I really enjoyed Wreckfest on PS5, it reminded me so much of Destruction Derby (2) on PS1. I used to watch an American CZcamsr who played it on PC with Mods like OTT physics which made collisions ridiculously funny, he commentated just like the American commentators do, all statistics and American pie enthusiasm. Brilliant.

The no rules online servers genuinely give me some of the biggest smiles. busses flying backwards at mach 10, dead cars littering the racetrack, people will play some of the dirtiest tricks on you and its hilarious.

It's worth mentioning the Flatout series as well, this game is the spiritual successor to that series from the PS2/360 era.

OG Flat out was amazing, unleashed was the sequel ? What havent they made a 9th gen Motorstorm !!
@@CouchCoop128 Flatout 1 was good, Flatout 2 was great, they remade 2 for the 360 and called it "Flatout Ultimate Carnage" or something like that, and that was good, but then Flatout 3 was meh, I think. And maybe there's a 4 that's bad too? IDK.
But those dudes made Wreckfest and that's why I'm so excited to check it out.

@@CouchCoop128 I got the game through ps+ which also included the PS5 version when it released. It's said to hit 60fps @ 4k, I haven't had any issues with THQ published games when it comes to promised performance.
I'm so happy that devs are tapping into the ps5 power and learning to optimize for it. We've got many years left with the current gen powerhouses (except the series S, obviously).

Got Flatout 2 on my ps2 great game still play it now and again, and I have this on my ps4 fantastic game I can't put it down.

Looking at the rather sorry state of racing games today (here's looking at you Forza and F1, 23) Wreckfest is simply one of the best racers around, it really puts alot of the other games to shame.

The best thing about this game is that Bugbear released a '87 Firebird TA GTA knock off... sure, ut would be better if it was the '82 Firebird TA but it is still lovely to see this icon of a car in a game.

Kinda sad that the Firebird knock off didn't get a Knight Rider front end Bumper...

It fun, it works, it has no cash shop, it KNOWS what kind of game it is. The shocking part is not it still being good greatness has no expiration date Mr Cooper. The shocking part is this screwed publishing and greed above all mindset is still being pushed down gamer's throats be it always online, a cash shop, or even console's having to pay to play online....
I wanted to make the point about modern racers just being static with damage, it feels so shit ! Also didn’t mention bugbear, the actual devs, hope you enjoyed that one mate, tried to tell a few jokes and that. I think gaming publishing is currently screwed, it doesn’t know what it is anymore or has turned into rather !

Because Wreckfest has no microtransactions that I'm aware of, that means we're not being screwed over with paywalls either. Bugbear is definitely not like Rockstar or EA.
really sad this is going to turn into a trackmania/burnout game, wreckfest has a super original slot no other games can manage to do…

@@CouchCoop128 I actually don’t Sim race. I just want to create a cockpit to play Wreckfest and hopefully part two when it comes out. More of a demolition, derby cockpit then a Formula One style.
