Here is a video of a Twin Otter performing a short landing and take off from the Rumdoodle blue ice skiway on the Antarctic Plateau near Mawson Station.
The twin otter sound reminds me of my childhood on the island of Mauritius. I lived in a village near the airport in the late 1970s and there was a daily air service to Rodrigues island 600 km away. The twin otter would noisily take off at 10 am and come back by 2 pm buzzing low over the village. The peasants used the noise from the daily flights as their clock. 10 am was the time to start heading back home from the fields, 2 pm was afternoon tea time :). The twin otter got replaced by the ATR42 and the fun was gone from the daily clock.

I've always loved the Twin Otters, it's a Canadian thing!
Us Canadians know how to bush fly, "EH"! LOL
Excellent film footage and sound.
About 3 lengths of the fuselage...the venerable Twin Otter. And if you notice, most of these STOL's are done by Kenn Borek Air.
nice acceleration in ground effect
Always loved it when the twins would loose the wheel skis and just ran the ski packs. Seemed pretty much impossible to keep them om the ground.
It almost seems impossible, the takeoff especially!!! 🛬😮🛫
It would be without the wind.

I would have liked to seen Let's Go Brandon! on the fuselage underbelly. However a thumbs up was still delivered as the plane is awesome.
Nobody cares about your stupid politics.
