As the owner of a 2007 Liberty Sport, I find this video somewhat difficult to watch.
I am having the front differential replaced (it's in the shop right now!) due to a leak caused by hitting a rather hard piece of granite on a gnarly rocky road at 10,00 feet in the Sierra Nevada range in California.

yes, you can. in fact libby in the video is very close to stock model. all you have to do is be gentle over bumps, and keep the momentum. just bare in mind, that 4x4 is not actually four wheel drive. its more like 2.5 wd. so when you have in it 4Lo position wheel with least traction will be the one that spins on each axle.

"full time" is for "full time use" as in AWD option. use that in the snow. "Part time" locks the center diff, so your axles are locked together. Driving like that on high traction surface like concrete will slowly tear your drive line apart.

I take care of my equipment and off roading, as you know, puts a big strain your rig. 3.7 have valve seat issues and unless you have corrected this problem, your engine will not last long. It was much better at off road stuff than the discovery. I was just curious whats the best jeep roughly this size. I,d love to hear my US cousins opinion on it, you,s have the greatest off road scene and following anywhere in the world. Allways been a big fan of cj7, cj5, 80,s trailblazer and cherokee.. I want to emigrate south now I'm middle aged. Id live the dream in my shack, I'll need a rusty old 4x4 truck for logistics, maybe a big old gmc. But I'd need a day to day jeep for transport, I'm not worried about flashy rubbish even though my top choice would be a cj7 golden eagle. Or a cj7 with a 460 motor

Both of these t case variants had same options and no differential in the t case. ( No 4hi full time option) that means whenever 4wd is engaged, both drive shafts will spin at the same speed. At the time of this adventure, Jeep still had open diffs with at front and rear axles. That is why you see it struggling. Only nv242j t case has 4wd full time option, and it would be even more useless in this situation.

Bro this guys stupid, that wasted so much gas, if he would have backed up all the way next to the white car, and go farther to the left he would have gotten through

over 4 minutes of a vehicle that should have gotten the strap immediately. The destruction of the area because of this and the other idiots is just terrible!

Most if not all of you "offroaders" would've gotten stuck too ... tires are NOT the solution to everything ... had the driver in this video kept up his momentum and only gave small steering inputs he would've made it through ...

    • @unit2224

Actually no. The part of the trail he's on, has very deep ruts. every time we get out there, first jeep always gives that side a go just for the hell of it. The only way to get through there is stay on the high points and once it gets wet, surface becomes slick as oil. we know we can't drive through, but never the less we try every time. Because why not.
