  • Act II. Cenerentola (Tara Erraught) has married Prince Ramiro after he agreed to forgive her family for their failings and allow goodness to be triumphant. She embraces her step-father and step-sisters, who are eventually won over by her magnanimity. All comment that although she is worthy of the throne, Cenerentola has risen above it. In her goodness and kindness, all find redemption. Conducted by Fergus Sheil and directed by Orpha Phelan.

So many armchair singing teachers! How about you guys go and create something with all your skills? Loved this video! Cheered me up in these troubling times!

I saw Tara Erraught in the Welsh National Opera production of Cenerentola in Autumn 2018. It was a very bold, jolly and colourful production.

    Wow! She is crazy wonderful!
Beautiful handling of the fioratura, and some fun and different variations and cadenzi!
She reminds me of a young Horne --- and I can not Wait to hear her in about 10 years when time, development, and nature bring even more "meety-ness" to her already lovely bottom voice
.....and, how refreshing that she can really act, and brought such absolute joy to this finale!
    😎😎😎
    Brava!!!

If I'm not mistaken Cenerentola is sung by a mezzo. Though, I think Mrs Erraught's voice is one of a dramatic soprano! Her high notes are so powerful, they even remind me of Callas. Her low notes are good, better than many mezzos' of our time, but not as good as her high notes. Some more chest voice is needed at low notes!!! Besides that, I think Mrs Erraught has a great career in front of her!!! Brava!
    P. S. Mrs Erraught, don't be afraid to sing high notes! You've got them!!!!!!

I also think she is actually a soprano or at most a soprano falcon. The core of the voice does not sound like that of a mezzo-soprano, and her lower-middle and low registers are clearly more uncomfortable and have less color and dynamics than the higher notes.

beautiful voice and great singing.... i do however find something in the coloratura a bit distracting.... it sounds more to be like a flutter than actual intentionally placed notes... i remember an article that quoted scotto about coloratura and she said most people who have a natural ability to sing coloratura can only do it at super fast speed and if you reduce the tempo then the coloratura gets sloppy... and i think i understand what she meant now...

Absolutely agree. I worked with a soprano who took Rejoice Greatly twice as fast as is standard because she was incapable of performing it a tempo.

A beautiful agile voice, pleasantly even and solid throughout the entire range, but perhaps a tad too much vibrato. I wonder if she'd be in demand for as much Handel as for Rossini. Oh, and I rather dislike her ornaments. I do hope she changes them when she comes to the Met the next month.
