Ink Mines on the Annaki Splattershot Nova is so underrated honestly, making a weapon like that go from a 5 shot to a 3 shot while also helping with flanks is so good.
Plus you can put one on you inkjet recall to prevent campers
No fr the amount of milage you can get by placing a mine and backing up behind it is kinda insane also running drop roller and placing a mine on your ink jet spot lets you actually defend yourself when getting camped (if they dont pop a bomb)

Before the season dropped I saw a lot of people saying these were the worst kits so far because of the lack of lethal bombs. Now that the season is actually here tho, I honestly think these kits are not only super fun but pretty healthy for the game.

Honestly tho'. What's bizarre is the fact that a lot of these without bombs still feel rather fun without feeling "sweaty". Like, competitively, I imagine these would end up popping up decently to break up the same 'ol, same 'ol. And casually (other than the fact, y'know, new season, people gonna play new weapons), there's just more variety & that's really nice.
@@SaltyToad00 annaki nova too. It's fighting capability isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be (still bad but not awful) and if you are mindful to keep distance you can do well. I've had several games with over 15 splats with it so far
These kits are honestly way better than they seemed at first. Maybe we should let Nintendo cook after all
Painbrush is really fun personally I have been doing the sharking technique with the curling bomb and it works really well. Just add some sub ink saver and it's really good.
Its okay imo. There are flaws in the weapon such as the paint pattern, blind spots, and damage fall off. Curling is actually not that bad for the weapon

You definitely need to shark with the painbrush. It's damage at a range is bad, so getting up close and personal really helps. I also run sub saver, main saver, and LDE, because the weapon is so ink hungry in all departments.

I'm obsessed with the light tetras bc I mained the dark ones so obviously I'm going to main the light ones. I got 4 star on day 3 lol. Also for zipcaster, zip to the floor close to people bc of your rolls and you want to be really aggressive bc when you zip to a wall and roll you go straight down not side ways so you want to get very close to people. That's it for my tetra tips

After playing rapid deco for all of the last season I've been trying out pro deco and surprisingly it works pretty well with angle. Like, obviously a lot of things would've worked better, but it's better than sprinkler, it's about as good as mist, and I'm actually liking it as a way to make chargers move, like, if there's one camping top of inkblot I can double angle shooter it from outside its range and it has to move or else it's in danger. It also gives a faster killtime and a way to chase kills similarly to bucket deco and location at range is very valuable for rapid
Yeah that’s honestly a goofy ahh kit for a main weapon that can hit around walls. Plus 4 angle shooters back to back when you pop wail after the first two is op
heavy deco feels like the winner of the patch. Kraken is so good for staying alive or stalling or getting into positions and is even helped by sensor, it is beautiful
tbh i think rapid pro deco is way better then heavy deco
I liked the style of this video! the casual Chara gameplay was fun to watch, with him explaining everything! I learned a few tips about nova, thanks Chara!!
I just realized that these videos with Chara talking over gameplay, remind me of STAR's old tf2 post commentary videos and both are just so well done
These are definitely the best set of kits overall despite the lack of bomb and whatever they were cooking with the S-Blast. It’s a shame that it’s only 9 though

i have been absolutely loving the new big swig, line marker isnt the easiest thing to hit but it can be really nice for shaving off some kill time and being able to poke backliners is really nice (esp in soloq where people do not use specials on them)
I wish we got some Stringer kits, at this point Nintendo is holding out on us just long enough for their excuse to make third kits for shooters before giving their new flagship weapon classes all four new kits.
Ink Mine/Wave Breaker is my personal dream kit for Tri-Stringer.
I personally want a more aggresive Tri-Stringer kit that can play into a more aggressive role (its movement really helps with this role). If it were up to me, I would do splat bomb (a get off me tool) and booya bomb (survivability).
@@pixal1250 I think REEF-LUX needs an aggressive kit way more than Tri Stringer, it has the main weapon stats for it
The new Light Tetra and Wiper Deco seems to be weapons to have much of a higher skill ceiling than their vanilla counterparts. However as more time passes, I think I’ll get the hang of it and the playstyles I’ll develop will be interesting(Not Wiper obviously, but still).
Their vanillas def have a much easier time getting started, if you play them as QR weapons - just fight a lot, who cares how long you live?
Both of the new kits want to stay alive longer to get their special, and so require a different tack - I mained Vanilla Wiper all last season, and the Deco definitely wants to play in a more careful, supporting role - unless you’ve got a team comp to allow it to dive constantly anyway, like Chara’s in the NA open

