Whipple just came out with their brand new 3.0-liter screw blower and Prestige Motorsports (www.prestigemoto.com) was one of the first engine builders to get their hands on one. They used it in an incredible 454 LS7 build that -- with the help of the new Whipple -- made well over 1,000 horsepower on pump gas!

What a BEAST! That supercharger whine never gets old!
Nobody does engine build videos like you bro!
Your attention to detail and informing the viewers of the "what, where, why and hows" is immensely appreciated, and the camera work is top notch too 👌
Thanks heaps mate!
Thanks very much! Always nice to hear positive feedback.
@@TheHorsepowerMonsterit's a privilege to provide you with appreciation and feedback man 🤙✌
The only thing I could wish for is even MORE content, but beggars can't be choosers 😅
@@imperfectly-balanced8861 facts, this channel is AWESOME
That is probably one of the nicer pump gas motors ive ever seen. The guys at Prestige are world class in my book. Great job guys.
Another awesome build. Out of all the pump gas motors I've seen on your channel this is the one I want. It will go great in my 1970 C-10 short bed, I hope by the end of next year I'll have enough money saved and I'll be able to call Prestige
I'm dying to get my hands on an old C10. Of course, now even old clapped out C10's have skyrocketed in price.
Nice build for sure. gotta like the whipple new style.
Another great video! Thanks for covering the build. Looking forward to the next one. Cheers
Class! What a colossus of a motor.
When you said the stock motor would have issues with a 4 & 1/4 inch stroke. I knew there was a aftermarket block coming!!
The guys at prestige have all the avenues covered with their tech!!
Yet again bud you nailed this video!!!!
Love it!
Cheers 🍻 🥂
Thanks very much! And thanks for watching!
@@TheHorsepowerMonster can you talk Prestige into doing another LS build like this but max effort and 454cid with either a big single or twin turbos with a dry sump oil system with aluminum or titanium rods and with either a similar aluminum block or an LSX-R block and matching heads the LSX-7R heads that flow over 300cfm and go with either a pretty rowdy hydraulic roller or a big solid roller camshaft and you should get in touch with TKM in North Carolina right outside of Benson they currently have the record for building the highest HP 427cid with a hydraulic roller camshaft at a little over 2200hp to the back wheels and it's in a Buick GN and the car has been low 4s in the 1/8th at 170+mph and the car weighs a little over 2700 with a 275 radial behind it and it has just a single 98mm turbo and I want to know why everyone goes for a 427cid and not the 454cid and I would like to know if a 454cid can make close to or over 3000hp
@@keefespencer1173 correct me if I'm wrong but the builds aren't made for video but for paying customers. Unless someone orders one I wouldn't expect it.
I really appreciate how in depth and informative these videos are. I have learned a lot from them. Thanks for making them.

That’s an amazing motor! Great work!

Sounds so wicked!
Thank YOU very much 😁 I LOVE T-H-A-T SOUND ❤
I like the motion race works rocker covers
That camshaft is extremely similar to what I am running in a 427. Mine is 243/259 with a 116 LSA but my lobes are both .367" and I use 1.75 Jesel rockers dictating .642/ .642 lift. I also have about the same boost 12-14 PSI but with an F1-A Procharger. Fun stuff!
how is it down low with F1-A? does it take a while to build boost?
@@markdonovan9247the F1-A head in particular (compared to smaller or larger Procharger heads) is known for making a lot of torque/ low to mid power, and I have to say if had any more low speed power/ torque it would practically be undrivable. So yes, it does great down low. With that said it is pretty much a max effort 427 and they have gobs of power/ and torque down low even without the boost.
I never miss a build. This one is excellent. I want one!!!
Love to hear it! Thanks!
SUPER NICE!!!
Awesome video jeff!!
Thanks Cody!
That sounds like an Evil monster about to take a dump on everyone around it.
If you see that Z in your mirror, just pull over, quietly bow your head.
A Beast like this belongs on a half mile track to fully wake up.
That was killer
Kickass numbers at that boost level
Pure Art
What a beast
Gorgeous motor, would work well in my 03 F150 4x4
Great video!
Thank you!
25k engine right there! This channel is as close as I will ever get lol.
nice,i have a whipple on my GT..lovethem
That torque 😍😍
awesome build...
I have a nice truck with a 6.2 liter Chevy LS. Super fast for stock and decent mileage. Burned off the first set of tires within a few months. Didn’t like the all terrain tires. They were so noisy on the roads so I had fun.
