Hey, I was wondering if you’re gonna do a video on “Backline Attack” ?
Idk HOW TF I triggered it but it was in the commands menu press L2 + R2 for Backline Attack I think? And it had Synergy Abilities with people NOT in the current party.
It only happened to me once & it was wild.

I know it’s the newfangled thing that ALL the kids (I’m 40, lol) Looooove their 60fps or higher… I, do not.
I don’t want my games to look “real” I want them to look cinematic, like how you turn on motion plus for sporting events to generate extra frames BUT it makes most movies & tv shows look like crap due to the Soap Opera Effect.
My main reason tho, I get Simulation Sickness. I can’t play first person shooters or I develop a fever & get violently nauseous & higher frame rates trigger it as well.
I, like many, came around back when you did your Remake Tutorials & by God, Tifa was/is amazing & I had been utilizing her so so wrong.
Sorry, POINT, in one of your streams back then you said some of the combos wouldn’t matter for ppl playing Quality as the latency lag prevented pulling some combos off.
I believe in a recent interview Hamaguchi San said their prioritizing button input even in Quality… did some experimenting & was able to do a Rise and Fall cancel with Guard in Quality.
My “big ask” is could you make it clear what ISN’T doable in Quality as I know you (& many) prefer Performance?
I’m truly not expecting a whole reply, just food for thought in one demographic of your audience, lol.

Aerith being able to use Cloud/Barrett for Bodyguard is a HUGE upgrade and makes her way less fragile. A guide on her would be awesome

He fairly simple to understand, I'm more interested in bltzz's advanced combat guides once we're all playing the game for a bit because the potential for every character is through the roof and we've only just gotten a small taste.
I know he needs one. But at the same time, maybe he should wait. What if he finds a new techinque? He'd need to make a new guide again with the update. Barret and Aerith can be easy guides so I'm sure that he can do it easily.
Press square during her dodging animation, that'll quickly cancel it so you can dodge again immediately after

Love how the synergy skills for Tifa are basically the game’s answer to a jump button.
I dont get it. How? Isn't synergy just a materia that let's a party member follow up the leaders consecutive commands with a element attack?

Lmao. I was fighting the Mind Flayer and he pulled some move where he KO'd two of my party members, leaving Tifa alive and I was like "Oh, you just f'd up. You left the wrong one alive"
I know you're bound to put out this vid in about a day.. or like 10 min from now, although if you haven't put Wind on Aerith's Shortcut command w/ Sorcerers Storm it's insane. She also does crazy damage if you layer Radiant and Arcane Ward beside each other so that they slightly overlap. On top of that if you put Limit Siphon on her you can heal the party quickly if you have a Red, Cloud and/or Tifa on the team. Red as body guard to build his Vengeance is also insane - it made the Phoenix fight pretty easy. I know it's just the demo and the mechanics are only going to get deeper, but this has been a huge upgrade from a combat system that I (and likely a lot of your audience) have put 100s of hours in. Thanks again for the content my man, every vid I see I boot up the demo again to give these tricks a try. Can't wait to see more.
This video alone has convinced me I did not appreciate the combat in Remake the way I should have and also I will not make that mistake with Rebirth.

Yes the combat in Remake was very deep and you needed to be good to be a completionist in hard mode. I struggled in intermission and in the Rebirth demo myself despite doing well in Remake so I’m watching these videos to learn and refresh my memory.
It looks awesome, but I need someone to explain it like I’m 5. This video assumes you kind of get the basic combat.

