How To Clean Your Home in Only 15 Minutes a Day! (This Will Change Your Life!)

- Today I'm sharing with you a new cleaning method I came across recently that's been amazing! This weekly cleaning schedule will allow you to keep your entire home clean in only 15-20 minutes a day!

Overview: Weekly Cleaning Schedule

Monday: Clean Bathrooms
o Clean mirror, sink, toilet and shower/tub
o For toilets, use baking soda as an abrasive if needed
o If you are someone who is grossed out by toilet brushes you can get replaceable wands
o Each bathroom should take 5 mins, you don’t have to do floors those will be another day
Tuesday: Dusting and Surface Cleaning
o Move quickly around your house and dust/clean off surfaces
o The less stuff you have out, the less there is to dust!
o Dust from top to bottom
o Race around the house and do what you can in 15 mins
Wednesday: Vacuuming
o The logic here is that if you dust on Tuesdays, you vacuum on Wednesdays to collect any dust that’s fallen
o Start on second floor with room farthest from stairs , moving room to room towards the stairs, stairs, then lower level
o She recommends using a broom for in between spot cleaning, as I mentioned before I have a cheap handheld vac I keep in my kitchen for spot cleaning
Thursdays: Mop / Wash floors

Friday: Catch All Day
o Use this day to catch up on uncompleted tasks, menu planning, bill paying, laundry, a rotating or deeper cleaning task or just take the day off.
Saturday: Sheets and Towels
o This helps reduce overall laundry load (Note, clean mama does a load of laundry every day / I do 1-2 per week)
o Start right away in the morning and then by early afternoon you can have everything folded and put back
Sunday: Day off!
In addition to my daily cleaning task I do 10 minutes of general cleaning/decluttering (picking up Carter's toys / doing dishes etc). I do my daily cleaning at the same time every day - when Carter goes down for his nap - so it's built into my schedule.
*I know the end scene with Ryan was not our best work (I almost cut it) but I thought it was better than none :) we're getting back into the swing of things

I've been using her schedule for years and it works so well! I run my robot vacuum every day (2 dogs and a dusty climate makes it a must do) and do all my laundry on Monday, with sheets and towels on Tuesday. Then I can enjoy my entire weekend with my family. Also, I try to add one deep clean item on Friday (ceiling fans, appliances, baseboards, etc). Since I've been using her schedule I feel like my home is cleaner and ready for guests any day of the week.

I just started this last week after watching your video. It takes me a little longer than 15 minutes to do each day but I dont mind because it is saving me from those 4 hour cleaning days when everything is a disaster! Thank you for sharing! It is also helping me declutter my space because when it comes to wiping surfaces day, Id rather not have to move a million things. 2 birds 1 stone

Ive been doing something similar for years and it really works! What chore on what days has changed over time, but currently its:
Sunday-Monday: Laundry (I allow myself 2 days because I loathe laundry...I allowed myself to keep it real haha)
Tuesday: Bathrooms
Wednesday: Grocery shopping
Thursday: Dusting
Friday: Floors
Saturday: NOTHING!
Gaylin Fitz grocery shopping on Wednesday seems so smart! Because people usually shop on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays!
Payton Landers I chose Wednesday because several stores around here have double ads every Wednesday! I meal plan around whats on sale, so shopping when more is on sale is just smart!

if you dust once a week there would be soo much dust accumulated on the surfaces
I love this idea. I used to do a schedule where I would do one area per day. Mon: Living room, Tue: Kitchen, Wed: Bedrooms, Thurs: Bathroom, Friday: Closets/Misc, Weekends: Outside/Basement. I really want to get back to that schedule again. Even if I didn't do EVERYTHING I still felt good that it was tidied up. I'd also try to do a load of laundry or dishes everyday. Now I'm I stuck cramming everything into my weekend. I don't finish enough chores that I want also If I'm busy traveling or something I get WAY BEHIND. I'm also a person that gets anxiety from having an untidy house. Some I can handle, but once it gets past a certain point I get so stressed.
I do a similar thing, but after work and the have to's. I set a timer for 15 minutes for that area/task.

