Through Ancestry, I discovered that George Washington’s grandfather is my 11x great grandfather on my maternal side. Louis L’Amour wrote a book about a 3rd great grand-uncle who was a notorious desperado.
WOW! What a discovery, Thelma!
My great grandaunt was related to General George Washington who was of English & American landed gentry.
George Washington is my 6th cousin 7X removed on my Dad's side. 🤩
Sarah and Wells couldn't be any more appealing -- I love the format, family history and production values of "2 Lies & A Leaf"!
Skirvin is a big and famous name here in Oklahoma too. Definitely a connection between her family and the prestigious Skirvin Hotel.
Okay, I wrote the above before they talked about the Skirvin Hotel 😆
Well, now we know! 😉 There's just so much to discover in our own families!
@@AncestryUS Agreed!
Oh my gosh the Skirvin hotel! I live in Oklahoma City and have heard many tales about it’s paranormal activity. What a cool piece of history!
Through ancestry I have found that I am the 1st cousin 15x removed to the great French Explorer named Jacques Cartier.
Oh I love Wells!!!
Nice video
Sarah,,,your family originates from the Melungeon peoples,,,who are Portugese people who were explorers of this continent.....look up the history if the Melungeon peoples of the Apalachian mountains......very interesting.....How did I know???...the family name Cannady was one of the names of the Melungeon peoples of the SE USA.....
My great great grandfather was a Melungeon from Lecher County Kentucky. His Dad fought Union during the Civil War, then George Washington Collins decided to elope with the next door neighbor's endentured bond servant girl, Katherine Morton & go several hours north into our section of North Eastern Kentucky, Carter County.
That was a myth passed down to cover the real truth in a racist time. The dna shows they come from Melungeons are the offspring of sub-Saharan African men and white women of northern or central European origin. Many of then descend from white female indentured servants who had children with enslaved black men. Because their mother's were free they weren't enslaved
Can you please do Rufus and Martha Wainwright (and Loudoun III as well) doing this? It would be interesting.
Fact
Interesting. I'm a Canaday descendant too!
Dolores J. Rush, I also have Canaday's in my tree (Patrick H. Canaday 1829-1821)
@@wellman0708 Cool beans cuz! Do you have a copy of @DawnDBoyerPhD Canaday book (2021)? Last year, my husband figured out that he and I were 8th Canaday cousins to each other! smile! I also have the Canaday Family History, Gum, Somerville book by Charles M. Cannaday (c. 1928). Are you on Ancestry?
No, I don't have the book and yes, I am on Ancestry.
@@wellman0708Are you part of a set of quintuplets, cause that's how many of Amy Walthall's I found there! 🤓
Seriously that's funny no, I'm an only child.
shoutout cole lmao
I like this skit...
We're thrilled you're enjoying 2 Lies & A Leaf, John!
This is fun, but no way I'm giving out my DNA😂

Yes, why not a real host? Or they can just read the questions.
You must be fun at parties
Eliezer is a Hebrew name. Perhaps he was jewish! Fun!
Um living in Texas, hopping trains and saving people from flood waters is far from historical fiction.
Say what 🎉
Sarah…. The film thing was obvious.
I’m sorry, young couples are so freaking annoying especially Generation y
I'm sorry, old couples ruin the fun always with their grumpy old wrinkly rage!
What a terrible commercial...