By the way, I've heard that Zack is confirmed playable in Rebirth! Once you get to that section of the game, it would be AWESOME for a Zack combat guide, and perhaps even include a comparison between him and Cloud to highlight their similarities and/or differences 😊
Personally, I REALLY hope Zack is going to be a fighter/monk hybrid to really differentiate him from Cloud (who is a fighter/mage hybrid if I had to take a guess). The team confirmed through the Crisis Core Ultimania way back in 2007 that they had plans for Zack to be that and had even made the animations for him like a monk fighter before realising that the PSP had memory constraints and had to scrap that part of him being able to fight like a monk. So, yeah, I really hope we get to see fighter/monk Zack 😊

I love those synergy abilities. Changes up the big fights so much. I was fighting the quezacoatl bird in the grasslands and used that tifa aerith team up and got planet's protection and the bird went from being pretty savage to... no damage. But love the improvements to the system. And so helpful to listen to all the pro tips so thanks again. And yeah Red xiii for me too

I hope they add some interesting things to Yuffie’s combat. Because Cloud and Tifa look very OP airborne lol
I prefer Yuffies ability to instantly close in on an airborne enemy with just a triangle, no extra steps. Plus she's a magic dmg dealer with all elements in her kit. She has her advantages already. Cant wait to see what we can do with her in Rebirth.

Yuffie is basically the best until the horrible endgame fights. Even then She's useful for a while

Another utility of charge Square is that, on Chi lvl2, if you press Charge Squrae and then Square follow ups it goes directly to the combo ender.
So quick big damage with regular attacks.
Dammit BltzZ, you figured out the ATB Refund mechanic before i could tell you.
Tifa animation canceling of Whirlwind punch with either block or dodge is borderline broken. She's literally swimming in ATB bars constantly.
If there's ATB assist in this game... oh boi.
You can use Tifa to build atb and have aerith siphon the atb to her self or anyone who attacks you want to use regularly
@zleo7054 Is there an ATB Siphon materia? All I've seen is the Limit one, which is incredibly powerful ngl.

Very informative and entertaining video as always Blitz. I would love to see a Vincent guide but it looks like I’ll have to wait until 3rd episode of the trilogy to experience that unfortunately. This still has plenty of characters and I do get they wanted to save some new “sauce” (shout out to Johnny during Walmarket shenanigans) for the finale.
I was looking forward to your Tifa guide and knew it wouldn't disappoint! It's going to be hard not to main her, but I'd love to see a guide with Aerith that showcases how fun she can be rather than just menu spellcasting.
Aerith has some amazing qol changes honestly and is still the undisputed highest DPS
Do you think the Dodge speed will be upgradeable at that little kiosk? I was going for the platinum when the Junon demo came out so the very slow Parry dodge speed really threw me off.
Do your general advanced combat guides for Remake still apply to this game or is it too different now to apply?

I have tried and added Aero with magnify shortcut to Tifa.
You will see the monsters coming towards you and you just shoruken and divekick. So much fun.
Awesome video, dude! FYI, Aerial Divekick can be done during the recovery of Focused Strike, not just Tifa's uppercut!
DAM! Of all the "must watch before playing vids" this is THE one! I am sad that I already played through 4 chapters before seeing this, but better late then never. I always feel like I am not playing the battles properly, and it's really frustrating! But figuring these things out as you play is not all that easy!
Tifa was already my favorite party member in Remake, but damn they've somehow managed to make her even better! I can't wait to get my hands on Rebirth this Thursday!

Aerith guide please. I'm surprisingly having more fun with her combat than I did in Remake. Love using Radiant Ward 😂 And I love using her Synergy Ability - the other character teleports to protect her so I can keep spamming basic attacks inside a Radiant Ward.

actually you can also use dive kick in mid air after focus strike, only work when you are on ground >> focus strike >> dive kick
Tifa's synergy attack with Cloud is so cool. Way back before Remake came out there was a preview video of the first Abzu fight. At one point Tifa did a Starshower attack, and it looked like she jumped onto Cloud's sword while he was attacking and he and launched her off. Some people in the comments were freaking out that she could maybe do that in the game, but it was just a coincidence. You have to wonder if it's also a coincidence that this actually happens in Rebirth now. Maybe the devs saw the reaction to that video and it gave them some ideas.
I noticed whenever you perfectly dodged an enemys attack there would be an extra effect to it. Does tifa have some sort of perfect dodge counter attack thing going on?

I honestly think Aerith and Red are broken! Now with parry, Aerith’s regular attacks being buffed, with her tempest and fleeting familiar being combined, and Radiant Ward is nuts!