Been cleaning like this for forever, I learned this from my Mom. (The tasks and days differ though). Overall, it can be good for everyone, but especially for those who are gone from the house all day. Small task everyday either before or after work so the house does not get out of hand.
Short list if anyone wants to write it down :
Monday: bathrooms
Tuesday: dusting
Wednesday :Vacuuming
Thursday :Mopping
Friday: "catch all day"
Saturday :sheets & towels

I tried this schedule about a month ago after seeing your video. It is a game changer! I had to rearrange what day I do what chore to work for my schedule but the premise is the same and for the first time in my life, I feel like my house is always clean! I do a lot of general other things that help (never leaving dishes in the sink, cleaning the kitchen after dinner each night, immediately handling all mail) but this has really helped me feel like I could have company at any moment and my house will be clean! This method sounds really really good! I've been testing the Fly Lady system recently and in some ways it's similar, you clean a little every day (except weekends). Love from The Netherlands!

I've been doing FlyLady since 2004. Her system saved my life....raised 2 grandchildren! Decluttering and simplifying are the keys to success! I like Clean Mama too.

I’m going to try this method for a month & see if it is something I can stick with. I tend to procrastinate all week & then spend all day Sunday before going back to work cleaning the entire house all day long. Clean mama sounds like Flylady. Each day is a zone. 15 min a day. 2 minute to clean hotspot. Throw away , 27 things a day.

I like this but sweeping/vacuuming one day and mopping the next, I don’t agree with bc you will be mopping any dirt/dust that you acquired in those 24 hours so I would do them on the same day and have Saturday AND Sunday off 😀😀😀

I had actually just sat down earlier and starting writing a cleaning schedule like this for myself. It's an awesome idea, for busy people. or so it doesn't get to much.
I probably wouldn't be able to wait until Wednesday to vacuum up the dust. I also probably wouldn't be able to wait until Thursday to mop. I can try, but I'm not sure lol!!
Take A Chill Pill Same! I always have to Mop literally right after sweeping/vacuuming... Or let’s say I do wait for the next day to do the moping... I would end up sweeping/vacuuming again right before doing the mopping lol... Hope I made sense lol... But I do like the idea of spreading out the task over the week. ☺️☺️☺️

Same lol When I heard to Mop the next day I knew I wouldn’t be able to do that one. I literally sweep & Mop the same day. With a 5year old Im sure if I wait, there’s going to be a crumb or two with some playdoh on the floor by the next day 🙄😅

Once i start cleaning i cant stop so i kinda do the whole house in a day! Friday is my cleaning day! Id love to do this, but with 2 kids, it’s exhausting!!
Once I start cleaning, I can't stop either! I wish I could follow this schedule, but for one I don't like leaving a room unfinished especially the floors in the bathroom. Secondly, I feel as though you're always cleaning. The idea of this is great, but wouldn't work for me with my toddler, since I have my husband or mom around when I clean.

I love Clean Mama and have been following her for a while now. I like the method she uses and have applies some of the things to my system. I always love seeing what other people's systems are so I can improve mine to save time!

😂😂😂 Your husband sounds like mine! Sits and visualizes cleaning but doesn't actually do it! I so enjoy all your tips. I might get my kids to implement these. Although I have this habit and I try and get the kids to do it is to do at least 5 cleaning tasks every room they walk into. I do 5 the kids do 3. It could be anything like picking 3 items off the floor, straightening the cushions, giving a quick dust to coffee table, washing dishes in the sink. It just gets then into a habit of cleaning up after themselves and helps me keep the house tidy
Great tips! I actually disected my cleaning schedule as well on more days... before it was 1 day for all the cleaning, now I do 1 day bathroom and toilets, 1 day dust, 1 day vacuuming, 1 day moping, 1 day sheets and towels. It is much easier and you really look forward to a short cleaning day 😊😀!

