I bought a Kia Seltos Sport in November. I have no complaints about it so far. I did a lot of research before my purchase and this car stood out from the crowd on paper and now does in real life too. No regets - a beautiful car to look at and to drive.

But, why Seltos in Philippines, the features are downgrade than Indonesia ? In Indonesia we have 2 options for Engine, 1.4 Turbo with Dual Clutch transmission or 1.5 T Diesel, Sunroof, rear ac, wireless charging, arm rest, wireless apple carplay and android auto but cooler seater and premium speakers are options for upgrade

Great review. You have a good, casual, and comfortable review style.
It's very different from what is being sold in India. We have all those things you said you expected from a car in this price range that is the sunroof, rear AC vents, air purifier, HUD, rear middle arm rest, 10.25 inch infotainment screen and many more. Don't know why KIA is not supplying all these features at your place..my guess would be cost-cutting or market demand.

In India we get a lot more features like sunroof, ventilated rider and passenger seats, rear ac vents, air purifier, illuminated speakers, heads up display, and a color display which sits between the speedo and the rpm. This car comes with a 1.4 turbo which makes 138 bhp and costs nearly as much as the car you showed in your video.
Import taxes and other sorts of taxes make it expensive. If they include those features you've mentioned, the price would be unacceptable. It's alread too high to begin with.

1. Its the people who buy them are to blame, majority of said people buy it because “it looks cool and second they settle for these types of cars and say “wow a toyota” and hands over their money without even thinking hard on what they’re spending on. 2. It’s the tax imposed on said cars, due to this cars are often marked up even higher just to break even
1 and 2. Underspecd due to the import taxes which raises the car's price. If they offered a high speccd car, they'd be caught between selling it at a ridiculous price or sell it at a loss. So, they offer as much spec as they are able to without losing bank. And also, yes, I would also agree with the previous comment, there are just some rich people that go for the looks, don't mind or care for the specs and usually have a brand loyalty.

My Seltos is a 1.6L DCT turbo engine AWD. I wonder how different it could be be with the top variant in Philippines cuz its sports mode is really fast.

Kia really up the ante with their lineup,the Kia stinger,the telluride and now the seltos,wow! With car market flooded with Cheap Chinese vehicles with unproven reliability,I would definitely stick with known with good brands that won’t hurt your pockets and Kia is one on the RISE!

Keep an eye on your 2.0 L engine • 2021 Kia Seltos manufactured from Nov. 20, 2019, through Oct. 15, 2020.
The problem: The piston oil rings for the 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine may not have been properly heat-treated, risking engine damage.
The fix: Dealerships will inspect the engine and add software to alert of a detected problem. In some cases, the engine may be replaced.

Here in India, we get 3 engine options a 1.5L NA engine producing only 113hp and 144nm of torque mated to a 6speed MT and an IVT box, a 1.5L T-GDI engine producing 158hp and 250NM torque mated to a 6speed IMT and a 7speed DCT box and a 1.5L Diesel which produces 115hp and 250NM of torque mated to a 6IMT and 6AT(TC box). The pre-facelift version also had 3 option, the difference being the 1.5TGDI motor, that used to be a 1.4TGDI motor producing 138HP and 242NM.. so a lot of option tbh to choose from..

Btw, how is Kia's reliability these days? When I was a kid, I remember it for its bad reputation. More than 20yrs have passed already, how reliable are they now? I have a Honda Mobilio 2016, and we're planning to replace it early next year and I'm considering the base variant of Seltos (among other models such as BRV, Ecosport, T-Cross, XL7, or even the top of the line Mobilio). Are Kias reliable these days?
Korean car brands are reliable now. Although the supply chain of their parts aren't up to par with the Japanese as of yet, but it won't be a dealbreaker, just a tad bit slower at times.
It's the Chinese cars' turn to be in the hot seat now.

Reason Geely could price their vehicles aggressively is they are a relatively new brand. Common practice in the auto industry, throw all the bells and whistles for an affordable price.

In india it's like 1.5 Petrol, 1.5 Diesel both producing 115hp. There is one more engine 1.4 Turbo charged petrol producing 140hp. We have a smaller wheelbase. So it's alittle smaller and lighter

Suzuki nakadrive na ako ng previous model Vitara di maganda feel niya. Masyadong magaan yung manibela di maganda at safe sa high speeds. Ang KIA mas planted sa road mas confident ka sa stability. Euro tuned talaga
Yung Hyundai Kona masyadong weird ang design. In 10 yrs maganda pa rin itsura ng Seltos, yung Kona laos na hehe

Agree!! KIA Sonet is better designed than the current Stonic which is the only small SUV carried by KIA in the PH now.
In the US we have and an option the SX its 1.6L 4-Cylinder Turbo, Intelligent Variable Transmission
195 lb-ft Torque @1,500 RPM, 175 Horsepower @6,000 RPM with 7-Speed Quick-Shift DCT Automatic. We are lucky we this option.....
In india we get lots of features...like sunroof, rear ac , air purifier,,,and more
In India we have all bells & whistles loaded on the top-spec seltos which is GTX Plus trim & also a bit cheaper.

edit: there are quiet some 2020 crossovers ranging around 1.5m php already fitted with AWD its obvoisly not essential for city driving but this top of the line variant just doesn't seem to fit its price tag.
