  • In this weeks episode we take you deep into the Otterburn ranges in North Northumberland looking for the derelict Tanks.
unfortunately some of the ranges were 'live' so we couldnt access or find the Tanks, but there's always next time.....

Whereabouts on the range are the tanks - I am want to run my campervan over the range when I do the NL250 for the second time - just for something else to drive around and see the scenery, and was curious as to wether I will be able to pass close to the tanks, as I was thinking photo opportunities.
Excellent video - as it has given me a few ideas even if I cannot find the tanks.

We never actually found the tanks as there were a lot of the ranges in use. I do believe if you Google map search the area, it takes you to them - although be mindful the ranges can be in use and access is then restricted.
Many thanks for the comments and taking the time to watch

I have it on very good authority that otters have water proof seals on their pockets nowadays m8. Unless you're talking about the otter 1.00
Everything from otter 1.01 should have the waterproofing, and some early models have indeed been modified with an aftermarket patch 👍👍
    Another ace video m8 👍

The tanks are in restricted areas. Impact zones.
    That’s what gets shelled/artillery barraged.
You won’t get eyes on there chaps.

Thanks buddy. We have been back and found them as long as the ranges aren't live you're good to go explore 👍

@@BikingBuddies Like you say when the range is "Open" - you're ok to have a ride round. However read the signs - there can be some live artillery
"shells" to be found (sometimes near roads) - you never touch them - they may explode and kill you & anyone else who happens to be close by.
Likewise the derelict target tanks - some of the bodywork that's ripped open has extremely sharp edges - very easy to get a nasty cut climbing on them -
oh and obviously everything is covered in sheep's crap !! Great video - go up to the top end of the range - West of Alwinton - dramatic scenery & great roads for bikes and Landrovers driven by maniacs !!
