On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

Mig 21 bis with R 60s vs A4s (Not Historically Accurate, but whatever)
F-22 Raptor VS Nine North Korean MIG-29's BVR plzkthx
also: NGAD vs F-15 ACTIVE plzkthx
Another idea: SU-57 vs F15 ACTIVE, dogfight, guns only plzkthx
Please do 2 Phantoms vs 28 Egyptian Migs like the Operations Room animated a few weeks back
Could you make a video of a scenario of Israeli airforce giving air support to ground forces trying to prevent a Hezbollah invasion with artillery fire or rockets ?
I love these historical videos. It feels like the old school History Channel "Dogfights" show from 2006 or 2007.
Absolutely loved that show growing up! That plus mythbusters was everything xD
Also, nice username :D
I loved it too!
And honestly, I like GS versions even better.
Back when they showed documentaries instead of reality shows.
They have some episodes of Dogfights on CZcams.
holy shit that show
Bro; these docu-dogfights are GENIUS. You’re scratching a really niche itch, but you’re scratching it soooooo deeply.
From the heart of a lifelong aviation enthusiast who’s been playing flight sims since Spectrum Holobyte was doing the Falcon series… dude THANK YOU.
Thanks brother really appreciate that feedback, thank you for watching.
WWI biplane battles in 1990 via dial-up modems! Those were the days. Yes the Red Baron was a badass, bc he was good - and had a better connection. Easy to detect, Always pissed me off. In '90's, you were primarily against T-1's, no contest vs dial-up.
They shot my 🐫down!
"Hit and run tactics...my engine is shutting down" 😂😂😂
Lol
of course Mig-21 shuts down!, Mig-21 sole purpose is to be an aerial practice target!, what kind of target runs away?
That's because a MiG-21 doesn't have a Sven in the back to restart it
@@fabiosemino2214 I miss Sven
This channel is a one-of-a-kind gem. I appreciate the amount of work and dedication you put into each video, producing such quality material which is both entertaining and informative.
Not to mention hilarious,
True
The best
And he forks the out like they’re ford f150s, the work process is unrealistically streamlined.
Fr
"Engine gave out on me. Piece of s***"
Busted out laughing from that. So funny that things like that are simulated.
love the mig21 content. it's rare from you but an awesome plane.
It's a fun plane I wish you would master it, I think it can dogfight a bit as long as you keep high speeds and use your thrust to weight ratio. Also overspeeding is what stalled your engine. Can't go more than 700 knots of airspeed at low altitudes and can't go faster than mach 2.05 in high altitude. mid alititude is something in between, it's really annoying.
Thanks for the tip, I’ll keep that in mind next time I’m in the mig.
I heard the conpressor stalls when you go from high to low altitude
I'd love to see you do the Air Battle of Ofira, happened in Israel in 1973 when 2 Israeli F4 Phantoms engaged 28 Migs of different varrients.
The Operations Room just did that battle on their channel. I sent a link to it to GS about a month ago. Fingers crossed he does it
@@ballparkjebusiteyeah this guy learned it from there lol
Would love to see Air battle of mansoura
when 160 F4 and A4 engaged 62 migs
Honestly GS is probably better trained and more experienced than most Arabian pilots, especially back in the day
@@michelestefanini5466 what are you talking about?
Egypt camos are fucking gorgeous.
I'm loving the cold war videos you've been uploading recently. Hopefully we'll get to see some 1v1 dogfights between period aircraft in the future.
Hearing GS straight-up cuss out his aircraft was an experience.
11:33 Mirage: "I'll try spinning. That's a good trick. Woaaaaah!"
GS: running away
R-25-300: i'll shut down, yea?
Absolutely perfect video for the upcoming Sinai map! I just wish we had a proper Mirage III in-game. Can't wait for the F-4E to drop, and recreation of events from the War of Attrition, Operation Kavkaz and the October War. Other than a Vietnam map, I can't think of anything with as much potential for recreation of actual historic aerial conflict.
Btw maybe ive missed something, but what are those Mirage IIIs? Looked like its players, so is it a modded plane or so?
I started this going "I wouldn't want to fight a Mirage in a MIG-21. Definitely one of the last match ups I'd want to be a part of. That 3rd fight really proved that point for me lol
And Israel had superior pilots
I really like this documentary style beginning.