I would love to see more of this type of content! Really useful to get a basic understanding of how to play each new weapon!
The new Big Swig Express has been an absolute blast to play, each part of the kit (Dart included) lets you get so many assists in game. Yea Dart is ink hungry and takes away from your painting capabilities, but it massively extends your kill range on vertical flicks; now, all you need to do is deal at least 65 with your vertical flick (which is decently far) and then Dart them for the clean kill. Plus, Dart from far away is really funny
AGREEED XD It's one of my favourite weapons! ^^ The normal Big Swig is really fun, to me, and Angle Shooter is so much fun to use, in my opinion, and I'm so happy they put both of those together!
I know it's solo queue, but I'm glad even Chara has difficulties using the custom dualie squelchers. If only it had missiles to help it poke, and deco splatana had chumps to help it fight.

I still think Annaki Splattershot Nova is a super fun weapon with a very good kit in Turf wars if you dedicate yourself to aiming with Inkjet and getting good with Mines

You’re absolutely right. I love the kit (even more so when I use Kraken to punish), and it’s just a plain fun kit that nails pretty much every attribute of Slayer/Skirmisher, Support, and Backline. It can get in, get out, and go all around!

I maybe played a splatling once before this season, but I tried the heavy deco (mostly to get the sheldon license) and I was surprised how fun I found it
I found that the Annaki Nova is in a very similar position to the Vanilla L-3 Nozzlenose, a weapon I have a lot of experience with from the first 2 seasons.
Both are mid range paint bots that farm a very powerful special, and have a sub that can neither poke nor help in fights, and are both outclassed by a top tier weapon with the same special.
The only difference is that the L-3 actually has a decent main weapon, and the Annaki has a sub that actually does something.
Big Swig Express is very fun. It's even more disgusting on zones than vanilla and Ink Storm MASSIVELY helps with its fighting capability, your giant swings become so much more threatening.
I’ve been pretty lucky this season. Found the Icy Down Boots in the shoe shop[[Ice Down Boots are a catalog level 91 item so I was like pretty shocked when I saw them just chilling in the shop.]] and actually starting to get good with dualies too! Things are going quite well for me!

i've been having so much fun with the heavy deco kit, i'm so glad it's a more aggressive alternative to the vanilla.
I personally want a more aggresive Tri-Stringer kit that can play into a more aggressive role (its movement really helps with this role). If it were up to me, I would do splat bomb (a get off me tool) and booya bomb (survivability).
I want angle shooter chump for mine! (It’s feasable and great)
Torpedo or autobomb and inkstorm or chumps i think could work, angle shooter or point sensor might also work(but i wouldnt want another weapon with point sensor and inkstorm and i think inkstorm would work great on tri stringer)

Rapid Deco Pro is my favourite for the new weapons/kits. The direct-dart-combo is fun, also I got someone with the dart behind a corner with help of the tower. 😁
Light Tetra is the second fun weapon for me and third the Annaki Nova. It's fun using mines and fly with the Inkjet.
Light tetras really are addicting. I literally have only played dapple dualies ONCE before sizzle season and had 0 other dualies experience, but when i tried the light tetras i fell in love and used them for literally hours, i 4 starred that thing in like 2 days lmao

A tip I can give for Rapid Pro Deco with the line marker (and line marker in general): if your opponent is on equal ground, try bouncing it off the floor! It's way easier to line up than to just throw it in the air, and it will ALWAYS go the same arc, regardless of how you bounce it

Tetras have become my secondary weapon I’m going to be going for the 5⭐️ grind here we go!
I was super excited for this season because I'm a heavy main, but I've actually been playing mostly Nova because it's so good with mines and jet! I'll have to balance my time practicing with the heavies and nova though, I tend to spread myself too thin
The new heavy makes backlining actually aggressive, i was stuck at the back doing nothing and now i can do things in the match!

