- On Friday, April 19th, 2024, the MTA reopened the southbound (Manhattan-bound) platforms at the 82nd Street-Jackson Heights and 111th Street Stations on the (7) Line. These platforms were closed for an extensive rebuilding project. In this video, I visit both stations and voice my thoughts on the improvements.

The dyre ave line has been perpetually under construction.
Why? The line isn't even that long, and has only afww stations.
idk why the 5 isnt rerouted to nereid/wakefield for now
@@robotx9285Cause it's old and falling apart.
@@michaelmorales1475 I don't see whole that would make Reconstruction harder, cause the steer age would help make the stations easier to take apart.
Yeah the Gun Hill station looks kinda nice.
The 7 line is one of the best lines in the city.
Yes, but the E is good too
@@Lansley-jh7qmboth the 7 and E are one of the best and busiest lines in the system. I still think the 7 is better than the E
Nope the 4 line has the best elevated lines in the city. To look at the building in the West Bronx the architecture is amazing. Despite some of the areas that it rides but still.
161- Yankee Stadium > Mets- Willet Point
Woodlawn- Jerome > 111 Street
Mosholu Pkwy > 90st-Elmhurst
Bedford Park Blvd > 82 St Jackson Hgts
E/ W Kingsbridge Road > Court Sq
The List goes on and on
4>7 not being biased.
@@ishrakkhan5541 I’d say the 4 5 and 6 lines are more busy lines
@@ibrahimabah3693yep Lexington is the busiest lines for the A division.
It’s crazy how this project was planned out back in 2014, but was never funded or even noticed 🤷♂️ last time the MTA did plan to fund the project was in 2019, with 2020 being the starting date, but Covid changed those plans
I’m very glad to hear that Westchester Sq East Tremont Ave Station are getting elevators
I don't get why they always choose these prison colors for everything. Lighting and paint are basically free ways to improve the whole system. Add bright LEDs with a slightly warmer hue, and paint everything white or pastel colors. It would literally reduce crime and make people feel more comfortable. Or even expanding the art projects to more stations would be a nice way to make it a happier and less stressed out place.
White wouldn't work, but yeah the cream and green doesn't look good.
I think they should have kept that 82 sign at 82nd Street.
They should have definetley added an Elevator at 111st especially since there is a whole new community coming to Willets Point area and there is No Elevator there.
Yes, definitely. It seems to me illegal that they rebuilt half of the station and did not make it accessible.
111st before the renovation was so delapitated it seemed like the entire station could've collapsed at any moment.
They should have gone with the design of the Astoria Line as it would have given a good look into elevated stations in the 21st Century, and that would have allowed to have room for artwork and the big 82 would have gone at the middle and even a huge 111 as well could have been there but they used wood to completely renovate it and those stations are not even close to done. If anything they can renovate them while they are open so it doesn’t interfere with the commuters and the 7X.
Finally they finished work on the 82nd Street and 111th Street on those platforms, but this renovation project is far from over…
Thank you for acknowledging Westchester Square and the accessibility projects currently happening
I really hope they build exit-only stairs at the eastbound (northbound?) platforms, especially 82 St. 103 St also needs it badly.
You did an amazing job with this one 0:15
I was actually passing by those two renovated stations yesterday late afternoon on my way back to Manhattan from flushing. Have to say, it just looks like every newer stations on the West End,Culver and Brighton in Brooklyn. Every station on the 7 line needs upgrading and renovations. Stations between Queensboro Plaza and Woodside are like falling apart. The 69th Street,90th Street and the 103rd Street stations need’s to be renovated so as Mets Willets Point needs to be ADA Accessible
Despite me not going to these stations a lot I usually go one stop before, usually 74th street and 103rd street. And I was always curious to see how they would look.
I do agree that more could’ve been done, maybe a new station design. But overall not bad.
Nice. Also, aren't they gonna start renovating/reconstructing the entire Rockaway line soon?
You’re talking about the bridge?? Which would close like in 2025?
@@nyctransitrailfan Yes.
2:12 They should put the giant 82 there.
any videos about those platforms like a day before the work, being demolished, and that?
U should do the j train renovations as well that open up recently
I'll take this suggestion into consideration
cool video they should rebuld lefferts blvd station the station is leaking and creakes on the floor you should go to lefferts blvd on the a line
Is 111st really finished? I'm pretty sure it's supposed to look more like 82nd street...
Always a good day when mystic uploads
Always!
Anyone know what's happening with the express track at 61st-Woodside and why it's been under construction for over half a year now? There's no postings or anything at the station about what or why they're doing so
Waiting for any update on when they will start the next set of stations. Was supposed to be January!
Looks good and clean though. I expect a lot of those cream walls to be covered with advertising, but hopefully some art too
There will eventually be art work installed, and LED advertisements, there was a snapshot of the design of the stations in June 2022 that reveals art work in sections of the station
I only want the MTA to build classic IRT, BMT, or IND designs. Modern designs aren’t for me.
Yeah they should start relocating the original blueprints.
The only art that going up is Graffiti.
Could you provide any info on what they're doing to the Woodside station? And when do they think it will be finished--some time in 2025? What's the end result going to be?
They’re rebuilding the track support structure beneath the Woodside station, Which is why express service has been cut, they’ll renovate that station too, overall the project will be completed by 2025
@@nyctransitrailfanSo now express service until 2025? That's preposterous.
Are there going to make more extension videos with brand new subway?
Maybe in the future, but I have none planned at this time.
I know the Reconstruction is finished
Can u upload more frequent if u can? I really enjoy ur vids.
Mystictransit, I heard that the express stops west of 74 st will stay local until late 2025 or so! 🤯. Do u know anything about that?
Yes, the MTA is planning to use the express track as local service, and temporary platform will be installed at 46th, 40th and 33rd street, which would explain why express service won’t return to normal by 2025, however this could change, it’s still being worked out
@ezrapotter4631 I'm not completely sure why, but you can use the MTA's official website for more information: new.mta.info/project/flushing-line
Extended the 7
To the Bronx.
To NJ 😃
To Little Neck and or College Point just like someone else proposed.
There is some lines that need to be extended tbh like the 2 and 5 lines in Brooklyn
@@2dtech541 yeah this and another channel tech transit association both made videos about this once proposed extension.
I don't take the seven, is that elevated line in the elevated track actually in use? I've never seen that on other lines so it's pretty cool to see.
Lol nvm, I made it to the end of the video. That's so cool!😊
I used to ride the 7 express, it used that raised track. It’s still in use if the express still runs.
they need to put brodway junction on construction.
I wish they had left the balustrades at the end of the platform and made it look more original. The chain fence looks ugly and cheap.
It’s about time 82nd & 111th St stations are getting renovations I hope the other older stations on the (7) gets the same treatment.💜
52nd 69th 103 Street are all on the project, sadly 90th street and willets point were left out
@@nyctransitrailfan what about 61st st woodside?
@@virtudesbatista that’s a separate project, it’ll also get renovated but it’s not part of the same contract.
@@nyctransitrailfan I see thanks for the info
First
Nope
Nice Job!
