I really feel that more people should think about what car they're actually buying and why one option is more expensive than another. Hell, even when it comes to what brand they're choosing, I know plenty of people who know nothing about cars and yet remain stubborn about their opinion "[insert car brand] is best" without even questioning themselves why. And then when they ask me for advise on what car they should buy on a given budget and given criteria, after I've done hours and hours of searching and present them with my picks they're like "But I want a [insert favorite car brand here]!" and all I can do is just shake my head.
Can you show the video of the diff needing to be replaced after a few months of ownership, or the many electrical glitches it'll rack up?
I have absolutely no interest in this car and that didn't change.

+no1DdC hmmm i dunno, i think the Grand Cherokee is a capable off-roader and once u look at the SRT i think they are somewhat compareable, with the caveats that the SRT and even the Trackhawk whilst compareable on power/speed..will probably lose out on offroad and luxury. That said i'd wager that both the jeeps would be cheaper than the Range...the cherokee's are probably the GTR's of the performance SUV's.

bingoberra18 sure there is, but that thing is so ugly that you don't even bother with looking at other things/characteristics/specifications that make a car 'a car' ... Cayenne is about a million times nicer than the model X.
Nik Brudar Niether of us has driven or even sat in one, so letsjustwait and see. I look forward to the reviews of Teslas 750hp, silent monster. It´s not even a competition if you compare acceleration of a X with a Cayenne Turbo, the German will be left for dead.

Yes, it's a fast SUV...but I think it still has off-road modes...you didn't talk about those. Are they still useable or just there as features you'll never use? Is this RR's "urban SUV"? If we want something a little sport but want off-road ability...do we have to choose another model?
How that LCD infotainment panel is deeply inset in there makes it look super cheesy.
I find it funny how the comments have changed over time. I remember right at the beginning the host was crucified for being this-and-that. Yet today I only read praise. And the host? Well, he hasn't changed one bit.

Is this place the Isle of Man? Cuz the late top gear used to film stuff on the Isle of Man for it has no speed limit outside of the built-up area.
Even though there's no national speed limit you can still get a ticket for reckless driving due to excessive speed, and the roads are good enough that there's no straights where you'll reach more than about 80mph anyway I'm realistic use, so you can faster on many UK roads
+Daniel Fox Really, I know friends on their bikes that have hit around 150mph on the isle of man and there is a couple of video's on here where bikers have hit around 186 mph
***** on bikes yes, but there's a big difference between a bike and a big SUV, especially because all the roads are quite narrow. Plus to reach those kinds of speeds you really need to know the road and that takes a long time.

about 7 years ago, you could've bought a Chevy Trailblazer SS and slap every Corvette aftermarket part onto it and have a 700hp SUV for about 60,000 USD. maybe another 10K if you want to make it corner too.
Today, you'd either have to go for the stupid large Tahoe/Suburban and still swap in a new engine, because the midrange SUV's are too eco-minded to share any parts with the vettes these days.

+ShawJohn31 The RR has a proper AWD setup meant for rugged terrains. The Porsche is just a road car that can go on the grass. There is no comparing them. The Porsche doesn't even have low ratio gears, let alone proper terrain response.

I have watched most of your videos, I love your channel and I must say that almost always agree with you but this time I just don't know. I think that this was a logic step for Land Rover, but maybe they've tried too hard. I mean, it is a SUV with the sound of the all mighty F-Type R, and somehow I don't think this performs as well as the Macan or Cayenne do. I'd just go for the Macan Turbo which for me is the best fast SUV out there. Greetings.
But this is not just about speed. The Macan is the size of a RAV4, so they do not appeal to the same target audience, despite performance similarities.

Amazing car but would put in the standard interior or simply upgrade a standard supercharged with Cosworth components and get back 600 bhp in return :-)
Nice car but faster than Porsche? You should know it's not the case. And M5/M6 are at least as fast as Cayenne turbo S. So this car is kind of slower than most high performance SUVs. But looks great and has high end luxury. But the price, wow, way too expensive for what it offers. But it has enough paying customers so it's doing fine.

Yes indeed you can hurl it around like most high performance SUV's... but you'll pay for it later in worn out tyres, shocks, brake rotors, suspension and subframe bushings etc. Despite the "it DEFIES PHYSICS!" "Faster than this or that!" nonsense you hear all the time about these things, they don't defy physics, yes they are fast, but they just wear everything out really, unbelievably fast if you drive them hard. Things will indeed go pop, and they will indeed be expensive. Then again, if you can afford to buy one new, you probably don't care.
If that's the best they can do, then all I have to say is... no wonder why Williams can't win a race😂

Faster than which Porsche, a Macan Diesel ? From what i know this is less quick than its rivals BMW X5 M (F85), GLE 63 AMG S and Porsche Cayenne Turbo S (even though i know it is a bit controversial because it's quite a bit more expensive than its rivals).
it's more expensive, but it's obviously worth the extra $$$
Nik Brudar It's just barely quicker and better driving than the X5 M, for 44k more. Porsche always exaggerate, just because of its brand image.
A 15k competition package on the X5 M, pushing it to 600hp with carbon brakes, M Performance Exhaust and lighter wheels could easily out-perform the Turbo S in every way, yet costing 30k less (French prices in Euros of course, 126k for the X5, 127 500 for the SVR and 170 450 for the Cayenne Turbo S).

Maybe, I don't know all the details, but I know that the Range Rover Sport SVR doesn't stand a chance against the Cayenne Turbo, even further Turbo S. And I prefer the Cayenne over any of these. About the X5M being faster than the Turbo S I can hardly believe that happening.

It's all really very nice, but the price to me isn't quite justified. Porsche Cayenne Turbo S (for the same thrill) is cheaper and faster. I really love the car though. But the price makes me wanna cry as much as the sound it makes does! But the Bentley Bentayga will be even worsely priced, what messed up economies we have.

True, it is one special vehicle. But I can't really help but think that they're making huge profit margins at our expense. That price! Whoa, so sad. Sure you'd rather buy a second hand Rolls Royce Ghost too. It also does about 4.7sec to 60mph.
+Edgar Lubulellah well, pricing is not based on cost, so yes, top end vehicles have much bigger margins than low end vehicles. For example, the manufacturing cost of a 320i BMW and that of an M3 is not that different, yet the M3 retails at 5 times the price. I would guess two factors come in to play, one is exclusivity, and the more important one, recouping R&D costs.

+nswgb69 My brother in law has an ML63 AMG and used to own an X5M and Range Rover Vogue. I've been in, and driven, all three of them. The Range Rover is in a totally different league. Its an industry leader in SUVs for a reason.

Nik Brudar Close family own a Sport (albeit Diesel, hence why I didn't mention it). Its just a Vouge but smaller. I still consider it in a different league.
