For me figures are ESSENTIAL for a diorama. They make a scene much more alive and realistic.
I totally agree!
I would even say figures are essential for any model since they help show how big the models around it actually are - hell, a regular doorway to a house could be the gates to Kazad-Dum if there are no figures to show what it is (exaggerated, I know). I have half a mind to start building cars in 1/24 scale (tried it once and it was pretty easy, but getting that smooth finish is a pita), and I would add figures to them as well, for that reason.
Awesome! I'm so glad that you do such great tutorials for painting figures, I recently did a Tiger commander and now I need to do the ammo loading crew guys! I am also very happy that Mrs. Brews is doing good!
Thank you so much - I really appreciate it! 😁
@@SpruesNBrews no problem!
Outstanding work my friend, as always. Thank you for sharing your personal favorites and techniques. Kudos!
Thanks so much! 😁
Finally, long been waiting for, color figure lesson. So happy I got to learn new skill and technique! I learned a lot from your previous VLOGs figure technique. Thank you showing the 1st Flat Clear and 2nd Matte Varnish. Finally understood on the weathering part.
Ah that's great! I'm really glad to hear it!
@@SpruesNBrews thanks to you too, shows me how to use properly for hand brush, the correct way to protect coloring during process and after process of those matte varnish. A fun learning process.
Thanks, great presentation. Adding a lot of colors makes the figures more realistic. After all , once in the field it all changes quickly. It's interesting there are decals for figures. Change of subject - I saw a "history" series on CZcams about the Lancaster. They showed a version that was produced with radial engines - made the Lancaster really look odd, but I think it would make an interesting looking combo. Do you know if they ever made a lot of the radial engine version? Cheers.
Thank you! And that's very interesting about the lanc, I've never heard of one with the radials! I'll have to check it out 👍
Another outstanding job with detail painting. Nice tutorial! For figure painting just three words...patience, patience, patience.
Thank you! And you're right! 👍
Another awesome video. Really dig the short and concise stuff. Keep it up!
Thank you very much! 😁
Looks amazing! Ty for making all these tutorials.
Thanks for watching!
Top notch figures, tips and paint job!👍👍
Thank you very much - I appreciate it!
Very nicely done
Thank you very much!
Many thanks for your great vids and a big hello from the UK🇬🇧. I am new to figure painting and this video has helped alot. I think your simple and concise instructions will help many other modellers like myself, and the results you achieve are fantastic. I have a couple of questions, firstly do you use the dark wash on the faces too and secondly how long do you leave the wash before removing with white spirit. Once again many thanks and I look forward to many more great vids.
This has helped me bring my figures to another level, and as I get used to more techniques and tools, I'll be referring to this whole playlist, great stuff! I finally went out and got a wash to try out, my hobby shop didn't have any AMMO Mig dark wash, only a couple of Vallejo washes. Is Vallejo black wash suitable to use in place of the dark wash? I also have Tamiya black, dark grey, and grey panel line accent colors.
Yes, Tamiya panel line accent will be a good substitute because they are very similar to ammo. (Only the black and brown)
Would love to see you do a video on german infantry with helmets or even some German figures that have the camouflaged coats
For sure! That would be a fun one 👍
Excellent, excellent work... Beautiful figure and I really love work on figure... Every diorama it's alive with him... Cheers bro 🍻🍻🍻👋👋👋
Thank you! I really appreciate it. Cheers! 🍻
Amazing work thank you for the tutorial! Have you ever tried thought about using paint for wargaming? (Citadel and Army Painter)
Thank you! I'd like to pick some up - I've heard good things!
Your hands are so steady very impressive!
I try my best - thank you!!
Great tutorial 👍
Thanks very much!
Great vid, any 1:72 tips?
Amazing...just know that the stone grey trousers only work for early war. By midwar they had changed to field grey. Also second the comment about darker grey-green for the gas can. There was a shade of dark field grey the Germans used for helmets, mess tins, gas cans, etc.
Great video - I am new to hobby. If I do not air brush but simply brush paint for now is a respirator needed? Thank you & Happy New Year!
You only need a respirator if you're airbrushing (because the paint particles are mixing into the air). You should be all set if you're just hand painting liquid paint 👍
Very cool idea with doing a remake👌🍻
Thanks! Figured it was a good one to rework 👍
Please show us how to paint a 1/35 tamiya german tank commader
I'll add it to the list!! Thanks 👍
How do you break the superglue Bond from the screw
What clear coat should you add to German vehicles and what should you add with American vehicles?
I note on this video you do not spray from the top a satin white highlight over the black basecoat. Any reason?
Hi Sprues,
are the Vallejo used for the jacket and trousers mixed with other colours? Because from the video they look darker than I remember them.
Hey there! Good question - these paints are not mixed, maybe it's the lighting though! 👍
Do you have any videos on making extra equipment for your infantry figures ?.For example, the gear you see on German y webbing ?.
I don't, but that's a great idea! I'll try to shoot something like that soon 👍
Sorry for being late, but I was wondering why you use a black primer instead of a grey one or does it really matter.
Also love the channel as you explain things in simple terms which makes painting a lot easier.
It's really up to personal preference! I like black, but I've used grey primers as well. Both work well!
Are you using magnifying glasses? Because I always do when painting figures, can't imagine going without.
Are you using Gloss Black Primer or the flat Black Primer is there any pros or cons on the gloss or flat primer ?
Either should work just fine!
Do you thin your paint?
Have you done any models from WWI?
I haven't yet! But I'd really like to someday soon 👍
The only thing I can see you didn't do was the white piping around the collar for NCO's.
It’s still hard for me to process the fact that they are like two inches tall!
Their just so so so good!
Haha right? It's a bit crazy - thank you!
Where to buy them from
Amazon, the Tamiya website, in person hobby shops or second hand off like eBay or Mercari
Thank you for sharing and the content; Is the AMMO Enamel Wash similar to an "Oil Paint Wash"?
Thanks for watching! It's an enamel-based product, so it's a different thinning agent. It's a little more watery than oil-based products 👍
the gas mask box should be green
Ahh thanks!
perfecto...........🙂🙂🙂
Thank you! 😁👍
And the flesh???
You can use light skin tones and slightly darker skin tones for the areas that are supposed to be darker
👌👍
👍😁
