick question, what about paperwork for pick up and drop off?? Also can you explain leasing vs setting up your own authority??

New subscriber!!!🔥🔥🔥
Welcome to the channel bro 💪🏽💯
Finally found the perfect video
Good to hear.
Thank you for the info. I'm a company truck driver of 10+ years, and I think it's time to work for myself.
You’re welcome bro!! Keep doing that research!
Very informative, if there is anyone out there watching this from Louisiana. Please chime in and share your wealth of knowledge.
Did you find any more information about LA. I’m interested also.
Great video.
Thanks!
awesome setup brother I run a Cargo Van and a Box truck keep up the good work
Thanks bro appreciate it man! Keep running it up out there 💯
What a great informative video. I obviously did not do my home work first and went out an bought a 2024 Chevy dually.. I figured bigger truck bigger loads, not taking into consideration of the 26k law for non cdl. Shit do I sell my dwr while its only has 4k miles on it and get a 2500 The funny thing is, my GF told me to just get a 2500 to start... :)
Good information
Thank you
Thanks!
Thanks you!
Great info. I’m a hazmat cdl company driver. Thinking about doing the switch….
Thanks!! Your loaded!
Enjoyable vid, I’m hauling my own stuff and helping people move. I’ve got a 28’ gutted RV and added a tailgate/ ramp. As I listen my question is can I use my RV 5th wheel latch, is there regs on which setup is required? I do like the ease of pulling a handle to drop the trailer, like the big boys. Hooking up is a breeze.
More solid content brother! I'm told by the 107 two more weeks until I'm earning. Hope to see ya out there. Stay safe and as usual I appreciate it ya man!!
Man that’s awesome bro! Appreciate the love and support!
Define the type of search we should look for
Hotshot trucking companies to lease on to.
Truck driving positions
Lease on opportunities for trucking.
Something of that nature
Perfect example of networking!
🫡💯
just getting started ... that was right on time brother. I went with a RAM 3500 single axle ... looking to get a 28+5 big tex. be safe out there
What type of insurance/coverage you need?
@@J__7777 I think the million dollar coverage and 100,000$ cargo van
Hi I’m looking to start my own hotshot business I have been doing a lot of research looking at a lot of videos doing a lot of reading doing a lot of writing and I came across one video the lead

That's what's up bro, congratulations. Check out some of the resources I have in my description. We have a FB group and Clubhouse.
Lol, OK I will do thank you but I’m a lady
Trying to get started
I'm running a Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel with a PJ 40 foot Straight Deck with 7k axels on 14 ply.......Non-CDL Hotshot. GVWR is 10k on truck 15,680 on trailer....Working on getting my CDL now. Love you videos man.....keep it up
My is 2500 40 foot ram 2020 2 tarps 50 galon disel ondertool box 14 ply 15800 total weight non cdl fierro
@@rodolforodriguez2883 compa just got my cdl. interested in a 22gn 40' (23900gvw) what truck would you recommend? thinkg of a 3500 but dont if i need the high output 6.7 cummings. does the gcvwr and towing capacity matter? any insight would be helpful vato gracias.
Man that’s a perfect set up! Wish I had me a 40ft, but same here just got my CLP. Appreciate the love and support bro! Keep grinding 💪🏽💯
Nice! Where did you get your fuel tank?
Yes, 3500 or bigger with the high output 6.7 Cummins
Great video , how is business lately with all these shortages going on.
Used to have CDL, not anymore, but really interested to pull stuff with truck. Since I am a veteran and just trying to keep myself occupied
We have a 2019 Ford F-350 XLT Super Duty with a BigTex 16GN 25+5MR. The GVWR for trailer is 14,500 and truck is 11,500. The curb weight with a full tank of diesel/DEF, equipment, luggage, etc. is 15,880. We don’t have an auxiliary fuel tank or toolbox.
Man those are beautiful numbers. Did you have to get that 16gn derated?
@@HotshotMacc Yeah, thanks! We derated the trailer from 16,500 to 14,500. We started hauling on August 19th with our new interstate motor carrier operating authority. Our gross income for the first week was $7,350.
Your trailer is rated to heavy, ask bigtex to issue a new vin with a 9990 rating
@@isaiahwilson8640 how do I go about getting a trailer derated??
10-4 driver appreciation the knowledge!!! ✌🏽I’m considering this but have a class A any ideas thx migo ✌🏽
Thanks mac and clayton ,its was awesome having you guys together i really appreciate learning something from you as i preparing to start my hotshot company .stay blessed
Definitely brother! Glad it helped out a bit! Good luck with everything bro and just continue to do the research 💪🏽💯
How's it going so far?
Macc do you have to run a log book being non cdl? Appreciate all the info, been waiting for a indepth video ✅thx
Yes you do. All commercial OTR driving requires a log.
getting your CDL-A opens up so many more opportunities.
That’s why we are getting it
what truck would you recommend for a 22gn? just got my cdl. thanks in advance
BRUH..... THAT WAS LIKE COLLEGE IN 14 MINUTES ..I HOPE THE LEAST YALL DOING IS PAYING ATTENTION ....MACC AND CLAYTON COULD HAVE SOLD THIS TO US...THANKS MY BROTHERS!! I PROMISE YALL JUST CHANGED MY LIFE...........
Aye bro I appreciate you showing your appreciation man! Goad this helped out brotha! It’s definitely valuable info that gets looked over all the time! Thanks for the support my man 💪🏽💯
22 thought I heard wrong I had to replay it again to make sure I was hearing right ✅️
Yessir!
Great info, guys! Question: it's one thing to fill the top line with revenue, it's another thing to keep the bottom line above board as much as you can too. So - costs. I imagine, your salary, fuel, insurance are the biggies. What say you? How does your bottom lines flush out?
You can figure around 40% operating cost. Obviously depends on several factors but roughly
Good information, I’ve had a dually for 11 years and haven’t done anything with it :/
Excellent video Mac I love your content just a quick question do you think that the new laws they're proposing in California that "Asian Mai" is talking about will affect the small guy doing non CDL delivery such as yourself...?👍🍺
Appreciate that bro. Man you never know, I’m sure it will have some affect on non cdl operators somewhere down the line so we just gotta pay attention and do everything we can to stay ahead bro. I’m getting my cdl for sure.
Yeah with all the shortages across the country you can be assured California will do ALL they can to not make it Better!
My 97' F350 dually crewcab 4x4 is GVW is 9,700, my trailer is a triple axle 16,000 GVW no CDL required.
What brand tires for you guys prefer for both truck and trailer? Have you noticed any variations with longevity and/or fuel economy?
Thanks for putting this info out there. I am going to run non cdl to start. Based my setup off of you guys. I ended up with a 2013 Bighorn and a 32ft PJ. I'm GVWR'd at 15680 trailer, 10k truck. Hope to be on the road in the next week.
Lmk how it goes been thinking about it
I'm on the same page bro keep us posted
How's the loads and mileage so far?
Making at least 2K a week profit?
What sort of truck did you buy? I have a RAM 1500 that's got a 5.7 HEMI so it can tow, but maybe I should jump to a 2500 or 3500....go big or go home. What you have got is probably what I will end up starting with. Thanks! - Tom
So did you get any loads ?
The best setup is one that cost upfront doesn't break the bank...
Has very low run cost
Is easy to maintain
Parts are easy to find
Can stop on a dime - pull a tank up any mountain and gets the job done with out braking down....
💯
