Please realize that the EX of Elvis, Priscilla Beaulieu, has been riding Elvis' coattails for decades now. They divorced on October 9, 1973, FIFTY YEARS AGO THIS YEAR.
Elvis and Priscilla Wagner/Beaulieu met in September 1959 in Germany when she was 14 and he 24. At this time, Elvis had a girlfriend back home, Anita Wood, whom he dated for several years and was only 2 years younger than Elvis. She was with his parents when Elvis was inducted into the army. In fact, Elvis' other girlfriends up to that point had always been around his own age, and some were even up to 6 years older than he was! So, he was not at all into underage girls (plural or otherwise).
He returned to the US on March 1, 1960, while Priscilla and her family remained in Germany. There she terrorized her mother and stepfather because she had only recently found out he was not her biological father. She went on a hunger strike, skipped school, and pretty much played Elvis and Mr. and Mrs. Beaulieu against each other. She told untruths about her home situation begging Elvis to save her by letting her come over and she made family life in Germany for her parents and half-siblings hell. It's all in her tell-all book and the mini-series that was made of it in the 1980s.
It was little “innocent” Priscilla who pursued Elvis, sending him risqué photos of herself (with knowledge/ permission of her parents!).
In a 1973 interview with Ladies Home Journal, Beaulieu is quoted saying that her mother, Ann Iversen, said that knowing Elvis was “an opportunity of a lifetime”. Her mother and stepfather played a questionable role in the development of Priscilla's long-distance "affair" with Elvis that reeks of ulterior motives. If they'd really been worried or incensed and believed that all the initiative came from Presley, they could have stopped it right then and there. Yet, they didn't; they played along.
They first allowed her to visit Elvis in the US when she was 16. More than a year passed until her next visit at 17. Priscilla did not move to Memphis until she was close to 18 when she moved in with Elvis' father Vernon and stepmother Dee.
It is total nonsense that she "lived with Elvis since she was 14".
SHE AND ELVIS WEREN'T EVEN ON THE SAME CONTINENT FOR THE BETTER PART OF 3 YEARS.
During the years before their marriage, Elvis was away from Memphis a lot, making 3 movies a year in Hollywood or locations such as Hawaii. And during all these years he was also still seeing other women. Priscilla had been aware of this since she met him: after all, she KNEW he had a girlfriend back home then, but that did not stop her from pursuing him. In the years before they married she also knew he had multiple affairs with co-stars. She could have left then, since they were not married yet, but of course, she stayed because the goal was to become Mrs. Presley.
According to Priscilla, Elvis had promised to marry her when she was 21. But as her birthday had come and gone and her 22nd birthday was approaching and Elvis still had not kept his word, Priscilla, her parents, and the colonel (Tom Parker) visited Elvis on a movie set. Nobody knows what really happened there, except that sometime during that visit, Elvis had a mysterious fall in the bathroom.
The most logical thing that happened is that a threat was made that they would go public about Elvis "dating" a minor while in his twenties if he would not keep his promise to marry her. After all: Jerry Lee Lewis had gone through a scandal that people might be reminded of if the Beaulieus had gone public: Jerry Lee Lewis had married his 13-year-old cousin!
After the visit of the Beaulieus and Parker to the movie set, all of a sudden everything escalated and a quick wedding ceremony was arranged on May 1, 1967 (23 days before Priscilla's 22nd birthday) in Las Vegas.
The strange thing about that was not just the timing, but also that many people who were close to Elvis were contacted by Parker's people to not attend the wedding.
The whole ceremony took just 8 minutes and afterward, they were ushered into a room for a press conference (listen to what the Memphis mafia guys say about them getting married at the 24:33 mark of czcams.com/video/p8blOqK90PM/video.html). You can hear what Elvis told about the wedding in the recording of the last phone conversation Red West had with him before he died "That wedding thing, that wedding thing. It was in there over and done with so quick. I didn't realize I was married." (czcams.com/video/p8blOqK90PM/video.html).
Priscilla soon became pregnant, but halfway through her pregnancy, Elvis already wanted to divorce her. 9 months after the wedding, daughter Lisa Marie was born, after which there was almost no physical relationship between Elvis and Priscilla. By then the 1968 Comeback Special had given a new impulse to his career and from 1969 on he was away from Memphis touring the US for an average of 200 days a year.
Both Elvis and Priscilla had affairs during their short marriage. They separated in February of 1972 when Priscilla and Lisa moved to California and Elvis remained in Memphis. Elvis was livid that Priscilla left him for karate teacher Mike Stone (a married man) who only made 30 thousand dollars a year. Elvis started his relationship with Linda Thompson in the summer of 1972.
Elvis and Beaulieu were only married for 6 years on paper. Elvis filed for divorce ON HIS 38TH BIRTHDAY, Jan. 8, 1973. The divorce was finalized on October 9, 1973.
Priscilla rejected the name Presley and returned to her maiden name Beaulieu after the divorce, stating she wanted to be her own person. She even started a business under that name. Right after the divorce she gave (magazine) interviews in which she adamantly stated she wanted to be known as Priscilla Beaulieu, wanted to be known as her own person and not as the property of Elvis Presley, whom she pretty much described as a lousy husband and father (while praising herself as the true parent to Lisa, and the disciplinarian) as well as a has been.
After the divorce, Beaulieu had (live-in) relationships with Mike Edwards, Robert Kardashian, Terry O'Neill, Elie Ezerzer and Kirk Kerkorian. After Elvis passed away, she had the longest relationship in her life with Marco Garibaldi from 1984-2006. They separated in 2006. Together they had a son, Navarone, in 1987. She never married Garibaldi, although she had a much longer relationship with him than she'd had with Elvis, possibly because she wanted to hang on to the Presley name. Elvis' body was barely 6 ft under, or she started using the name Presley again. As years went by, she also altered many facts in Elvis history, making her own role more prominent than it really was. Members of the Memphis Mafia, as well as Elvis' cousin Billy Smith, have all called her out on that in interviews some of which are on CZcams.
Elvis did not mention Beaulieu AT ALL in his will; not as his former wife, not as the mother and/or guardian of his only child, and certainly not by name: final proof of his eternal love for her.
If people really believe the Beaulieu family would have acted the same way if Elvis had remained a truck driver learning to be an electrician, they are beyond naive. The Beaulieus had dollar signs in their eyes when they pimped out their rebellious (step)daughter.
As for those who buy the story that she saved Graceland and has kept Elvis' legacy alive: Beaulieu is just Col. Parker 2.0. and did not save Graceland by herself. She hired people who did that for her. And not all decisions she helped make were fantastic or in good taste to preserve Elvis' memory and legacy. She was still member of the board of EPE when they okayed dog collars and toiletpaper with pictures of Elvis or his name on it as well as Elvis Presley Whiskey as official Elvis merchandise. How does that honor his legacy? Everybody who knows anything about Elvis knows he wasn't a drinker and that both his parents had their issues with alcohol. Red West once said that Elvis would already get tipsy from smelling the cork of a wine bottle, LOL. He may have been addicted to prescription drugs, but he stayed away from alcohol.
The real person responsible for saving Graceland is Blanchard E. Tual soulrideblog.com/2019/01/06/elvis-week-2019-blanchard-e-tual-hero/