I have said this time and time again, but the tenta sorella brella feels amazing. Being able to with combo the mines and being able to pick at eliters is so satisfying
Also you can really feel the bug fix, but I kinda feel like they over did it. I have a clip where I absolutely should have died but didnt.
I'm pretty new to splatoon (this is my first game) and I've been a heavy splatling main for most of that time. Playing heavy deco is SO FUN, me personally I'm very defensive when it comes to competitive games so I love a kit that's so strong both defensively and offensively. I've been playing heavy deco a LOT more aggro and this video gave some things I can try as well 👀

If you're looking for other fun weapons that can do well defensively, I swear by Bloblobber ever since falling in love with it at the end of Splatoon 2. We're still waiting on a new kit with a better subweapon, and with the devs' proclivity to reference old kits it'll probably get Splash Wall soon.

The big swig single vertical into dart combo is a faster combo kill than the vertical horizontal combo from playing. Still very situational thou.

I've really been enjoying annaki nova, because it forces enemy players to either
A. Chase nova through what are likely mine traps to kill it before it paints for special
B. Ignore nova and hope it doesn't kill anyone with its inkjet
So far I absolutely love the new big swig and heavy kits I love that the heavy kits play so differently the vanilla heavy is more defensive and the heavy deco is annoying it's great (still suck at using kraken unfortunately)
Lol it's ok I've been struggling with Kraken myself. I love how aggressive the heavy deco kit is and I'll be a force to be reckoned with when I master the special!

I think it'd be a little annoying if it was one of the best weapon in the game, but it'd just be cool if it was an option you don't have to pick, but if you wanna build around it you're gonna do good (kinda like carbon deco)

Honestly - Swig is just happy to have a sub that doesnt take 75% of the tank, Swig is good enough of a main that the Sub and special is just icing, as long as its not Wall+Vac

The dualie squelchers were the only ones that took a loss... 🤧🤧 I do like the kit, I wish it could fight better tho, either not have beacons or do more damage. Super chump is really fun on it and I wish it could get it more often. I pray for Dualie Squelcher buffs that aren't unhealthy 🙏🙏

Playing as a Heavy Splatling main, the new kit is definitely gonna take a 'lil adjusting to, especially with the new emphasis on more selfish & overwhelming play, over supportive but walling play. I can get kills rather easily with Heavy, but typically on surprise or when my team is rolling by, so needing to take the steps forward myself is gonna be an interesting experience. At least Kracken has been a fun special to go with, & I'm used to using Point Sensor thanks to Nautilus.
What came as a giant surprise tho', only ever playing Dark Tetra as my "main dualies", Custom Dualie Squelchers is looking itself be that new one. I kinda' end up playing my own game of "clean this here, help this guy there, clean up a 'lil... Boop! Beacon." rinse & repeat. And having never played a weapon with beacons before, it's surprisingly fun setting them up, dying, then getting back into the action near-immediately. Bonus points when y'got teammates using them too.

Yep. I'm still jealous that the Heavy Deco gets the Kraken while the Custom Dualie Squlechers gets stuck with the chumps _sighs_, at least I got the Light Tetras to ease the pain
As a religious tent main i can safely say that tent is *much* better, the mine damage helps with tent incinsistemcy but the most important thing is the shield bug fix which finally lets tent work as intended

Prochara i am having trouble with using that paint tech you showed for nova in splatoon 2 (on tentatek splattershot and airbrush MG), the camera seems to not follow my inputs in time or something. How can i make this work better so i don't need to strafe slower than i normally could?

honestly i feel like ive had more survivability on the original heavy weirdly enough..
with the delay they gave Kraken in this game, i tend to get punished super easy when panic popping. but the original, throwing wave by your feet and circling around it to take shots + the free tank refill makes it great for surviving tbh. maybe im just not used to Royale compared to 1 LMAO

The fact that we don't have any throwaway useless kits like the previous seasons I think makes up for the fact that we didn't get as many tbh
