Such a moving moment! My father, he was 56 yo, when I was born. He was also, a WW1 Navy veteran. He served as a wireless operator, on a Curtiss Flying Boat, hunting German submarines. He was stationed on the coast of Ireland, Bantry Bay.

It would be interesting to see how many families DNA lined up with what they thought. My grandfather changed the family name in the 1920's. None of my aunt's and uncle's or dad knew about it. I only found it out after accidently stumbling onto a family link due to a misspelling of a last name. Life isn't always what you think it is.

My suggestion would be to find the books by a black man who I wished had been the first black president of the United States and his name is Thomas Sowell. He'll tell you a few things about slavery that they manage to eliminate from education and programs like this. I'm not condoning the owning of slaves I'm just a messenger here.