Bismillah Beginnings agree. I don't feel the house is clean if floor hasn't been mopped. I need mopping daily. I have no carpets at all which might hide the dust for a week or so.
It does pay off to do regular cleaning. I have just spent 6 hours cleaning my patio and garden shed, and it used to take me 15-20 minutes a week when I did it regularly. Not letting things go does save time in the end. I personally do separate types of house work per each day (kitchen cleaning, garden and plant care, laundry, shopping, and so on), but this method that you shared is also very interesting, thank you so much for sharing! ♥

Love Clean Mama! I follow her on IG and it’s nice to get the daily reminders. I don’t always follow her routine every day, but it’s been about 2 years since I found her blog and I still wash my sheets and towels on Saturday 😁

Thank you for the video! I’ve been following this method for a while and it really works I grouped my tasks a little differently because I have an apartment but I love this! I add laundry in by daily groups like work clothes only on Wednesday’s and all towels on fridays! I have more fun scratching off my daily goals, by putting my list behind a dollar tree picture-frame and using a dry erase marker to strike the task off! Everyone in the family is aware of the task and things can be done when I’m not around. It’s the only thing that has worked for us.

this is literally what i do! i also schedule laundry, different people/kids laundry on different days. i clean a little deeper than 15min each day on each item but i love cleaning like this!
I love clean mama! Her book got me into a cleaning schedule that finally clicked for me. I’ve since adapted it to what works better for our family. I have 3 munchkin who require me to vacuum thoroughly 3 days a week, and if I don’t do my bathroom floors on bathroom day, they don’t happen 😂 so I just make it 20 min instead of 15.

I loved this. I personally do this in every room every time I clean. I do have someone coming in weekly but Thursday and weekends I am the cleaning lady. I also have kids so running through my home cleaning is an absolute must. The only place I spent more than 10 min is my kitchen. The same goes at night. Would love to see a monthly and seasonal video. Pick up some pointers. Yay Rayn is back.

These are great tips, but with older kids and living next to a farmers field I have to do all those chores, almost, on a daily basis. 1x/wk for dusting and floors won’t work. Since my kids are older they have their chores they do daily and ones they do every other day. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn’t. There’s always kids coming in and out making messes. I pick my battles and usually try to pick up b4 bed so I can “start” the day mess free.

Life’s definitely too short and my kids are in, almost, every activity. I’m thrilled if we can have a home cooked meal and eat together. I try to at least keep the dishes and laundry done as well as keeping things “tidy”. There’s always tomorrow and until then we can have fun making “dust” pictures. 😂
I hear you! I have a home day care so I need to make sure all the basics are done at least once a day, but sweeping, bathroom cleanup, wiping the table/surfaces happens more than once a day!
Question? Wouldn’t you need to resweep before you mop on Wednesday? I think if I’m going to really sweep everything I would feel the need to mop especially with pets. That’s the only thing I would tweek

I actually created a schedule similar in the past and recently decided to consider it because i too was spending an entire day. However all floors must be vaccumed and mopped same day-- so its a little extra time that day for that. Glad u posted this. It has worked for me as long as i stick.

I clean kitchen every day. Clean bedrooms, dust, vacuum and mop on Fridays and clean bathroom on Friday too just in case we get visitors on the weekend. Washing is normally Saturday or Sunday because electricity is cheaper on the weekend where i live.

I just absolutely love your channel❣️I noticed how you dust first; then vacuum. I was always taught by my mother to vacuum first because dust rises and falls. Tidy up a bit more so it settles and dust♥️
I also use a shark steamer for my floors and the covers are washable. It’s one of my favorite tools♥️

I've been doing something similar. I have a daily cleaning routine that takes about 5 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the evening. Then on Monday I do the bathroom, Tuesday I do the living room and office, Wednesday I do the kitchen, Thursday I do the dining room, entry way, and tackle one semi-monthly chore, Friday I do the bedroom, Saturday I do outside areas and tackle 2 monthly chores, and Sunday is a rest day. It all adds up to about an hour of cleaning a day which is pretty manageable for me.
I loveeee this!! It reminds me a lot of the Fly Lady method, but Fly Lady has always felt so overwhelming. This feels so much more manageable. Thank you for this!