Who doesn’t love that Whipple sound? Imagine that thing driving by with all heads turning to see what the hell it is.
How much boost was it making?
Sure do love this channel. Great builds!
a little over 12 pounds at the end of the pull.
@@TheHorsepowerMonster Nice! Thanks for the response.
That torque curve is a damn torque line. That thing is insane
Oooooh it sounds so good. I want one in my 2001 Camaro if it will fit.
It averages over 800 lb/ft of torque....AVERAGES! Damn!
What was the center lobe on the can that you guys used it was never mentioned
Awesome
It's good your engine builders know about Whipple. I have been watching Gale Banks use them on various projects
If an automotive or marine engine builder doesn’t know the brand Whipple, it’s time to find a “real” builder. You’d have to be living under a rock for the past 20yrs not to.
@@southfloridanick magnuson seems to be out doing them lately though , making more horses with a smaller blower .
@@topitout2954 The Magnuson 2650 is a strong blower, I had one. The new generation 5 Whipple 3.0L is better though…. I also have two of those. I agree the Magnuson 2650 is superior than Gen 4 Whipples and earlier
@@southfloridanick hmm too bad the new whipple isn’t ready for the TRX yet it does sound pretty good. Magnuson has been a great match for the hellcat engine though so I think it’s a safe choice .
You can also build a 502 with that block tall deck version.
Close as you can get to perfection
I want one. That would be so so sweet on my Chevy L86. Silverado
What size are the AN fittings on the motion valve covers?
Great video! That new wipple looks promising. Curious how it would do on corn!
Significantly better, just like everything else.
That's like a big block
Saw more boost at the end because of the cam needs to be bigger if you wanna run more rpm. but that engine needs more boost.
👍 as usual.
Steve Morris is making 3,600 hp on pump gas fabulous engine builder
Does this got the coyote 5.0 engine beat?
Are the new generation of Whipple superchargers much less prone to getting to heat soaked and losing tons of power pull after pull? Also wouldn't a jack shift be better than having the shift run right through the intake? I just heard you mention how this one didn't have a jack shift like it was an improvement.
That thing just sounds angry on the dyno!
Fantastic power plant. What does one of these beauties cost?
Those are all really good components. They should have a piece that will stay together for a long time. Funny that there is not one single factory component that remains. LOL
Now imagine what it'll do on E85...! =:O
I wonder why they have 3.8L Gen 5 kits for the Ford Coyote and Modular but not LS. Packaging maybe...
You mentioned this being the front drive Whipple blower. You forgot @BanksPower 's Lokjaw project, that was the prototype of this blower
What was max timing?
Freaking awesome.and I'm old school
gale banks has a front drive
I wanna see this car run the quarter.
Motion valve covers, Shew Buddy!
Wish it had a cog belt. I love blowers but would hate to deal with belt slip
Why don't they use cog belt on superchargers??
The blower is bigger than the engine in my 2001 Nissan frontier!
ls engines, a worn out recording of a favorite song
752👍's up thanks for sharing
Whipper has a new 4.5 liter supercharger. Try it!😊
So what size.is this engine? Finna watch later lol. 454. I need that horsepower with a 408 or 427 lol. They could push that, but on pump gas and work not sure what amount. That engine definitely barely going all out for the 1000Hp
Can you put that Super Charger on a 572 BBF
Love to see this blower sitting on top of Godzilla...
Does it get 65 MPG. I wonder.
I wanna put this in a miata lol.
That would fit in the 1996 impala
This video makes me miss my Hellcat.
I hope it is because you sold it and didn't get into a wreck. But if you did ... why would you ever sell a Hellcat? Thanks for watching!
@@TheHorsepowerMonster Trying to buy a ZL1 1LE, had already agreed to sell my Hellcat to a private buyer. Got in a dick measuring contest with the dealership when they realized I wasn't trading in my Hellcat and lost. :(

Do they have a kit for a big block Chevy ??
they do and one guy had one in no prep. saw it on 1320 video and it was a damn monster his was the 8.3L whipple LOL
I sell 3.0 Whipple at my shop , we also build LS motors , when we use 3.0 the motors usually make around 1400hp
On pump gas? And how much is your builds like that streetable 1000 hp daily driver ?
@@jordanjr9122 pump gas for street builds can do e85 as well and it would help with staying cool but it's not really necessary. We also do high octane like vp110 or ms109 , or c85
@@jordanjr9122 and for that motor fully built LS with 3.0 Whipple we can do the set up for $30,000 which includes computer and harness , you would just need tranny .