The last shot is them leaving divorce court. she left him for his Karate instructor, but he took care of she and Lisa till he died in 77. He never spoke ill of her and they both tried to raise Lisa together in spite of the divorce. No matter what people say, Elvis was a kind and generous man. Thank for this great reaction. Would you do 'Patch it Up" from Vegas in 1970. Thanks,

Elvis said he would give anything if he could spend one day just being Elvis the person; that says multitudes about the toll that type of fame takes on people who get to that level. He was a man who was never meant to be married, not w-his love of being w-women & to his non-stop travel, there was no way to have a home life. According to all that's been written, he diid not want to get married (lots written about the details). This song was written by Wayne Carson, Johnny Christopher, and Mark James, first recorded by Brenda Lee. Elvis recorded "Always on My Mind" on March 29, 1972, a few weeks after his February separation from Priscilla. Btw, while his sunglasses always looked cool, he did have painful glaucoma, the mega bright house lights & stage lights were hard on his eyes & in the mid 70's he had emergency in-office eye surgery, the sunglasses a bit of a help for his eyes & it's been said he wasn't far away from losing his site. But he never stopped giving his all. Maybe you would listen to "Tomorrow Never Comes" for a build-up to a glass shattering finish czcams.com/video/QhYtB7pjkS0/video.html not live but w-beautiful photos. Thanks.

