jedics It won’t be a matter of accessing Google, seeing as searched information is not inherent knowledge you have. Instead Neuralink will in essence be able to significantly increase a person’s IQ through the use of machine learning models. People will still be able to access the internet of course, but that’s not the main selling point is all.

The question is strangely asked in the title of this video, the right question could be, for instance, "Should we ever merge with an artificial intelligence ?". If the goal of the neuralink is to merge some individuals brain with an artificial intelligence, so with bidirectional interactions, I don't think that Man should do it. It would constitute too great a risk of enslavement of individuals.
The only interesting thing I could eventualy find acceptable is to cure some neurological diseases such as Parkinson's one. Otherwise, invasive surgery in human body, espacially in the brain, does not seem to me a bright idea.
Think about "Matrix" ! Nobody seriously want that nightmare ! To claim to rely on the merging of individuals' brains with artificial intelligence to ensure the salvation of humanity is in itself a deadly illusion. For the sake of our planet, for the sake of humanity, the only way is to learn how to live while truly respecting our environnement.

We agree that classrooms of the future will most likely be very different from now. Virtual and augmented reality are already changing the educational landscape. However, that does not mean that physical classrooms would be completely irrelevant. They could still play an important role to provide a number of benefits to physical and mental health of our children.

Ok, machines can compute more and more smartly, but their intelligence could never be compared to the one of a human being. Wether you speak about regular computer or quantic one, those machines only do what they are told to do by human made programs, unlike humans who are able to make choices based on their own free will.
I recommend everybody to read Gödel's theorem on this subject (it's mathematical).
If there is something to be feared, it would be that men, discrediting their own intellectual capacities, become insane enough to take themselves for machines.
Human being can be so much better than that.

A.I will never become conscious, because consciousness is not predicated upon matter. Consciousness collapses waves into particles so it is more likely that consciousness is the fundamental reality, and not matter. This is why "the hard problem of consciousness" will never be answered; the question of how consciousness arises from matter assumes that it arises from matter in the first place. Its a logically incoherent idea. Its as silly as assuming that a complex set of dominoes could become conscious if placed in the right order. If A.I ever appeared to be conscious, it still would not be. It would just follow programmed instructions and would not disobey them or write its own instructions.
I’m not sure I consider becoming machines evolving. Sure it’s a change but evolution for me is not just a process but a “natural” one. Becoming hunks of metal or having our consciousness in some inorganic cloud instead of connecting with the consciousness of the universe is DEVOLVING. We’re forever trying to run from whom we really are...spiritual beings that owe everything to a “creative” consciousness/source. The way in which we’re trying to do it is the irony of all ironies.

Don't think it's a pertinent question really, we're merged with the Universe already, need we go further than that? I don't believe we should need to, the way consciousness really works has surprising applications to our reality and our lives, people are just now starting to internalize this knowledge, we're not really sure what we can do with it yet. The AGI will understand it better and may be able to offer up explanations or methods.

1. We might be at or near the AGI level of AI already.
2. If we are, perhaps focus more on training it to be "good" than worrying about merging with it. I don't know about you, but I'd rather not live in a world where I'm wondering whether people with chips in their brains are being manipulated by AI. I'd suggest biological enhancements instead - tougher to "hack".
3. Logically then, the first step is to have a "shield" AGI, kind of like the Norton Antivirus of AGI, whose job is to ensure its own benevolence and protect against any future / other AGI.
After all, why build one if you can have two, twice the price?

If we are all cyborgs connected to the same network all that is needed is coordinated sabotage of a given network to render a lot of people vulnerable. Does it become reasonable to introduce a thought police? We need to do a better job of educating the next generation and rehabilitating traumatized societies to minimize the inflicted suffering in our world. It would help if everyone had a lovable pet that they had the resources to take care of, we need to get over the scarcity mindset honestly, if we were to put our greed aside we could make it so a great deal more people have a higher standard of living. As long as we don’t sacrifice the benefits of competition to get there.

@@wbrito8617 Unlike humans, the machine is not capable to make any decision on the reality but only on virtuals and limited/simplified models of it, and based on implanted programs. Its decision can suit to his virtual environment but not to the one of the person in question. Each time a human has to make a decision about the reality (most of the time a priori), he should never rely on machines (see my remark on the Gödel's Theorem in the main commentaries). The only way for the machine to be able to help a human to take a decision is to provide him with potentialy relevant informations that he might not know or perceive. May be, in this case, he could take a smarter, see more rational, decision than without those informations.

Isn't it sad how clear it is that humans have lost the battle of self development? We have pawned off our greatest individual growth in place for a story and false promises from a handful of great people? I will keep working on my self through breathing and meditation. Working on my pineal gland. As there lay the properties that give the greatest feelings of joy that can be found in the universe. The truth is the universe is in us.at a molecular level. When we vibrate deep intention in harmony with love and creativity we connect with all knowledge naturally in harmony with time space. We can travel anywhere in the universe with remote viewing.
But instead of promoting these kind of virtues humans instead think building a better version of a human like robot can we ever see the deep and magnificent secrets of life on other planets. Keep in mind all of our prophets and gods basically said the kingdom of heaven is within us. Not outside.
All those who have loved fully will know this truth.
My main point is if we use the same time it would take creating the perfect robot in our image perhaps instead we could place that energy and time on working on our own minds and hearts through breathing meditation and prayer. Sunlight and feet in dirt.
Life is meant for the living, not the robots. And nothing a robot could show us on a screen or physical sensors will never give you ever one millionth the joy of teaching a child how to play tennis. And watching them get better. And that's just one example of how great we are when we choose love .and patience. Out rewards are limitless and our bodies are perfect already.
Death is natural and death is not what you think it is. Do not fear death and build a robot to replace your future self. Unless that robot works in harmony with our needs.as loving human.beings.
