(12:23AM East Coast time) Morning with Adam and Mica...great to watch. Mono? steady on the recovery. It must be really difficult having to limit training but it will get better...you know that but it is always good to remind yourself...better days ahead. Your humor is really good. Hey Adam I was just wondering I’m a 17:33 5k runner as a freshman in high school however I missed this track season because of a torn hip labrum they think😂 and some people were saying it was because I was this over training (i was averaging around 35 miles per week) I just wanted to know how much mileage I should be running for sophomore year just trying to get other peoples opinions
Well it all depends on your back ground. I am unfamiliar with a torn labrum and if it’s more of a chronic or acute injury. Basically the rule of thumb is that if you can stay healthy and have good workouts you can try and increase mileage. Obviously with that increase in mileage you’ll need to recover even harder. If you can’t seem to go up in mileage without hurting something there are plenty of other ways to increase your cardiovascular base without running like cross training!! So maybe you stay at 35miles of Running with an additional 1.5-2hrs of XT per week to equate to an additional 10 miles of running. I’d also recommend strength training, since it may just be your body & hips are physically strong enough to support the mileage :) Good luck!

Depending on how warm it is yes! Once it gets about 60 degrees or so I tend to do split shorts

Adam your just training too hard. The best in the world never put themselves in the red zone in training. Just stop grinding and lower the intensity of your session, you will make progress again. Hard work doesnt mean training hard, look at jakob ingebrigsten
Haha I think Jakob is a bad example, dude does double threshold 2x a week w/ a speed session on a different day as well (6 workouts a week) but I totally get what you’re trying to say! More balance, less stretching myself. My training has been way lighter for the past 5 weeks so hopefully the body will recover nicely :)
@@AdamWoodRuns The reason why jakob can do so much quality work is because is running in total control. 2 times double treshold per week were the lactate stay under 3 mmol wich is very low and only one hard session per week, a hill day were they do usualy 20*200 m. When I watch your video, I see so much training were you finished hands on your knees. Thats a race/grinding mentality. Im a 100% sure that if you stop pushing that hard in training and just take the time to build youre anaerobic treshold you will make so much progress, because you truly deserve it

@@candiceverpaelst-ud3kk And he is constantly checking is lactate level and heart rate even on the easy run. He never pushed hard and thats why he can do so much volume, and volume is on of the key