Jane H commenting …. Elvis had a black belt to 8th degree in Karate. He did it daily as a way to keep fit for his concerts, plus he would rough-play with friends & bodyguards as you can see in the video. When he got very sick heading towards his death, he could no longer do that, though just a few hours before he passed, he played racquet ball with friends at 4am. That activity with such an enlarged heart, was not at all good, but then he didn’t know he had an enlarged heart. They are saying he had had three heart attacks before his passing, which no-one was aware of. I recently read a story from one of his step-brothers, David Stanley, that 2 weeks before his death, his former step-mother phoned & Elvis told her he was in terrible pain, so perhaps he was having a heart attack then. He never sought medical help & he died alone. It’s so very sad. At the time that this happened, the ‘tell all’ book written about Elvis had just been published, & of course Elvis, according to his girlfriend, felt very betrayed by three of his former bodyguards that had been fired for beating up some fans. One of them said they had written it our of revenge. Elvis had gone to High School with two of them, & had employed them on good wages, bought them brand new very costly cars, bought at least one of them a house & gave a lot more than that to them. And they turned around & did that. After Elvis’ death, Red West said he had no regrets about them writing the book, but he did regret Elvis’ death. They all knew they had played a terrible part in Elvis’ death, & to see them with tears in their eyes when they talked about him 20 years after his death, just sickened me. But it was lovely to see him enjoying himself, & I can see from the way he is treating Priscilla, that he loved her. However, as much as she still goes on about Elvis being “The love of my life” she wrote a book less than 5 years after his death, & recently approved the movie Priscilla, from that book, & their daughter Lisa Marie was disgusted after seeing some of the movie & said she would Never endorse a movie that was making her beloved father to be a manipulative predator. She & her mother always had a strained relationship. As far as I am concerned, if go around saying Elvis was the love of your life, & then you do something like that, it is all about money & Priscilla is already worth over $50 million, & she’s in her eighties & most of that money she made out of the Presley estate. After her daughter Lisa Marie died, she even took her own granddaughter, Riley, to court, & that was all about money. I would never watch that movie. Elvis isn’t here to defend himself, but those men & Priscilla just dragged his name through the mud, & you don’t do that to someone that you ever loved.

Great video of Elvis relaxed and happy. He loved his family and rather relax with his family and friends than socialise with the Hollywood elite. He surrounded himself with his trusted and loyal friends, known as the Memphis Mafia. They were his companions and his body guards and security. Love that you are enjoying Elvis who was a great performer. Sadly the last photo was of Elvis and Pricilla leaving court after finalising their divorce. His lifestyle drove them apart, although he adored his family, he left them behind too much. 👌💕🕺

Elvis made 3-4 movies a year in the sixties so Elvis bought a bus and Elvis himself often drove it. At stops they fooled around and often their arms were black and blue from punches/kicks)
Photos/videos were taken on the road from LA to Memphis or visa versa.

Elvis met Priscilla in Germany when he was 24, and she was 14! He fell in love with her instantly. She lived at Graceland for 6 yrs before they married. Unfortunately, it only lasted 6 years due to him never being home with his family because of his career and philandering with other women.. But he still loved her until the end. Sad story.. Unfortunately they weren’t the perfect couple, they had so much not in common with each other it was crazy. Elvis wasn’t faithful and she wasn’t either later on. Priscilla makes it this fairytale but it wasn’t. No hate towards her but some stuff just don’t add up. Yes they look beautiful together but sometimes beautiful ppl aren’t meant for each other.

"Always on My Mind" was written by Wayne Carson, Johnny Christopher, and Mark James. Elvis obviously picked it because it expressed what he wanted to say at that time. He Recorded it on March 29, 1972 right after He and Priscilla Seperated, She said in an interview that he gave her the song 🎵 ❤. Yes, they loved each other till the day he died but Priscilla just wanted a normal life and when your married to someone as Famous as Elvis, though I'm sure he tried, it just wasn't possible.

I know the Vegas Show you are referring too, where Elvis said there is a Song I've been singing and everyone thinks it's about my personal life but it's Not, it's just a Beautiful Song Written by Marty Robbins and I just love singing it. The only Song Marty Robbins wrote that Elvis sang was "You Gave Me A Mountain" so his comment about the song, wasn't referring to "You Were Always On My Mind", and it's not unusual for a man to say one thing in public, that may be quite different than what he feels in private.
