Fun fact about 6:30: Brown LEGO bricks are infamous for being flimsy compared to other colors due to the materials used for specifically brown bricks.
They fixed it a few years ago but yeah for a long time they were considerably more fragile.

ah yes, pigments. not too many people really understand what a pigment is, it's not just a powder or ink. they come from specific materials from pretty much anything. if the material they got the pigment from was put into plastic, it changes the physical composition and integrity of the plastic. it's a shame i couldn't find the specific materials used and why it interacted w plastic like that.

My dad was welding a lot in his workshop in our basement, and I was helping him a lot as a kid.
His warning not to look into it, has burnt so deep into my mind, that I feel uncomfortable to look at it even in a video.
The glasses do help with lessening the UV a bit, but yeah, not a good idea.

Older brown LEGO bricks are much more fragile than the rest for some reason. Something about the dye they used to use made them really brittle. Modern brown bricks have fixed this error

6:36 I know Lego had a period in the 2010s where brown pieces specifically were very prone to breaking I think because they tried making them out of a different material. I had a couple sets as a kid that I sold a few years ago and the brown pieces were all brittle and easily broken after years.
