    at 4:00 to answer your question about changing the video mode (ex. Aperture priority, manual, shutter) you can click the function (FN) and it will be on the far right and you click on it and change the mode you are in within the video mode

      wait actually i just realized (paused at 4:52) that in your (FN) menu you don't have the "mode" setting on there you can go in and customize that as well and change what you want to come up in that menu

    Hi - I just wanted to say I'm a new dad and needed a good camera. Did my research and ended up choosing the Sony a6000. I got it with the short and long lenses from Target in December 2019. I've been trying to learn how to use it while I take photos of my baby. She's 9 months now and I haven't spent as much time as I needed to to learn the camera - so all this to say how useful and important your tip videos are. Thank you so much Kyle, and please keep them coming. I subscribed and I let all ads play in full on your videos to maximize your comps. YOur video on the different camera photo settings was very useful (who has time to read the manual!). I think you should do a video where you show the same subject captured with the different modes and adjustments to make to each mode to get the best picture of that subject.

    Loving your videos Man. I'm one of the people who bought into the Sony a little late. I just got my A6000 at the beginning of this year along with the 50mm f1/.8 OSS and a Godox flash set. Its a bit rare nowadays to find a channel who shares information about this camera (mainly because technology just seems to go very fast) I chose this over the A7 series mainly because of the size and weight despite the A7 series being the more capable. Hope to see you make more videos in the future. All the best for you, your channel and career. Cheers!

    I don't have an a6000, mine is an a5100, but most of your video applies. I use the 16x9 for photography because most of my photos are used in videos. It is also helpful to keep the 16x9 format when your camera is flying on a gimbal. My a5100 basically lives on a gimbal. Great tips and I learned some new stuff. Thanks a lot.

    Nicely done. There’s always more to learn about our gear. Like your new “level of difficulty” gauge - number of 🍺s. 😀 Tip to make it easier to align lens to camera when changing lenses - align the lens dot to cam flange at a point just “outboard” of the cam topside sensor plane indicator (the little circle with a line thu it). The indicator is easier to see than the alignment dot on the body lens flange, and you can keep the cam pointed downward to minimize dust entry into the sensor.

    I have an Anchor 13,000 for hiking/backpacking and love it. I pretty much don’t even use wall chargers anymore just because of the mobility and not having to be anchored (see what I did there 🤪) to a wall while charging. I got the 13k over the 10k because it has more juice and the weight difference is minimal. If weight isn’t a concern you might want to go with a bigger one. I’d say I get like 5-6 charges on my iPhone 7+ off the 13k from full.

    About the video mode selection, you can set a custom shortcut in the quick menu to display that mode change, that's what I did, I don't like all the tiles so when I need changing it I go to the quick menu, usually you can change the aperture even if you're in program auto (at least in actual P mode) so no need for all the changes around, I mostly change between P mode and movie mode most of the times.

      Absolutely. Might have shorter battery life than what your used to, but the a6000 is small, outputs amazing quality video and photos. Checkout my insta to see what it’s capable of. instagram.com/hikyletaggart

    Hi I’m new to your channel, I just got my a6000 yesterday. I’m not a professional, I just want a camara to take pictures and videos of my kids. Would you recommend AVCHD or MP4 to record videos? I just watch them on my tv and share them with family via message. Also every time I take a picture it takes two a regular picture and a zoomed in picture. How can I turn that setting off? I would really appreciate if you can help me out. Thank you in advance

    • @kyletaggart
      @kyletaggart  Před 5 lety +1

      Hey Luz! Thanks for checking out the channel. I would recommend MP4 or XAVCS. XAVCS is the best video quality but it also takes up the most space. You need a 64GB card to film with that. As for the two pictures, it’s actually just one, it just plays it back zoomed in on faces I believe. I don’t know the setting off the top of my head but I’ll look when I get home from work. 👍🏻

      @lucyarredondo1668 Před 5 lety +1

      hikyletaggart thank you. I will appreciate you looking into that because I don’t like the zoomed in, I usually have to keep going back and erase them. can I import XAVCS videos through PlayMemories into my phone?

    • @kyletaggart
      @kyletaggart  Před 5 lety

      I believe so. If you’re going to import them to your phone size may be an issue. I’m sure XAVCS would take longer to transfer then MP4. I’d use MP4. (Most of my videos are in MP4).

    I know you have recommended Sonya5100 for live streaming instead of Sony 6000 now my question is why ( cuz i am about to invest in one but i would like to hear your input before doing so ) much appreciated °˖✧ ❤ ➺|♫

    • @kyletaggart
      @kyletaggart  Před 4 lety

      I’ve recommended it before over the a6000 bc it’s cheaper, and has a flip up screen if that’s needed. BUT, I would probably recommend the a6100 over both now. Obviously, it’s more expensive being it’s newer, but it has zero overheating issues. I don’t stream so I can’t say which one is best for it. I know the a5100 and a6000 have been popular for streamers and I’m assuming the PC or capture card does most of the work. If that’s the case, then the a5100 could save you some money. If your stream setup is more reliant on the camera being a better performer, I’d say get the 6100.

    If you have the histogram on your display, when dialing your setting, you will lose the histogram. You can set this setting guide off by going to the menu, cog tab, page 2 and set the "exposure set guide" to off. This will turn off the setting guide and keep the histogram. Great for people who shot videos and want to check on the exposure.

    Obviously I have the A6000 since I'm about to total amaze you all with my photograph ignorance. Short version, In the view finder I notice light outlines around some a subject similar to using the zebra mode. That's when my old reading glasses using self believes the image is the sharpest\in focus. What am I seeing? Also in manual mode does the focus area options still work with manual lenses? More often than not I can't really tell where area where camera focus on. I'd send examples but I'm more in the get frustrated mode and just delete before uploading to PC. I do like photography but let's just say I wouldn't need to worry about dropping 20lbs if this were my sole means of income.

    • @kyletaggart
      @kyletaggart  Před 5 lety

      The lines you’re referring to may be focus peaking. Which can be used in a high/med/low setting and even different colors to show what’s in focus when using MANUAL focus. Checkout my focus modes video and that may help a little!
