This doesn't really make sense to me, it's the same ride with a different animaronic . The joke of the ride was that while Roger was off to save Jessica, she turned the tables on the weasels and saved herself. The ride is great but the story doesn't make sense to me now.

YES! For such a hyper-animated film, I've always felt there's an awful lot of non-moving scenery in there. Project some falling plates and glasses in the china shop! A lot more electrical zaps! More gags in the gag warehouse. Just get more of a kinetic feel going on.
I will say, that the portable hole gag at the end is really well staged. That effect is one of my favorites.
why? what makes this ride so great is its lack of digital effects. its nearly all practical and physical effects, which makes it so much more immersive. the excessive screen usage in runaway railway honestly makes it feel less like im *in* a cartoon and more like im watching one. car toon spin genuinely makes me feel like im part of a cartoon. that being said, there could definitely be more moving props in this ride, which thankfully is remedied somewhat in the superior tokyo version.
That's cool that they added Carmen Sandiego. The character doesn't get enough love.

I thought of a story revamp while in the shower that would tie Jessica’s new role better:
It’s been years since Judge Doom was dipped and Toontown has mostly been forgotten, Roger is practically a b list movie star and Jessica has retired from acting when Mickey and Minnie have announced they bought the old El Capitoon Theatre and are remodeling it to revitalize Toontown.
With the grand opening approaching Jessica has heard word that the Weasel’s are up to something and discovers they’re planning to dip all the guests attending the grand opening.
Remembering her old friend Eddie Valiant Jessica dons a detective coat to hunt down the weasels herself and stop them. Roger hears this and decides to help his wife.
After this setup in the queue the ride would have some changes to accompany this story setup along with a new ending where Mickey and Minnie give Jessica and Roger medals for stopping the weasels from ruining the grand opening.
This would tie in nicely with the revitalized Toontown and the new Mickey ride.
They could use voice doubles, pretty much the same thing they did with Roger Rabbit. Plus there’s also going to be a whole revamp of Toontown so it’s not completely forgotten yet.
This could also probably tie in with the comic issue “Resurrection of Doom” where after Doom’s death, Roger is laid off and Jessica’s new job could be her way of providing money for the family
With Toontown closing in March 2022 for a massive renovation to open in Summer 2023, that wouldn’t be a bad idea to do, because I highly doubt what we see here will be the final product. They’re just showing us what’s yet to come.

@@thatoneguy609 it actually is out of character. Its in character with Mr. Valiant. Not Jessica Rabbit. She was what the typical 1940s bombshell singer would look like. As for the movie she wasnt a minor role but she was no hero like Valiant. Roger got credit and kisses from Jessica rabbit in the end as the hero. Much to the dismay of Valiant given the slight disappointment on his face. It was really Valiant who was the hero. Most importantly she never wore a trench coat Valiant did.

Shes still sexy but like this is just unnecessary. The beauty of her character is iconic. The fact the shes married to a silly toon rabbit is one of the best messages in animation. You can be ugly and stupid so long as you got a loving and caring heart you can be with whomever you want. Thats how I always saw it. It just feels nasty that Disney did this like why cover her up why not let her express her woman features and shape? I don't get it.

As much as I love this ride, Toontown really needs a change in major attractions. I gotta put in one last ride for old times sake. At least the character houses are getting some needed changes I guess

There's Mickey's Runaway Railroad coming, tho I also wish it got a rollercoaster similar to Slinky-Dog's, just over Toontown.

From what it looks like, they're just expanding the land to add not only The capitoon theater which will be home to the new ride mickey and Minnie's runaway railroad, but the queue is supposed to have famous toon props, they're also adding a big park for kids to play called centoonial Park which will have an interactive water fountain and a giant "wishing tree". The character homes will be getting a Refurbishment (god knows chip and dale's treehouse needs it.) While Gadget's go coaster and roger rabbit's car toon spin will be getting the Refurbishment and TLC they deserve

One of the few rides I think should be re-done. The concept of going into Toon Town is really cool. But it’s should feel like the characters are really coming to life with the same technology they use in the Mickey Mouse ride.

It’s an illusion. It’s a part of the wall that comes out (it’s not very visible from the angle it’s shown in the video) & his arm ‘stretches’ out to push the hole (the piece that comes out) back towards the regular wall. Hope that makes sense!!

Pretty to look at, but without the good animatronics and the characters barely moving ( kind of just shaking back and forth ), this came off more as a higher end version of those stupid Warner Brothers dark rides that they retrofitted some of the six flags dark rides with years ago, like the spelunker cave at six flags over Texas. Not impressed. Either give the ride the attention and the animatronics it deserves or don't do it at all!!