How lucky for me! My homeland AND GS flying in a Fishbed in Egyptian colours?! How awesome
P.s if i remember correctly your engine will stall if you go beyond 700 knots
You sir, are correct that’s exactly what happened to the engine
yes! and we don't support Israel either! incredible
@@michelestefanini5466 no one asked u if u supported israel
@@joshthemigpro1733 He doesn't need to, Israel is an apartheid state, even the UN called it that lol.
Awesome vid! I've seen these Migs a lot in Egyptian armed forces museums, definitely a legendary plane over here.
Good video, man. Wish to see more content about Egypt and the Egyptian airforce
Co sidering you've already done the F-22 and the Su-57, try the J-20 vs the P-51
Almost fragged by your own missle... that would've been a helluva story!
I fraged myself in a Tomcat with an AIM-7
@@sparrowlt How the hell did you manage to hit yourself with a passive radar missile? It's guided by the radar from your aircraft, I can't imagine any scenario in which a tomcat could lock itself except maybe a malfunctioning Aim-9
The historical vignettes are really well done - thanks!
Hey GS, been watching your channel for quite some time now over 2 years or 3 lol, keep it up man fucking love these videos ❤
Thank you buddy I appreciate you
@@GrowlingSidewinder no problemo
The Fox 2 tone honestly makes me chuckle for some reason.
That was such a cool video of the kind I had not seen before on the channel with these old hit and run tactics, the drama, the tension. 10/10
I really liked the teamwork with your allied planes. It's very interesting how different it is to a 1v1 dogfight.
That engine timing...rofl...need to borrow Sven from the Tomcat. Hahaha
Viggen, but yes lol
GS fighting that mirage survivor like “The Force is strong with this one.”
I did read that the first aircraft to use a flare to defeat a heat seeking missile was an Israeli reconnaissance aircraft. The pilot was trying everything he could to defeat the missile and decided out of desperation to drop the big flares he used to illuminate targets at night hoping they may collide with the missile. Being a brighter light source the missile went for the flare and exploded allowing the Israeli aircraft to fly away.
Nice video. Good introduction on the history this map is based on.
I really like these "more realistic" types of videos.
I be waiting for his videos to drop so I can watch it during my lunch brake 😂
Same 😂
I don’t think i’ve ever seen you dogfight a J-20 with a berkut. That be pretty funky!
Man the mig 21 is such a cool aircraft it’s basically just a cockpit strapped to a massive jet engine that sounds fricken awesome / I love this old thing
When The Mig's engine suddenly was turned off! I did remember my uncle telling me that happend more than once with him! and trying to get the engine back to work then back to figh! I can't imagine that this game got this details for Mig!
tone on the Mig 21 sounds like something you'd hear in a 50's era sci-fi movie.
Love mig21 fights. I also really like these 'see what's out there' kind of sorties..
I had that engine fail problem two years ago too, happens when you get low and fast afterburner
I'm torn between buying the Viper module and buying your Blackbird sweatshirt.
"guess i'm walking home" lol it's the little pieces of humor that separate this channel from others. u don't need me to tell you how informative and knowledgeable the dogfight commentary is!
Nine minutes in is how so many Thuds and Skyhawks were lost over S.E. Asia to MiGs. Radar directed intercepts by ground stations to slot in exactly like that. It's how they were going to take down our bomber fleets if WWIII ever broke out with B-36's, B-47's and B-52's. Nicely done Growling, it's a textbook example of pure interceptor flight intercepts from that era.
Also we'd love to see If you will make a video with egyptian MiG-25 and israeli F4E phantom dogfight!
I would like to see a later video with IDF Mirage armed with Shafir-2's and the EAF MiG-21 armed with AA-2's
"Never saw the 2nd guy" Yup...famous last words. Great fight and love the videos!!
As a half Egyptian half Russian i find this very cool
That’s an interesting ethnic mix
interesting mix, russia and egypt are great friends
from egypt*
@@andrewrogers3067 yeah, my mom is Russian and my dad is Egyptian so yeah
@@AdhmKassap yeah they are
@@airlightshockZOV ofc your dad will be egyptian xd
Situational awareness is everything.
The Mirage tho!!! 😩😩😩
hello mr sidewinder! thanks for all ur work u do on this channel
I second this; Spit. Vs Felon, and Spit vs F22
He's got a spitfire vs felon from 2 days ago and a spitfire vs raptor from 9 months ago
@@Titere05
You're thinking of the Mustang V Felon and Mustang V Raptor.
Spitfire was the British plane, the P51 Mustang was American.