Or for the same set up with a 2.9 we can do it for $26,000
@@sirspeedsalot what is the usual cost for a tranny to go with the engine like the one you speak of?
@@freddie90014 around $3000 powerglide
Hello from Brisbane.
I have some minor interest in the Whipple blower there. I'm posting more because of the LS motor itself. About 2:20 or so, have a good look at that bottom end. Now compare that to a Ford Barra or nearly any other engine you can think of, American. Australian, Japanese, car, bike .... 6 bolt billet steel main caps with great big fkn bolts, that sit inside extended skirts and make up a cage of the whole bottom end of the engine. If you're thinking about pumping 60 psi or 80 psi or something into an engine, if you're thinking about nitrous oxide, if you're thinking about nitromethane ... If you want to build a tractor that'll pull the lid off Hell, that's the bottom end you want. If you want an engine that the crankshaft is never EVER going to fall out of because of boost and cylinder pressure breaking the whole crank loose from the mains, that's your baby. That is about the best bottom end in a production based engine I have ever seen. Top end, well I'd rather a DOHC and 4 valves much like my ZX14, (or the new Corvette motor) but the foundation of an infernal combustion engine is the crankshaft and the way that's connected to the block(s). That Chevvy motor is p0wn! That's how a bottom end should be built! That is bloody magnificent!
I was expecting a 632 but never mind
How much $ ?
Cost?
Do whipple superchargers need to have fuel pre blower like a roots to cool the rotors?
We did not. The only place we injected fuel for this particular build was in the intake runners. I do know that screw blowers typically have a cooler intake charge than a roots blower, but I don't know if that is true for every build. Thanks for watching
Gale Banks built a monster truck diesel engine using a 5.0L Whipple. They did not inject fuel before the blower either. They tried a 10-71 roots blower first and managed to kill it.
I recall screw type blowers being experimented with in NHRA top fuel a LONG time ago. They had issues with blowers exploding because screw type blower compress the air in the case. Roots types do not. That may be the reason screw blowers don't introduce fuel before the rotors.
Good points.
Main studs scaring your crank? We would put rubber hose over them and then it’s no problem. Easier than the extra labor of removal and reinstall studs.
2:00 did you mean 4.6 inches of stroke instead of 4.006 inches. Because the current crank is bigger than that at 4.250.
Yes, I was saying 4.600. Four inches six hundred thousandths. 4.006 would be four inches six thousandths. Sorry if it was confusing.
@@TheHorsepowerMonster thank you for the response.
Cubic dollars. Nice!
Same result as Richard holders stock 5.3 with eBay turbo🤣🤣
Yes. How long is a stock 5.3 with an ebay turbo making a thousand horsepower going to live?
Darn shame we never get to see any of these engines in action
That's what the dyno is for. They usually get shipped all over the country or sit for several months waiting for the car to be finished. This is about the best I can do.
that is dead sexy I’m at a loss for words to tell the wife why we gonna be renting for another year or two.. maybe 3 lmao
Ha!
Not hard to do if the blower ms CFM is rated for around 1,500hp.
I would've put that in my Mom's station wagon and destroyed worlds!
How much do it cost for you to build one for me?
Will it beat a Plaid Model S in the quarter?
nope
Will it sound better than a Plaid Model S in the quarter? Yes
😍
I'd like to see a followup on this build!! They are using 5/16 push rods where lots of folks are using 7/16 or so!! and frankly there's another build i watched a few minutes ago where they got 955 hp from less than 400 cubic inches!! i realize that that is a race motor and this is not! Would love to have this in a car!!! but being the arm chair quarter back that I am, I'm not that impressed!!
Why use an LS in that Camaro? You could get a Brodix or Dart SBC alloy block then some decent SBC heads for the same price. Well the heads might cost extra if you went with some steeper valve angles, but that is really all you're getting by going LS and really I can't see the price being too different.
Never did like that oil pump design
only 10 pounds of boost damn
Great HP. NOT a word about cost. It;s likely for a little over $20K you can have one too. Or is that $30K?
30k+ is what borowski goes for like this
900lb/ft at 3,500... just enough for a street car right?
melt the tires off a dump truck..why not?
The rear tires are just enough for a street car, i guess?
It's a badass unit, but 32k for that I can't justify 🤷
You can get those numbers with stock Ls with turbo.
Not impressed for a custom block and heads.
This engine costs more then most peoples cars
I'f I comment first do I get one for free .I heard that is how it works ....😎
I wish! Good try, though!