I'm going to have to go back into lab and test out some of these out, to improve my skills for when the official game releases in a few days. I'm not sure who you're going to choose for your next video, but I've really been loving Red XIII's gameplay overall. I'm thinking of making a "Speed BltzZ" team of Tifa, Yuffie and Red XIII as a main So at your Earliest convenience I know I would love to see what I might be missing with Red XIII. Whatever you choose to do, I thank you in advance. 🙏🏾

BTW: If you hold square until just after the animation for the uppercut starts then let go and start the hold again there are very few frames where she is locked. Also note that even though the uppercut puts you to high to block, you aren't technically aerial so you don't have access to your aerial shortcuts menu.

Synergy+Comet on teammate while you spamming Tifa combo is so satisfying 😂
It's funny to me that Square didn't just make the synergy gauge another full-width, 5-piece bar under the ATB gauge, since the vertical space is used by the pips anyway. The pips are a bit harder to see in battle because they're so thin, but they work in the menus where width is limited. Maybe a QoL thing they can work into Part 3.
There is a scarf that increases atb charge bonus. Basically seems like it just tells you how much atb you start with.
No, that scarf is the same from Remake. It just makes you start with a part of ATB charged up. Charged bonus has to be something related to how the ATB bars recharge by doing normal actions for sure.
I'm so so happy with how they have continued to improve combat. Like they managed to make it still feel like JRPG combat but have positioning, action, dodges, etc. It's a monumental achievement and something we've seen SE try to pull off in different ways since FF12. I think they finally did it.

Regarding your content at the end and Synergy materia, I thought the Synergy-linked materia only activated when another teammate used green materia, not an ability?
No it procs off abilities and spells. Not items unfortunately but any atb use will proc synergy. Even if you use assess.
Anybody else having issues with Synergy Skills? I've unlocked them in the folio and they don't show up in the r1 menu nor do the show up in combat settings synergy ability section. For some characters they show up but others it just shows up as "Unlearned Offensive Skill". Unless I missing something it seems bugged out :/
The skills or the abilities? Thats odd, try resetting the points via square in the tree menu
In the open when fighting and one of the 3 objectives says pressured. How do you do that? Sometimes I get it sometimes I don’t.
Assess them, the yellow text on the left of their assessment tells you usually how they are pressured. It varies per enemy

I think overpower from the air will substitute divekick from the air...
Though personally, I hope remake abilities can only be learned in part 1, so you have to port saves for the complete experience.

I don’t know how she plays in Rebirth but she was my main dps for every chapter she was available for in Remake. Arcane ward plus -aga spells just nuked everything. That, plus the abilities and items that refund atb and give her free synergy attacks means she just never stops throwing bombs.

you just don't have access to level 2 limit breaks this early in the game, the synergy forces you to have it.
Bruh , I'm overwhelmed x_x Remember back when you didn't need to take a whole-ass college course or be a MK combo expert to play a FF game? I was able to play and enjoy Remake's main campaign and thought I'd be okay, but then things rapidly went south for me when i tried Yuffie's DLC and got annihilated. And Rebirth is just doubling down on all the chaotic combat elements from that, and when I attempt it, I get slaughtered. I think I've just gotten too old to hang :( Might just have to watch someone else's playthrough, which won't hit the same, but oh well.
Also I realized that synergy-comet materia is a crazy combo, free cast of comet? Why not!

Lvl 70 Cloud, Tifa, and Yuffie are unstoppable. Every character is well balanced in this game for any party formation but those 3 are another level of insane combos and damage.

it's hard to switch out barret and red....they both have basic synergy skills with cloud that are fast and ranged....just hold R1 and mash square and triangle a bit and boom full ATBs for everyone...im still way early in the game tho

How do you do the party slide cancel?
Just press circle to Parry slide in the middle of an animation. Then to Parry slide faster press circle then triangle circle rapidly

Tifa and yuffie melt everything, but love red. You gotta set aerith up but shes an animal as well. I havent played much with cait sith and barret is always a solid tank.