Thanks sidewinder another banger. This Channel reminds me so much of the history channel show called dog fights I miss that show a lot but your videos have cured that for me
There is no Jewish or Muslim, no Israeli or Egyptian for us, the aircraft jockeys. We just love the planes, and we love everyone who flies them, even in DCS.
Exactly the correct attitude, politics aside to enjoy the aircraft
I do like these historic dogfights!
Also, the mini docs channel is boss too.
I love the resignation tone of the "good kill" LOL.
I was surprised you didn't fight the excellent Mirage!
that Mirage pilot wanted REVENGE
This map is gonna be insane! Surely, they must be adding the mirage III, at some point….
"What a piece of shit" 😂😂😂
Sunset looks epic
Flame out "POS 🤬" 😂 that mad me laugh.. what timing..
You got to do one of these mig-21 hunter killer team missions with Longshot
Im glad to see you have as much luck in the 21 as I do! Lol. Maybe I'll jump back into again
"There were two of them." - The punchline of a very old joke.
That Israeli preemptive strike which almost wiped out the entire Egyptian air force was a well planned, and nearly perfectly executed military strike. Flying under radar (which was also too low for S-2s), the first wave (almost the entire Israeli air force) concentrated on using new-developed munitions to destroy runways, and after a quick refuel and re-arm, returned to finish off those remaining aircraft helplessly stranded on the ground.
why does the mig 21 fox 2 lock tone just feel so egyptian
one of the best vids on the channel, this style is great
Looks like your Thumbs up for the trip home GS. Great video I like the mini doc before the action.
This channel is fucking brilliant. Keep ‘‘em coming.
There's a reason why you keep your radar on, especially when hightailing it home for tea and biscuits - it improves your situational awareness and you know when there are 2 Mirage IIIs and not just 1.
lolol not the mig-21 radar, its blind as a bat and serves only to give away your position.
@@GrowlingSidewinder Good answer. Perhaps you should fly in the dark. Bats are good at that.
how cool is that to be able to order an uber back to home base then fly again with another mig 21
Should ve thrown some Mig-15 & 19s in the mix
A great fight with that Mirage, I was glad he survived in the end.
Another great video. I love realistic scenarios.
GS, love the channel and am a big fan of fighter jets. Especially American. Could you explain the beeping indicator?
almost smoked a passenger car or bus with your wreckage at the end there lol
“My engine is down piece of s***” 😂😂😂
"IT'S A TRAP!"
Admiral Akbar
or
"It's the one you don't see that kills you."
Robert Muldoon
The introduction was amazing..outstanding images 🙌🙌
Slightly related suggestion: Mirage III with 2x Magic (R550) versus Harrier/Sea Harrier with 2x AIM-9L, a la 1982-era Argentina v UK.
Splendid historical segment! 👏
miraculous luck by that civilian bus not getting hit by downed mig-21 there...
My boys finally got me to fly the Mig21 after 2 years of hating on red aircraft. I sold my soul 🤦♂️🤷♂️
That third Mirage was one hell of a fighter.
"My engine is shutting down...piece of $#@!..."
I wonder how many MiG-21 cockpits this has been said in.
Been watching mini docs every night keep up the good work
And the second mirage, you didn't even know was there. Clever girl.
Greetings to everyone, long live Egypt 🇪🇬
تحيا مصر ام الدنيا 🇪🇬
I'd like to see you fly in an "Operation Oprea" mission as an F-15 pilot taking out a nuclear power plant.
Good videos as always.
I am from Germany and relly Like IT wenn i wake Up in the morning there ist a new video. Keep IT up
remember to always put throttle to idle when going negative G in the 21
I love the engine trouble. Failures is something I enjoy in my MSFS modules.
There was a bus that came driving past that last crash site. Maybe you can bus ride instead of walking home. 🤣🤣
That lock tone sound is something else 😂
An amusing use of ew receivers and countermeasures (that probably are not period correct). It would also be amusing if you went without them. Also, those Mirage III's seem a lot more manoeuvrable than the ones I worked on (and had a ride in) in the 1980's. Still highly entertaining though.
Getting serious Dogfights vibs from this...
Do the Hawker Hunter too.
As a Lebanese I agree 💯
I really enjoy the older jet videos. To me it seems like you work harder at killing your enemy.
Also didn't Egypt use MiG19's as well?
That fox 2 tone really sings on the Mig
nice to see the mig -21 getting some love
Oh no! No air combat by Sidewinder. Mig 21 vs Mirage 3 would be great!
Thanks. Love the historical stuff.
I love the history part in the beginning keep it up man
i love your channel man.
