Brilliant as always Anthony, loved the outtakes, hope you include them in future films. I’ve never understood the fascination for tarps, yes I know they are ultra lightweight but give me a tent any day, especially in the wet and windy hills of the UK. Plus of course how do you escape from the dreaded midges? No it’s definitely not for me. Another Five Star Film ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Yes, you do need to have the gear to be comfortable and yes, with a light tarp I was able to use a smaller lighter rucksack which helped my knees!😊 Atb Anthony
Hello, my friends, the weather here is bad, with gale-force winds, heavy rain, and thick cloud . I think I may have to wait until next week to see if there is any improvement. I have been looking at The Far Eastern Fells, one fell in particular called Caudale Moor could be a possible. Another is Raven Crag which is above Thirlemere Reservoir.

Another Fell I have never been on and meant to do a few more in that area when I finished the Coledale Round. Loved the tarp set up, looked really good and not a bad weight either and also loved the time-lapse. Shame about the morning clag but brilliant to see it is not only me that talks a load of rubbish lol, loved the bloopers, cheers Alan

Wow another perfect wild camping masterpiece capturing the sights and sounds perfectly as always. Really enjoyed that and love the tarp mate and it’s a totally different experience but in many ways it’s much better than a tent. It was pretty awesome seeing trees in the beginning of your video. I don't see trees very often when I watch your videos or Alan Metalman's. The landscape you guys hike though it's still very lovely but the trees are just not there the majority of the time. I loved the time-lapse with the view of Skiddaw! The tarp looks really cool but I was very amazed to see that it withstood that storm you slept through and stayed dry. Very cool way to test it out for the first time and thanks for sharing your adventure!

@@anthonypayne1 hahah, it's good of you to show us😂 I've had a couple mountain top overnighters beneath open skies now, those are really the only ones that beat out tarp camps in terms of feeling immersed in nature. So I would recomend giving that a go if you have favourable weather reports.

You could possibly buy a triangle "door" from Ookworks in the UK who make them for the MLD trailstar. But it would fit the back of the Silwing no problem and help take away the worst of the wind from that direction for basically no extra weight

So nice I watched it twice. It's clever how one end of the tarp is taller to give a place to sit up but stay under shelter. Any adjustments to the set up for next time?

Hi Mark, sorry for the lack of content. I've had some health issues which have prevented me from getting out this year. I won't bore you with the details, they are slowly getting resolved so I have'nt given up hope of getting out wild camping again. I was lucky on that occaision as I did'nt have a bivvy bag but the weather stayed dry. I realised after that a bivvy is probably a good idea! Atb Anthony

Hi Robin, I've had the tarp sometime (just never got around to using it) and it was purchased from backpackinglight.co.uk. I just had a look on their site, it is listed and on promotion but not in stock. Hope this helps.

Another Fell I have never been on and meant to do a few more in that area when I finished the Coledale Round. Loved the tarp set up, looked really good and not a bad weight either and also loved the time-lapse. Shame about the morning clag but brilliant to see it is not only me that talks a load of rubbish lol, loved the bloopers, cheers Alan

Wow another perfect wild camping masterpiece capturing the sights and sounds perfectly as always. Really enjoyed that and love the tarp mate and it’s a totally different experience but in many ways it’s much better than a tent. It was pretty awesome seeing trees in the beginning of your video. I don't see trees very often when I watch your videos or Alan Metalman's. The landscape you guys hike though it's still very lovely but the trees are just not there the majority of the time. I loved the time-lapse with the view of Skiddaw! The tarp looks really cool but I was very amazed to see that it withstood that storm you slept through and stayed dry. Very cool way to test it out for the first time and thanks for sharing your adventure!

Great watch as always Anthony, I used a tarp for the first time in Feb in the lakes. It was the first time in many many years. Your tarp looks very smart, not sure if I could get in under a tarp that low ! Love the time-lapse, and really enjoyed the outtakes. Abt Grant. 🤣🤣👍

@@anthonypayne1 hahah, it's good of you to show us😂 I've had a couple mountain top overnighters beneath open skies now, those are really the only ones that beat out tarp camps in terms of feeling immersed in nature. So I would recomend giving that a go if you have favourable weather reports.
I camped up there last year after my hernia surgery. It’s a cracking little hill with massive views. Nice tarp it will serve you well.

Great film that one mate - pretty brave in a tarp in that weather - but worked really well. Shame about Sunrise and Sunset but the cloud formations in the Timelapses were so beautiful.
And love the outtakes. Watching yours I realised how much rubbish I cut out of my vids too 🤣🤣🤣

You could possibly buy a triangle "door" from Ookworks in the UK who make them for the MLD trailstar. But it would fit the back of the Silwing no problem and help take away the worst of the wind from that direction for basically no extra weight

So nice I watched it twice. It's clever how one end of the tarp is taller to give a place to sit up but stay under shelter. Any adjustments to the set up for next time?

Thanks Will🙏 Yeah, really pleased with the tarp, with a bit more time experimenting I think I'll raise the height a little more, and see if I can reduce the gap and airflow slightly at the rear by bringing the two rear sides in. Hi Mark, sorry for the lack of content. I've had some health issues which have prevented me from getting out this year. I won't bore you with the details, they are slowly getting resolved so I have'nt given up hope of getting out wild camping again. I was lucky on that occaision as I did'nt have a bivvy bag but the weather stayed dry. I realised after that a bivvy is probably a good idea! Atb Anthony

I've been out almost 3 years because of my leg - managed a few long hikes this year, got sore and just recently back out. It is a worry - never give up. Yeah, a bivvy is always good with a tarp.
